Im trying to decide which to go with for our anniversary desert. Can you all tell me how they both taste? How big is the mini castle cake? I know its supposed to only really feed 1 person, but in size how big is it? Also same thing for the slipper desert. How big is that and does it come with anything or is it just the slipper? Also I was wondering can you get the slipper desert with chocolate filling and strawberries instead of what it normally comes with?

I got the slipper dessert for my daughter one trip. It is a white chocolate slipper about 6 inches long and about 3 inches high, with the heel. It holds about 4 oz of chocolate mousse. There was enough there for 4 people to have a "bite" and for two kids to finish it off (DS 5 and DD 11 at the time).

It should be enough and is rich enough for two to share easily.

What is the "mini castle cake", What restaurants can you order it from? What is the cost? I would LOVE to know more! Thanks!

Mini castle cake is a mini version of their castle wedding cake. It typically feeds 1 person, but if u eat a lot before hand, it can feed 2 people. The only place you can order it from is the GF Bakery. They only deliver it to any restraunt in the GF during any meal and I believe to your room only if you are staying at the GF. The cost is $25.00. Like other cakes, you have to order it 48 hrs in advance and they will automatically charge your card when you go to place your order. Theres a really good pic over at the cake thread. Pg. 42 post # 616. Heres the the direct link to it. Its the very 1st post on that page.

Shoot..There isn't any way to send it to CRT for lunch?? Gosh, I would def. get it if it could get sent there!

In my opinion I would take ur money or credits and go over to GF Cafe for lunch. CRT at this point isnt worth ur money or credits and ur time.

Teresa,

I had the Slipper Dessert in Nov. 2004. It was good, but it is just chocolate and mousse. Since it is going to be an anniversary dessert, you should go with the cake. I'm sure after a big meal there will be plenty of cake for both of you. Many people have commented about how delicious the GF cakes are. There are a few different flavor cakes and several different fillings. If you don't eat at the GF, I think you can pick the cake up at the front desk.

Im thinking of doing the cake. It looks to pretty and it would actually match our wedding cake. We had a HUGE cake. Actually it was more like 2 cakes. 2 cake toppers, 1 was cinderella and prince charming, the other was a glass castle that lights up and 2 more under the top cakes 1 of a swan and the other horse and carriage. We are gonna eat the GF Cafe for a brunch on our anniversary. We'll prob go over around 10:30am. I wanted to eat breakfast there but didnt feel like eating cake 8 in the morning. So we just gonna push our breakfast up a lil by a couple hrs. :thumbsup2 Heres the pic of my wedding cake.

Your wedding cakes were beautiful! I am sticking w/ CRT even though it is not well loved on the DIS boards. I am not going for the food, or really even the princesses, I just REALLY want to eat in the castle. My expectations are not high regarding food, so there isn't too much to disappoint! I am hoping to call the chef there to see what kind of special dessert we can order! Thanks!

I special-ordered the castle cake (vanilla) for DD's 5th birthday at 1900 Park fare. It was to die for! It's cake, but most of the inside is filled with mousse. Wow, was it good! She didn't share more than a few forkfuls with us, lol, but I can't say that I blame her! It was $25 plus tax and gratuity, and worth every penny!

Was it just chocolate mousse or was there any type of fruit like strawberries? Im thinking of going with vanilla cake with just chocolate mousse if it can be done that way.

It was just vanilla mousse. I remember chocolate and cheesecake being other options. There may have been more, I can't recall offhand.

We went to CRT for dd's 13th birthday dinner. Like you, she really wanted to eat in the castle and didn't care about anything else. We were pleasantly surprised by the food.

I ordered her the slipper dessert. It was $12.95+tax/tip. I didn't see the final bill, but dh said that they added on an 18% gratuity.

It came with a generous amount of berries. There was plenty to go around, and we all still had the regular dessert. We packed some of that up to go with us. By the way, the berry sorbet there was soooo good!

I could not believe how really small the castle cake is! That is the $25 cake?

I can't imagine having two people eat that even if they ate a lot before dessert! It looks like a few bits worth. I'd get two or not even bother with it!

Yep, it was. I thought it wouild be bigger, too, just because I'd read so many posts about people sharing it. But it is really, really rich. I couldn't have eaten the whole thing!
