Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Hope you have a great weekend MeMom! I have a question. Where did you find the alligator/crocodile (I have a horrible time figuring out the differences) in AK? How cool! I will look for them next week if you can let me know.
Wigd- I have not decided our dates yet. When is everyone else going down? I know there is a cruise and VB included also, right? When is the cruise? I am dying to go on a Disney cruise!

Was that a real alligator? I've never seen that before. I hope it wasn't real because that looked like a mighty flimsy rail separating him from the humans!

On the phone with CRO right now listening to Soarin. I'm on hold because i'm a bit of a WDW CRO troublemaker haha! Reading your TR as I sit on hold and listen to Soarin! Oh, they just changed it to Grim grinning ghosts!

Oh Caren, sorry you have to deal with all that paperwork, no fun at all!! I hope you are able to get it done and have an uneventful, relaxing weekend!! I'm all for those!!! I'll be up at the school tomorrow for a bit I hope to get a lot done during that time!!!

Loved your AK pictures!! Never have eaten there either, but it sure does look good! Was that a shrimp po-boy?!? Looks amazing!!!

Flik...I love him...of course I'm partial to the insect world!!!

Never eat there either! The food looks good.

I need to look around Dino land a bit more. We never seem to make it there for very long any trip. :confused3

It definitely looks like that drummer is giving you the stink-eye.

Mingos Everywhere! I'm going to make a point to look for all the mingos next trip, it will be like spotting hidden Mickeys.

I was going to offer a donation for you to buy a turtle for your class, and then I saw that your state law forbids it...

I don't ever roll eyes at your trip report!!! but I did think it was funny that you are at the "turtle point" (oh- OKW reference) in your report...but just a little bit funny!

Catching up right now... stupid school is pulling me behind :lmao:

Oh, I love the pin board that's shaped like Africa! So cool! I gotta go find if they still have that. My dream now is to trade one of my pins for a pin on there lololol

Love the pictures of Bella and Brooklynn on their little elephant friends. I must say hi to those guys some time, they seem to be ignored, poor pequenos elefantes (Spanish class has invaded my mind)

Awww... poor little Kanga! But that's so great how they handle the animals with such care. If I end up becoming a veterinarian, I want to work there. And I'll see if they can get you a job, MeMom! :teeth: Or you'll sneak in heheeee

Oh yay! More shopping in Harambe... I'll take the Mingos out of the Watah! ;) Oh, but the possum on stage is adorable, I'll buy him! And oh my gosh, that video is hilarious! Even I get it! Hahaha

Ooooo... some food! I should try to stop by that place now, everything looks awesome! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Cara, our official dates are to arrive at Disney on June 10, cruise the 15th, Vero the 20th back to Disney the 24th. Why don't you cruise with us on the Dream?

Hi everyone. Miss you all. Dawn... Seth's first trip is coming up!!!! How exciting!!! Are you doing a TR?

Memom - did I miss when you came back to tell us the janitors reaction to the gift?

You day at AK looks great. I want to know, too - what restaurant was that and was it a shimp Po Boy???? My favorite food, oh my.

Our selection this week was "A Walk in the Desert" so Scales came to visit 2nd grade. He did a great job showing the kids how a tortoise eats like a pig and then of course to their delight poops like a cow.
I wish I could put him in a crate and ship him down to you.
Is there a pet shop that would loan you one, or a nature preserve that would bring one out?

Morning! :goodvibes

I am embarking on my last day of work before my vacation starts...
...not looking forward to it being 12 hrs though. :upsidedow

I hope after this observation is over at school you can relax again and not have to put in these crazy long hours.

I will put some WDW pics up on here next week to help add a little magic to your days.

Any requests? Does anyone need me to pic them up anything?
No MeMom I can not fit a Galapagos Turtle in my suitcase...I'm sure he would't fit.

Yesterday while I was working the cash, I started taking to a very nice couple about WDW. They asked me where I stay etc.
Turns out they were CM's at Disney for a few years.
I told them that is my dream job and they said "people don't understand it is a job and you have to cater to others instead of being catered to". ;)

That little encounter made my evening. :cloud9:

All the suitcases are now packed, errands are done, Aaron has way more food than he and his buddies will ever eat, cats needs are taken care of and housework is done.
Okay...I still have to clean my bathroom but that I will leave til the morning. (not my favorite job) :lmao:

Are we all excitted...YES!!! :dance3:

Lexi's teacher told her yesterday to say "Hi" to Mickey for her.
She also told her that she was a very lucky girl to be going to WDW.

DMom and I went out and got Aaron a new Playstation3 and a couple of games as a surprize.
When he comes home Sunday...he will be one happy guy. He has always been an XBoX fan but wished for PS3 too.
This should keep him out of trouble and stay occupied after school. :rotfl:

I hate leaving him behind but I wouldn't want 'grumpy' bringing down the party for the rest of us. I won't force him.
Hopefully someday he will find the magic again and come back to The Happiest Place on Earth. :thumbsup2
Maybe when he get's a girlfriend...that will be my way in.

We've never eaten at Restaurantosaurus, but I do think the theme there is so fun (those wacky grad students!).

(That is Restaurantosaurus, correct? I am SO not an AK expert!)

Wow, there are mingos everywhere in AK! There used to be mingos in Epcot too, I'm not sure if they're still there, by the African Outpost bridge.

You got it correct. We like it because there is a drink refill station and a good fixin's bar for your sandwiches. I like (love) tomoatoes on my burgers, so instead of the one tiny slice most places give, I can get three good slices and really enjoy my sandwich. :thumbsup2

I tihnk he is the normal one, everyone else is different. :rotfl2:

Hope all the paperwork get finished up tonight so you can enjoy your weekend.

