Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

I'd love to do the Playhouse Disney show again this year. We have only done it once. I'm just afraid that my DD will think it is for "babies" now that she's a little older.

Starring Rolls is on my list this time too. What do you guys like to get there? I've heard lots of good things about their cupcakes.

I wonder what that lady in the bathroom thought???

Hope Brooklyn has a fantastic party today!!!

It is definitely for the younger set, but she might go see it with you once. You could tell her you are doing research for someone on the DIS, and maybe you could interview her afterward to see what she thought. ;)

The Butterfinger cupcakes are huge - plenty for two people, I think. Jill likes chocolate croissants and apple or cherry turnovers. The cinnamon rolls are huge, too. I don't really have a favorite. Very often when we go here, I end up eating a pack of crackers or a banana or something while they eat their goodies.

I'm sure the lady in the bathroom went and told whoever she was with about running across someone who really took the picture-taking to an extreme.

Ohhhh...a tower too! I can't wait to see pics of the party later.

Have a fun time at your party Brooklynn!

Mmmnnn...those treats at Starring Rolls look so tasty!
You know we have never been in there. I will have to make a mental note to pop in for a snack.

Enjoy the day! I'm off to work.

Yep, you should run by Starring Rolls to at least see what they have. It is a very tiny place, though. If it is crowded, you can barely move.

Thanks for the invite!! I booked Kona for New year's eve. I was shocked that so many restaurants had availabilities. Love the bathroom pic. Too funny!
I really cannot wait to see the decorations for the party! Jill does such a good job.
Blake is betraying me and wants Dr. Seuss for his birthday. LOL. No, I am a huge fan and I think it will be a neat party. We are thinking of just staying at Universal after Disney instead of the cruise. I can pick up some ideas at that time.

I don't know if we'd know how to do a non-Disney party! I told Jill she gets a break now from parties until April, but on the way home today I was thinking how neat it would be to do an 'Under the Sea' party for Bella with either Little Mermaid or Nemo as a theme. Do you know what a cool Ariel's Grotto we could make for a photo op?

I love Starring Rolls. They have the best cupcakes..last trip I got the red velvet one & it was great!
Can't wait for more!

Yes, I have had the red velvet cupcake. It was good. I have to dethrone the frosting from my cupcakes, though. I only like a tiny bit for flavor, not a big glop.

Happy Party Day to Brooklynn!

She thought it was fun to see all of her birthday greetings. :cutie:

Caleb picked up a few Handy Manny items in that gift shop! And the boys loved the Playhouse disney show!

In future trip news...when we were in Canada my mom mentioned she wanted to take another family trip in 2014 for my niece's first trip where she will be 2.5-3 yrs old depending on what time of year we go. Awesome!! But I looked up prices coming from Ohio for a family of 6 adults and 3 kids over 3 (possibly) plus airfare and it is pricey!!!

So I am thinking about convincing her to buy a small dvc resale for the same price she would spend (or maybe a little less) paying direct from WDW for a studio villa (3 of them). Then we could go more often and it already be paid for and her great grandchildren would be able to go too...depending on when the contract ends!

I'm thinking this might be the Disney fuzzy math?? LOL!

I am still trying to talk DH into November 2012 just my immediate family! I would like a Disney vacation just the three us before another big family trip! And I am soo excited about camping at Fort Wilderness. I need to make my reservation before there are no more spots left!

I am going to try to upload my Canada pictures today and get my tie dye cake to show you! It turned out great and tasted pretty good!

I would love to try a Fort Wilderness cabin, but the one bathroom would work for us, I don't think. I wish they had one and a half.

The cake turned out very pretty and colorful. I am sure everybody loved it! :thumbsup2

Oooooo... Starring Rolls sounds really good. I'll take the Tiramisu, Banana Split... okay I'll stop now. It looks like that place is a lot more than the Red Velvet Cupcake I always here about. I definitely need to check it out.

That Disney Junior show looks so cute. That's cool they use puppets instead of the regular character costumes.

