Hi

Not sure if this is in the right place or not, but are there any stores outside Disney (within walking distance) that sell things like Twinkies and all the US type sweeties that we have to try :goodvibes ?

Thankies

There is a 7-11 on the 192 but that is certainly not within walking distance of Disney.

I'm bought Twinkies and lots of American sweeties and candies from Walmart and Publix.

There's a Goodings supermarket at Crossroads that some people have walked to from DTD - it's quite a hike and I believe that the main road before Crossroads is quite dangerous to cross. I don't know what they stock though. Where are you staying?

Gooding's is quite a big supermarket, must admit I haven't been for many years - similar to Publix but more expensive.

There is also a Hess gas station with a good size Mart across the street from DTD so it's an easy walk.

Also most resorts have a store attached with some of those extras we need.

Most of the Disney resorts have small shops that sell a ride range of snacks :)

If you are in Epcot you can walk through to the Epcot resorts (Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club, Dolphin) and visit the shops there.
If you are at MK then you can get the resort monorail to the Grand Floridian, Contemporay or Polynesian.

or you can get on a resort bus at any park and go to any resort shop :)

The walk from DTD to crossroads takes about twenty minutes. It is a nice walk, properly paved and crossings controlled by traffic lights. Apart from Goodings there is a Red Lobster, Pizza Hut and a few more places to eat and shop. There is a bit of shade but in the summer months you might need a bottle of water.

We have bought Twinkies before at the Walgreens just along from the Crossroads. I'd be very surprised if Gooding's didn't sell them as well :)

However if you don't want to leave Disney I reckon the Hess garages suggested above are a good bet.

Thanx guys, think we might try the gas station, or if boyf is up to it go to crossroads.

Thanx again :D

As Tim says there are mini-grocery stores at Disney resorts and I used the Boardwalk one a couple of times last year.
Very expensive though, bread for example double the price it would be in Publix.

We just wanna stock up on the different US sweets :D and get some food for a picnic too :D

Slightly off topic but if you are going to the Florida Mall there is a sweet shop there that is brilliant, called 'Dylan's Candy Store' near the food court. Much better than the choice at the supermarkets.

We won't be going shopping until near the end of our trip, so looking forward to that, gonna go crazy in Orlando Premium Outlets.

I think I will stick with going to Hess gas station. Will check out downtown disney too.

How far is the gas station? We are staying in CBR.

Thanx again guys.
