I have already posted on Jackie's wall, but I want to say again how sad I am about the news. She has been on my mind often these last few days. I am heartbroken for her family. I am saddened by the death of Crew also. I cannot imagine what it is like to lose a child. My mom lost my brother and still struggles with it.
I have been keeping up with the weather. I hope everyone is safe still. 10 deaths so far. It is awful. Keep us updated everyone!
It seems like for the most part the storm was less than what people thought it could be, so that's a good thing.
They are having the service for Crew right now. I can't imagine the sorrow that is filling their hearts as this becomes 'final'.
Thank you, everyone.
What a happy update, MeMom! Loved seeing the girls' big smiles at the pool, and Bella cracks me up with the way she watches the characters approach and then scurries to safety.
Yes, that meal was a series of popping up and down for her, and she did very little eating.
Garden Grill looks very fun! I've not been there before, I'll have to add it to my growing list!
I bet the girls were wondering why the heck the view was changing!!
I'm watching Irene coverage on the Today show; I'm glad they're bringing us the news but good grief - do those poor guys & gals need to be RIGHT next to the water?! Scary!
I heard that a surfer (or maybe two) that wanted to test the waves did not make it. People should err on the side of caution.
Thanks for the pics of the Garden Grill! What fun to see the pics of what you get to see when the restaurant rotates! Something I've never been able to see, yet I've read and have seen dozens of reviews of the GG!
Sorry to hear that Marc's surgery was postponed this weekend and now both him and Anita are sick. Continued prayers for the two of them.
I hope everyone continues to stay safe if you are still in the path of what's left of Irene! Please be careful!
Yep, we did a lot of traveling during that meal, without ever having to leave our seat.
They are doing a stress test on Marc tomorrow. I know
Marc and
Anita will be glad when next weekend comes and this is a fading memory.
Aw Brooklynn's face so cute in this picture
It's just raining here- there was no flooding and we didn't lose power. The sky is lightening up already and they're saying the rain will stop by this afternoon.
I liked that picture, too!
I'm sure glad you had no flooding, and to keep your power - that's even better!!!
Awwww, Bella looks adorable floating in the water!!
Garden Grill looks like a fun meal..I love how Mickey is in his little farmer outfit!! And it's very cool how the restaurant spins!
Bella had such fun. She has no fear of water, so you have to watch her closely.
We like to see the characters in all of their different outfits, so that one is now checked off our list.
Still sunny and hot here. Watching the weather channel and sometimes they crack me up. They get so close or in one case appraoch the coast guard, start asking questions and then introduce themselves.
Looks like the water came first and now the wind will blow through. Hopefully everyone will be OK and things can start to get back to normal in a few days or a week.
If I would have been in the house I where grew up, reports are that area is under 4 feet of water. We had a canal at the end of our street and Hurricane David in 1976 had water in the street but not up to our door.
Trying to text one of my childhood friends who lives north of there to get a report.
Normal will be good.

We went through chaos with the flood, and Jill went through chaos with tornadoes, so we can empathize with what people are going through and what they are seeing as they begin to come out of their homes.
I'm a little bit behind, so here come my thoughts.
Jackie, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My mom is also my best friend and I couldn't imagine what you must be going through. You are in my prayers during this difficult time.
MeMom, I'm so sorry to hear about little Crew. There is nothing sadder than the loss of a child, especially at such a young age.
Re: Garden Grill. I'm 30 and I think that the idea of a moving restaurant is AWESOME too!
I keep thinking they are going to lessen or do away with characters at Garden Grill sometime, so I am glad we got in before that happens, if it does. It was too expensive, in my opinion, but I am still glad we went.
Reporting in from central CT. So far so good here from a storm perspective. We are awaiting the back end of the storm that may have more high winds but haven't lost power yet... knock on wood!
Love the pictures from your afternoon/evening at the pool and Epcot.
How adorable is Bella floating along in the pool?? So cute!
I have to agree with Brooklynn that a moving restaurant is fascinating. It was one of my favorites as a kid although I can't remember what it used to be called. She looks so happy to be getting visits from each of the characters.
Thinking good thoughts for all the DISers who need them right now. I love our virtual DIS town.
In real DIStown, we will only allow light showers and nice, normal thunderstorms.

We won't let tornadoes and hurricanes and floods. Most days will be sunny and 75 degrees.
That Disney day was a pretty light one. We didn't do too much, but it was ncie and relaxing in the afternoon.
Storm is over and everythingis fine both here in ct and at our house in va. We still have power, but lost cable & internet. Luckily I have m phone. I hope everyone else faired as well as we did.
GOOD TO HEAR!
We were very lucky here and did not get hit hard at all. There are a lot of twigs and small branches down on the sidewalks and in the streets in my neighborhood. Pretty much everything is closed, like malls and stores, but Dunkin Donuts is open. Go figure, right? Western Mass got the brunt of it, I think. Kailyn's friend has a tree literally leaning on her house, right outside the friend's bedroom, but I really haven't seen anything too bad here.
I know Christine messaged us on Facebook about this, but I'm not sure if she told you -- they lost power and she texted me a few minutes ago saying that she heard power might not be back in all of Rhode Island till next weekend. I really, really hope it's not true and that they are just overshooting so that people can't get upset for them saying it will be sooner, and it not being sooner. She turned off her phone to save battery so I'm hoping to hear from her later, as she said, from her laptop with internet.
I checked my messages between Sunday School and worship service, and she had said everything was pretty okay at that point - not a lot of damage anywhere.
I sure hope she doesn't have to do without power for very long. I, too, will hope that they are giving the worst case scenario. Keep us posted.
Irene is still up in New Hampshire, so everything's still in progress and we're waiting for another batch of wind coming our way. I lost power this morning, but only for a few hours. It is a tropical storm and has toned down, but a lot of flood warnings around here. I hope everyone else is all right who got a stronger bout of the storm.
Hopefully the winds are a lot less violent now for everyone. Hang in there!