Awww... those baby plush are so cute, especially the Dumbo one. And I see Pluto! ... Maybe I'll find a new mascot there... hmmm...

Can't wait to read more!

Have an awesome time at your party Brooklynn!

Those are actually the two items I was thinking about trying next, but in what order, I am not sure.

Brooklynn did have a fun party. She had just some of her closer family friends over this time instead of having a big thing.

Your answer should be because your adoring fans are waiting here on the DIS to see all the photos you bring us from all over the world.

You are a mess! I'd take the job of being a Disney reporter any day. ::yes::

We were SO CLOSE to going to Starring Rolls on our last trip - in line 2 people out the door. If I had walked in and seen what they had, we definitely would not have skipped out! It all looks delicious! I think I'll be making a stop in next time.

I hope you all have a fabulous time today!

It's a little tiny crowded place. We have peeked in and left a few times, too, just because we weren't in the mood to get squished at that moment. :)

I love how Brookie and Bella can just sit anywhere and look like they're having fun.

Yum...I'd have to have the tiramisu!!!

Jake and the Neverland Pirates are at Playhouse Disney now?! We might have to go back there if Little Guy is still into that show when we go back together.

That lady in the bathroom is like 'What the heck is she taking a picture of?!'

The girls are sued to just sitting wherever we plop them.

Bella wanted to watch Playhouse Disney on youtube this weekend, so we did. She calls is 'Mickey sing'. She names every character when they come out, and when they leave the stage, she says, "Wheah Mickey (or whoever) go?" until they come back. Then she says, "Dere him is!" with a big smile. :goodvibes

Awesome party!! :cool1: So glad everyone had a good time! The lantern is definitely my favorite...it's my favorite part of the movie! :goodvibes

Hope everyone, especially Jill, got some rest today.

Have a great week everybody!!

Okay, you're killing me with the Starring Rolls pictures. There are so many yummy things there.

It appears that we are going to be on the Poly beach for New Year's Eve as well! A big ol' Dismeet I think.....

The NYE list grows longer and longer. :dance3:

You need to wear a pin that says Official DIS Photographer and Trip Reporter.

I should!
Think it would get me some behind-the-scenes perks?

Precious! :lovestruc

I have really enjoyed catching up on the trip report! Great pictures as usual! Brook and Bella are the stars of the show as always....
I know I wished little MISS a Happy Birthday on FB but I hope she had a wonderful time at her party today and you all are relaxing right now!
I finally am taking some time to do just that myself!

This start to the school year has really taken it out of me, but I have had fun putting my "Nemo" room together too! The kids enjoy it but honestly, I adore it!

As for Starring Rolls, I'll have the turkey sandwich and banana split dessert. My all time favorite CS lunch as DHS!!! If you haven't tried it, you don't know what you are missing....

I told Brooklynn Miss Anita Wigd and Mr. Marc said Happy Birthday.

Yep, your Nemo room looks awesome!

I will have to try the turkey sandwich. I have not had it, and I do like turkey. Do they have chicken salad, by any chance? That's probably my favorite sandwich.

It is now time to crash!

And crash we did. :goodvibes
Everybody had a great time, and you and John deserved to fall out on the floor last night. Next party - April, here we come! :woohoo:

Here is a suggestion for you that I got from my cousin about the girls sitting on the ground by Starring Rolls. She brings placemats that she buys at the dollar store. Sometimes she can even get ones that are sort of foamy and she says that only do they keep your bottom clean, they are more comfy! However, I bet have a delicious treat from Starring Rolls would make up for having an uncomfy bum!

Brooklynn's party looked amazing! I would want that for my birthday! The floating lantern was incredible! I love everyone's picture in the tower too! So cool!
K Reile - your cake looked pretty awesome too! I bet it was yummy!

We've been known to sit on shopping bags, towels, or whatever works. The foamy placemats could be a good idea. :thumbsup2

We were a little concerned about the lantern at first, but in a few minutes, it took off. Hosing it down was kind of funny.