I did get the paperwork finished. The rest of it is much easier. I have to go shop to get what I need for the actual lesson. :thumbsup2

Bella is not at all a fan of the big blue bug. She would not have anything to do with Flik when Brooklynn was having her picture made with him on one of our recent trips. Most characters she backs away from, but she looked like she had some fear in her face on this one.

Hope you have a great weekend MeMom! I have a question. Where did you find the alligator/crocodile (I have a horrible time figuring out the differences) in AK? How cool! I will look for them next week if you can let me know.

Just right over by the restaurant area in a designated pond-type thing. An alligator had a rounder snout, and a crocodile has a thinner snout. A croc's teeth will show even when his mouth is closed. Alligators are not found in as many regions of the world as crocodiles. That's all I can come up with for now. :upsidedow

Wigd will have you on that cruise. Just go ahead and buy the tickets. :) You would have a blast!

We haven't ever eaten there either, we always seem to end up at Pizzafari.

We used to only go to Flame Tree and Pizzafari, but we have added this to our list now.

Was that a real alligator? I've never seen that before. I hope it wasn't real because that looked like a mighty flimsy rail separating him from the humans!

Yes. It's very sedate. I've never seen it being too active.

On the phone with CRO right now listening to Soarin. I'm on hold because i'm a bit of a WDW CRO troublemaker haha! Reading your TR as I sit on hold and listen to Soarin! Oh, they just changed it to Grim grinning ghosts!

I like hearing Disney 'on hold' music, too. When I hear the first note of Soarin', I always hope I get to hear the whole thing before a CM gets to me.

Oh Caren, sorry you have to deal with all that paperwork, no fun at all!! I hope you are able to get it done and have an uneventful, relaxing weekend!! I'm all for those!!! I'll be up at the school tomorrow for a bit I hope to get a lot done during that time!!!

Flik...I love him...of course I'm partial to the insect world!!!

Yes, that was shrimp. John likes to try lots of different things when he's out.

I still am collecting things for my Tough to be a Bug center, but the trouble is there is so much going on that I don't have the energy to put it together. I will get to it someday.

I've got to do a little shopping for the the lesson itself, but since I got the plan typed out, the hard part is finished. Putting all those numbers and such is tedious and boring to me. I like the teaching part, but I despise the paperwork.

Never eat there either! The food looks good.

I need to look around Dino land a bit more. We never seem to make it there for very long any trip. :confused3

Does Jeremy ride Dinosaur and Everest? Maybe you can explore a little more next time. The problem with WDW is that there is too much to see and do!

It definitely looks like that drummer is giving you the stink-eye.

Mingos Everywhere! I'm going to make a point to look for all the mingos next trip, it will be like spotting hidden Mickeys.

A mingo hunt! :cool1:
I think I need to buy the mingo with Mickey ears at F&G next spring, don't you? :goodvibes

I was going to offer a donation for you to buy a turtle for your class, and then I saw that your state law forbids it...

I don't ever roll eyes at your trip report!!! but I did think it was funny that you are at the "turtle point" (oh- OKW reference) in your report...but just a little bit funny!

The lesson has changed slightly. I had too much material to do in one lesson, so I am cutting this one down to just sea turtles. I'm guessing state law applies to those, as well.

I need to go to Florida and stay at OKW this weekend. Research purposes for the sake of the lesson, right? ::yes::

Catching up right now... stupid school is pulling me behind

Yes, you can get me a job at Animal Kingdom. :thumbsup2

Next time you see the girls' elefante friends, get a picture with them. :thumbsup2

Cara, our official dates are to arrive at Disney on June 10, cruise the 15th, Vero the 20th back to Disney the 24th. Why don't you cruise with us on the Dream?

She should go with you. :cool1:

Hi back at ya!
Glad you got a minute of DIS time.

Mr. Freddy and his family ended up going to Kentucky. I'm not sure what they did, but I'm sure I will hear when he comes back next week. Remind me, if I don't mention it. My mind has been crazy lately. He was very shocked when he was called into the library and we were all sitting there. He couldn't believe the whole thing. We collected over $600 for them to have an enjoyable week, so I hope they did just that. :goodvibes

Just a quick hello as I go back to catch up on 18 pages. Be back in a bit!

Hello. See you whenever you can be here. Everyone is SUPER busy these days.

I have condensed to just sea turtles now. Can you have Scales send one of his cousins from the ocean instead?

Good for Scales being such a great teacher for the kids! :teacher:

Love that there are even plastic pink flamingos at AK! Does Bella like them as much as the real deal?

She likes mingos of all kinds, but of course she loves to watch the real deal in action. I am pretty sure I will be bringing her a mingo souvenir in October. :lovestruc

In thinking about this school year, we hit the ground running hard on day one, and we haven't slowed down or had a non-stressful day yet. That is sad, really, because I have a good group of kids. If I were able to do what I wanted with them, we could have a lot of fun this year.

I'm super excited for you. You better have the best time ever for all of us back home! :woohoo:

You are such a good mom to buy the video games to keep the boy happy. :)

As for the tortoise, I totally understand that his very domes shell would not allow for him to fit in your suitcase. However, I now am focusing on sea turtles, and we all know their shells are flatter, so.......

Thank heavens for Saturday mornings! I needed to not get up and get right out the door this morning. I slept until 4:56!!! Crazy stuff.

Let's shop. Want to?

Am I imagining things, or is this a turtle???
