The week before our Disney trip last August, we went up North for a week of cottaging etc. It was not as exhausting as camping might be (although picture DH and I, our 3 kids, and my parents crammed into a cottage the size of two value rooms, only without the extra bathroom! Plus it wasn't all vacationing, we did a ton of work tearing down two old buildings on my parent's property, maybe it was maybe more exhausting than camping!) It was a bit much, just in terms of the laundry and unpacking factor. Had to totally unpack from the cottage, wash all summer things, and then re-pack for Disney. To top it all off, it was the two very last weeks of summer, and we were coming back from Disney at midnight on the Monday night before the kids went back to school. It was all a bit too hectic for me. This year no trips the week before Disney (I actually booked in to work, which is more relaxing than going to the cottage anyway!), and we are coming back on the Saturday night, so we will have a bit more time to get settled before school starts. That said, we have lots of other opportunities to go to the cottage, and if this is the only opportunity you will have in the summer to do the camping, AND your parents are paying, that may make it worth a bit of added stress.