As you can see, the three big boys at the party were cheesing it for the tower pictures. :rotfl:

Looks like Brooklyn had a great 5th birthday party.

She did. She spent the rest of the evening playing with her new things, and then she crashed hard. All that water fun, soccer practice in the morning, and no nap made for a tired birthday girl.

Aww, I love the Tangled theme! The lantern is great, as well as the cake. (That rhymed.. kinda. ) Looks like Brooklynn and all of the kids had a fun time.

The floating lantern was the perfect ending for the party. The kids loved it!

Oooo... Brooklynn's birthday party must've been awesome! I love the theming with the cake the lantern and the hair stretching throughout your house. Glad to see she had an awesome time

You only turn five once. It oughta be memorable. ;)

Looks like you all had a blast!!! Now if I remember correctly Carter was the one with heart problems, correct?? I could be wrong, but if I'm right, how is he feeling??? He looks good.

Yes, Carter was the one that had heart surgery. As far as I know, he seems to be fine. I think he has to go back on regularly scheduled visits. Jill can add more. He is as active as any little boy around. :goodvibes

Looks like another great celebration by the Disney party Queens! You girls come up with the best ideas...

That cake looked super yummo!

I'm just the background support help.

What do you think about an Ariel's Grotto for Bella in April?

WOW!! What a fantastic party for a very special girl! Between the braid, amazing cake, tower and floating lantern (!!!!) I cannot pick a favorite detail. You guys are so creative. i agree, you are most definfitely the official party planners in DIS town.

K reile - your tie dye cake looks yummy too! Glad your niece enjoyed it. She is a cutie.

Party planners in DIStown or Disney World reporters - I think we'd be good with either of those jobs! :yay:

OH, Jill. You are an amazing party planner. You did such a beautiful job.

She did. I am so proud of the amazing woman my daughter has grown up to be.

Jill, the pictures are wonderful! The hair streaming through the house was fantastic! The kids must have had a great time on the inflatable!

Memom, Thanks for the Starring Rolls shots. We didn't eat there this trip...it was time to get some breakfast while we were at HS. I mentioned Starring Rolls and dh said,"We always eat there." I should have replied, Oh course we do silly...why wouldn't you...but instead I said, we can grab something at Writer's Stop (which is another fav of mine.)

I love the Animation Courtyard even though most of the options are really too young for my nine year olds. The Animation Studio is perfect for them, though.

I love the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie at Writer's Stop!

Do your girls feel like they're too big for Voyage of the Little Mermaid, too? I've been to see that even on adult only trips. :)

Do you know I have yet to ever go in and draw anything??? I want to, even though my drawing will be unrecognizable. :upsidedow

Oh, MeMom and Jill, I must say it did my heart good this morning to look through the twenty pages of your TR that I had missed. Spending time in the parks with all that Disney magic and Brooklyn and Bella was just what I needed.

MeMom, your room looks fantastic! I see you decided to go with the more child-friendly Bruce saying! Although after reading about your math pre-test scores, you may want to reconsider using the other saying.

Happy Birthday and Birthday Weekend to Brooklyn! I bet she is worn out from all the fun!

We have missed you, good friend. Hope things are looking better and better every day for you.

Yeah, I went with the milder version with the shark.

I left Alabama this morning and have worked on school work a lot of the day. I hope Jill and John were able to just do a lot of nothing all afternoon. They deserved good long naps.

Chris and I sat on that very bench while eating Starring Rolls treats in June! Not quite as good as a shaded table but it did the trick! The girls are so well behaved...they'll just sit wherever and enjoy their food without a fuss!

I'll take a butterfinger cupcake from the case there, please!

I'm sure the girls loved that Disney Junior show, it looks adorable.

Jill, you are amazing! That birthday party was just wow. The cake, the longgggg braid, the tower, the floating lantern...all of it was a little girls dream!!

As long as I am in Disney World, I don't have a complaint about anywhere I am sitting. :goodvibes

I think the Butterfinger cupcake is probably John's favorite, too.

