Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Sorry you took a spill MeMom! Maybe it will heal quick!
Hope everyone is trying to stay as cool as they can. The temps here in NE Arkansas are reaching 100 degress everyday and we need rain so bad. I am more than ready for Fall! Have a great week!

Oh MeMom, I hope you are ok. Our dog is my shadow and always under my feet. I worry that I will trip over her often. She has tripped up the kids several times.

Oh, MeMom, I flinched at your cat-underfoot owie. Been there, done that. Only it's my 4YO "puppy" who plants herself smack in the way waiting for me to unlock my back enough to get up. Wishing you pixie dust for quick, un-itchy healing.

Oh, and congrats on getting the better of that tiger. I'll bet you gave him a new stripe or two! ;)

Happy camp Thursday!

Aw. It is alright MeMom, I'm sure everyone will believe you fought off the fierce tiger. No one is going to mess with the tiger lady :thumbsup2

I miss summer camp. Always great memories made at summer camp. I would have gone this year and to my church's missions trip again, but instead i went down to Myrtle Beach with the family. Family right? Always want to spend quality time together and what not :rotfl2:

Good morning!
I am happy to report the tiger wrestling episode did not leave me quite as scarred as I thought it might. The forehead is barely pink and all under my bangs. The nose is worse, but still not as bad as it could be. It was a pretty big tiger, after all. :)

Anyway, it's more than can be covered by make-up, but not enough to make anyone cringe. I did my best to find a Hidden Mickey in the scar, but I came up with nothing.

In camp news, when I got to the kitchen yesterday, I modified the original chocolate chip pancake plan. The Eggo waffles were taking up valuable freezer space, so I used those instead. Chocolate chip pancakes will happen Friday morning. I have to go to a workshop today, so I'll be at camp in time to get dinner ready. Breakfast will be put out by the nurse and counselors - just cold stuff like cereal, donuts, pastries, and Pop-tarts. I'm having Papa John's deliver pizza at lunch, so the day is covered without any stress. I'll be learning about Social Studies integration until about 3:30, but I'll be wishing I was at camp or at home or in Alabama or in Disney World. Anywhere but there, I'm guessing.

So, to get our day started, let's spend a few minutes together in the Magic Kingdom.

This nice CM helped Jill get all of her family's annual passes.

Jill, do you recall her name?

Look at these beauties!

disneysummmmer099.jpg

And look at how nicely they work.

Some sort of training session, it appears.

Aaah, an empty Main Street.

Here's where we met Edwin, the Photopass guy.

Edwin took the normal castle background picture, but then he asked Jill if they had time before their ADR to take some different pictures.
She said they did.

He took them over to the side and did some water reflection shots, as well as the castle background from a different angle.

As Edwin took pictures of them, I took pictures of Edwin taking pictures of them. :goodvibes

We have to remember that a vital part of our trips is how we are treated by the CM's. They can make or break 'the magic' sometimes. Edwin was a nice guy. If you ever meet him, you can tell him you've heard good things about him. :thumbsup2

I would love to take you guys to Crystal Palace for breakfast, but that is going to have to wait until tomorrow morning, so hold on to your napkins for another 24 hours.

Have a good day, all!

Very cute! If I have a group who can do crafts this year, we may very well do this. Some groups can handle having paint and glue and scissors without acting crazy, and some groups are just a mess with them. We'll see what this group shows me. If we lived in DIStown (my favorite phrase ;)) we could have all of our DIS kids get together and make some, and I would very happily hang those in my classroom.

But in DIStown, I think I signed up just to be the town babysitter, so I wouldn't have a classroom. I could have a craft room, though, and hang them in there. :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing that. Tell Miren it is beautiful!

Everyone - I am reading all of your responses by the way. I just don't have the time this week for individual replies. I feel badly, but I really just can't get back to that again until the weekend. I do miss hanging out and 'chatting' with you all, though.

CMs like that who go above and beyond really do make all the difference. And I bet those pictures are fantastic!

As I am not a morning person, I haven't had the pleasure of the nearly empty Main Street early entrance. I may have to fix that.

Oh, I want to see the Photopass pics Edwin took! I bet they turned out really cute!

Glad the tiger didn't maim you too badly, MeMom! ;)

Have "fun" at your meeting today. We are heading to the Atlanta History Center to see Margaret Mitchell's manuscript of Gone with the Wind and assorted Civil War paraphenalia.

Speaking of annual passes, I had the strangest dream last night that I was living in Florida and had been for several months before it dawned on me we could get that Florida discount Annual Pass. It was strange because in real life it never would have taken me months to figure out we were eligible for Florida resident discounts. :lmao:

There is nothing like an empty Main Street. :cloud9:
And I agree about the CMs. CMs can make a trip more magical.
Have a great day!

Love an empty Main Street!!

Can't wait to see those photopass pics, I bet they turned out awesome!

Oh you have me dying to see those PP pics. Did Jill buy them (or the CD)? I have never seen the water reflections shots. If you guys have the pictures, I would LOVE to see them (whenever you have time of course). :flower3:

Something occurred to me as I was looking at the empty Main St. pics..... I have no idea how you guys have been to MK so many times that early in the morning and you have never been the family of the day??? I wonder how they go about choosing who it will be. I though they just picked someone from the first people to arrive, but you have been there early so many times that I wonder if that is correct. Have you ever seen them pic the FotD? Maybe you literally have to be the VERY first family there?? IDK?? I'd love to know the mystery behind it though b/c it looks like an awesome experience!

Geez, I missed 21 pages:scared1: I can't wait for summer to be over so I can have more Dis time.

I love the video explaining the title:goodvibes

You guys got some great early morning MK shots.

Memom- I love all of your CM pictures. Do you just snap a picture as they are checking you or getting your picture or do you ask if you can take there picture before you do?

I love an empty MK! I've been there early for ADRs but I've never seen the welcome show - I want to do that in February for sure.

Ahhhh Empty MK.....so Magical

I love feeling like the park has been opened just for our family.

How nice of Edwin to take several shots in different locations. I can't wait to see how they turned out.

Glad to hear your injuries from the Tiger Attack were minimal. Close call, huh? ;)

Have a good day at your workshop.

This update was a nice one. I love that feeling of arriving at the MK first thing in the morning. And a nearly empty Main St. is even better! I'm just wishing I could be right there right now!

Wow, Edwin sure seems to be a lot better than most of the Photopass CM's on Main St. We usually get the CM's who want to hurry and snap a few pics and then send us on our way with hardly any interaction our minute or two together. I would love to see how those other pics turned out that he took!

Ooh, love the AP shot! Those always seem to make the world more magical, don't they? At least, more magical opportunities to visit WDW!!

What a great guy Edwin is! I hope that you will be able to post those at some point Jill!

MeMom, I'm sorry you had to tangle with a tiger. I am very happy that it is not as bad as you feared.

Glad to hear that camp is going well and that they can survive without you for two meals. I don't know how. ;)
