Mini DIS Meet.

Amsterdam, here we come!!!

It's Saturday and we woke up around 9.30am and hit the shower.
Emiel was up at 5.30am because he needed to see the shuttle launch....

After the shower we had breakfast and just some coffee, a sigaret and then we went off to Amsterdam.
We parked at the Arena AJAX Stadion and took the subway into town.
It's an 10-15 min ride on the subway.

We got out of the subway at Waterloo Plein where there is a marketplace where they sell junk.... (a bit like the marketplace at Nassau).
We just walked around, just looking and enjoying everything.
There was a culture festival about the opening of the new culture season, so there were bands playing and all kinds of theater shows.

We wlalked true the town and went to the Red Light District, it's really not special or something but some very old adults feel like little kids again, they laughed and giggled around and we laughed and giggled at them....

Then we went to a Coffee and Tea Museum and walked around a bit, it wasn't realy a museum it was more like some one collected his junk that was some way involved tea and coffee.
Becx and Gav bought some coffee as a present.

Then we walked to the Dam, were we took a touritic photo and watched a second a classic performence.
Then we walked to a place to eat.
We ate in the Kalvertoren, a place were there is a restaurant and you can overlook Amsterdam.
It was a very very nice lunch.

After the lunch we walked true the shopping street back to the Dam and there was Alain Clark performing. He is soooo good.
I took some photos and video of this and then we walked back to the subway.

We took the subway back to the Arena and there we needed to shop a bit more.
After the shopping we got back into the car and drove home.

At home we had some fingerfood (Becx ate a whole hand).
We just sat down in the livingroom and chatted all night long.
We ordered some Pizza and just chatted and chatted.
At some where around 11.45pm we went to sleep...

Today we arestarting slow (it's 11am and becx and Gav are still slepping)...
We go into Delft do a canalboat tour, propably do the Prinsenhof Museum and just visit a café where we can eat something and watch people stroll around Delft.

We have to leave Delft around 7pm because Becx and Gav fly back later tonight........

Lovely that Becx and Gav had you as special tor guide of Amsterdam.

Looking forward to more photos Yvet :thumbsup2

We had the best tour guides in the world!!! :thumbsup2

We are finally home :faint:
There was a 3 hour delay because Easyjet don't know how to run a reliable fleet of aircraft and so we have just made it back home at 3:30 am

We had a fantastic time and I'm busy looking for flights to visit them again!!
Do you think we should go to bed now? :surfweb:

We will post more tomorrow. Big thanks to Yvette and Emiel for making this weekend so fun and so special

We can't wait to get back to see them!

Gav.

Sunday in Delft.

We slept in a bit, so the morning was gone....
But that was only because we stayed up late the night before.

We had some breakfast and then we did a calculation about getting Ap's or just special Uk passes for Becx and Gav.
We also talked about the Panama Canal Cruise in 2011
We took it very slow and left the house around 1.30pm

We drove into Delft and just walked for a bit around Delft, we went to the Prinsenhof a museum.
Then we bought some old Dutch candy and walked a bit further.

We went to an icecream store and bought us some delicious icecream.
Then we went to the canal boat tour and bought our tickets, we had to wait for 15 minuts but then it started.
It was a great tour and always fun to see Delft from the water and the canals because you see more then just walking on the streets.

After the tour we went to the marketplace and went to the pancake house where Bill Clinton went when he visit Delft (back in the days when Bill Clinton was the President).
Gav had a fish meal and Emiel also, Becx and i had a pancake.

After the meal it was time to go to the airport.

When we arrived at the airport there was a delay for their plane.
They supposed to leave at 9.50pm but it was delayed until 10.25pm, not that bad....

They checked in and then we went to the Starbucks for our coffee fix.
Then we had to say our goodbye's (thank god they are thinking of comming back soon), i hate to say goodbye....

They went true customs and soon we got a text message that the plane was delayed again, now the departure time was 10.50pm.
Still not that bad.

We got in the car and drove home on the way there was another text: delayed until 11.20pm
And when we came home another text: delayed until 0.30am.
This is not funny anymore.
It getting way to late for them and we could have spend so many more time together.......

They finally went up in the air around 0.35am!!! :scared1: Instead of 9.50pm....

They are home right now and planning already their next trip to get together for another mini meet.

We loved our time together and we had so much fun this weekend, i'm missing those guys so much already....

** Photos will be posted (probably tonight).