You should have seen Jill braiding all that yarn. She is a pro braider now! :thumbsup2

Ooooh those Starring Rolls goodies look so tempting!!! I have my eye on a Red Velvet cupcake for the next trip...

I'm thinking Tiramisu for me. :) If we go by there in October, I'll share whatever Brooklynn wants, though, and I doubt it's going to be Tiramisu.

Great party pics! Looks like a pretty perfect princess birthday!

I love the cake, you did a wonderful job!

The hair was a very cute detail. How long did it take you to do it?

I suspect that John built the "tower"....he did an excellent job!

The tower made for the perfect picture op.
The kids all look so cute!
But where are the Memom & Brooklynnsmommy pics in the tower?
I'm sure you took them...come on share...

Brooklynn looks so happy at her party in her long Rapunzel wig....glad she had a good time.
Bella enjoyed herself too I see.

I wish I had one of those water slides as a kid....looks like a lot of fun!

Happy Sunday all!

I'm at work...wishing I was at WDW ....only 29 more sleeps!!!!

Oh, I made our countdown callendar yesterday. Turned out super cute!
I'll post a pic when I can.

We'd love to see your countdown calendar! :woohoo: When you get inside 30 days, it zooms by!

The kids were all fascinated with that wig.

Yes, John was the tower builder. He'll build anything we tell him to, since it usually involves him getting to buy a new tool or two. ;)

I did not get Jill's picture in the tower, and I know I didn't get mine!

I can't say how long Jill braided. She had most of it done by the time I got there, and then she added one more length on party day to make it reach all the way to the tower.

Once again, awesome job on the party!

Jill, it's all you. :goodvibes

Ahh....Starring Rolls sounds like a wonderful treat! Yum!

Love the party pictures! Very impressive lantern! And cool cake!

The lantern was cheap, too. Jill said $2-$3 maybe?

I wish Jill could take a cake decorating class. I know she would enjoy learning new things and having a girls' night out at the same time.

Awesome party!! So glad everyone had a good time! The lantern is definitely my favorite...it's my favorite part of the movie!

Hope everyone, especially Jill, got some rest today.

Have a great week everybody!!

I know I did school work all day. I am hoping the Alabama crew got to do whatever they wanted to and a whole lot of nothing, too.

Thank you everyone for your kind words about the party. I love doing it and I hope my girls will look back and have great memories.

Looks like you all had a blast!!! Now if I remember correctly Carter was the one with heart problems, correct?? I could be wrong, but if I'm right, how is he feeling??? He looks good.

You are correct. He is doing awesome now. Before surgery he was smaller than his twin sister. The day of his surgery John said he would grow like the Incredible Hulk because his body could function correctly not work so hard to keep his heart working right. He said it to kind of lift the mood on that very stressful day, but he was right. Since the surgery he has grown several inches and is now taller than Presley. He goes back for regular checks but they say there is no reason to suspect anything will be wrong again.

Great party pics! Looks like a pretty perfect princess birthday! princess:

I love the cake, you did a wonderful job! :thumbsup2

The braid ended up being 51 feet long (only 19 feet shy of the actual Rapunzel braid). It didn't take terribly long. Probably about 2 and a half hours total.

Can't wait to see your calendar.

Jill, you really should take a couple of cake decorating classes!! I took some years ago and they are so much fun. Your family would love it, we had to bring a cake every week :goodvibes I know Michaels gives classes here, do you have those in Alabama? I though about taking some more, the big thing now is fondont, which wasn't so big back in the day. Almost makes me want to go bake a cake......... almost ;)

Yes, Carter was the one that had heart surgery. As far as I know, he seems to be fine. I think he has to go back on regularly scheduled visits. Jill can add more. He is as active as any little boy around. :goodvibes

That is soo good to hear. I'm so happy he's doing well and growing.

Again the party looks like it was soo much fun. I hope my kids' birthday parties are half as cool.

I saw the birthday pictures on Facebook. Wow! What a great party. I wanted to show the pictures to Danielle but I'm worried she'll ask how come she never had such a great party.:confused3

Enjoyed the pictures from DHS too. I have yet to try Starring Rolls but it's on my list!:thumbsup2 It's been awhile since I've seen the Playhouse Disney characters. Danielle outgrew them all too soon. I'm sure the girls were dancing around.

Have a great week at school!

Loved the updates, MeMom!!! :thumbsup2

I love all of the shopping pictures!!! I'm not a pin collector & sadly have never taken much time to look at the pins. But after seeing your pictures, I think I need to check them out this trip!!! I love how they make the different land pins for MK!

I also put the "Living with the Land" pin on my shopping list for September -- but I bet you saw that one coming!!!

I still cannot get over how much Brooklynn and Bella have grown!!! I know alot of people say that you don't see it when its your own children, but I swear, every morning when Luke wakes up I can tell he's grown!

LOVE the pictures from DHS!!! I can't wait to see the changes with the new show since HSM is gone as well as the difference in Playhouse Disney vs. Disney Junior Live. Luke really loves Jake & the Neverland Pirates! He's sleeping right now, but I'll show him the pics from your report in the morning!!! He'll be so excited!

How do you make a tie dye cake? I think you posted the recipe A LOT of pages before this -- but I couldn't find it. Could you PM me & tell me how to make it? (Thank you in advance!!!)

I seriously need to catch up on facebook as well as on DIS! I noticed the pics of Brooklynn's birthday party were posted, but haven't looked through them yet. I'll do that when I'm done DIS-ing!!! :thumbsup2

I hope school is going well for you so far!!! Keep us posted!!!

MeMom, I think Ariel's Grotto would be perfect for Bella's next birthday! John is just the dad to build it!:thumbsup2

Well, things aren't great, yet. Mom is in a lot of pain, but we are doing better than we were two weeks ago, so that is something.

I also meant to say that I think Bo is looking so thin because he is wasting away for Chelsea! :lmao: I know I need a Disney trip more than ever these days!

I left all my schoolwork at school -- I am sure it is just waiting to greet me this morning. :sad2:

It looks like Brooklyn had an awesome 5th birthday! The decorations and the cake were just perfect, you all did a wonderful job!

I also enjoyed the tour through starring roles this morning. All those yummy treats made my breakfast of an english muffin look very plain!

Oh and here is a tip if you are looking for seating at Starring Roles! If you are there for breakfast- before the Brown Derby opens- you can just go around the corner and sit at one of the outdoor tables for the Brown Derby. They are not blocked off, and I have done it tons of times. I just always make sure I wipe down the table before I leave, so I don't make any additional work for the Brown Derby servers (although I'm pretty sure they must wipe down the tables before lunch starts, because you never know what fell on them during the night!)

Great party Jill as usual! The cake, the braid, the tower, the lantern.... she should have been one happy princess! :cutie:

The wig made me :lmao: ! I took DD to a huge outlet mall this past weekend and out of everything there, she chose to get a Rapunzel wig too! She has had the best time playing with that thing! Although I must say that it kinda freaked me out every time I glanced in the rear view mirror on our way home and saw a long haired blond girl sitting where my DD should be! :rotfl:

Awesome party!!! Fabulous!!! Jill, I think I want you to throw my next bday - you do a great job!!!

Awesome job on the party Jill!!! Tangled is one of my new favorite movies and I think you replicated everything so well!!!! :goodvibes Memom, I hope you have a good week at school!!!!! How many days left until your Oct vacation begins???:cool1:

I love the party pictures. Very cute. I am in the process of planning a water balloon fight birthday party for my son who is turning 9 next month. I would say Brooklynn's party is a lot cuter than ours will be. ;)

I loved the floating latern. Where did you get it?

Jill, you did an amazing job with Brookie's party! It looks like a really fun day for her! :)

Mmmmm MeMom. This girl is hungry so your Starring Rolls photos really made my tummy growl. Have you ever eaten lunch there and if so, what did ya think? :)
