Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Looks like it was a very fun party - with all those you love most! :thumbsup2 Can you believe it's almost school time? Henry doesn't start until after Labor Day, but still-that's just around the corner!!

You guys want another 'choice' activity?

You may have only one treat listed on this board.
What will you choose?

disneysummmmer190.jpg

That is a tough choice - I usually go for the Mickey Bar, unless it's VERY hot, when I usually choose one of the fruity items.

Some of you are on the verge of leaving for your trips. I'm really counting on you guys for awesome pictures and updates to keep the magic going until mid October. If I have some time later this evening or early tomorrow, I'll do another update. If not, it might be Monday.

You got it! Live updates will be done from this gal from the 12th (starting late night) through the 21st!

Wonderful Pop pictures! The construction on AoA is coming along so quickly, I really look forward to seeing it all when it is complete!

Glad the DIS meet worked out! And as always, super adorable pictures of the girls. :cutie:

MeMom, you inspire me to entertain more!

We have family functions all the time but mostly at my mom's house. I think I should offer to host things here and there so that I can hold Disney themed events.

And even if it's just the four of us...we should celebrate all occasions big and small with whatever Disney theme we can match it with.

We celebrated the end of the school year with chocolate dipped strawberries but maybe we should bust out the creativity and REALLY get into the spirit!!

Thanks for all the great idea MeMom!

It looks like you had a nice party. Yellow cake with chocolate frosting is my absolute favorite. I think the added Mickey sprinkles would put me over the moon!

I know exactly how loud ( and often rude) those groups can be...and sometimes, there are many grown ups that act just the same...At WDW, there were 3 or 4 times that I felt ashamed for being brasilien for I've seen really ugly things...but for all Disers who are reading this, please keep in mind that not all brasiliens are the same..in fact, we are really nice people most of the time...:thumbsup2. I just think that unfortunately there are many people who think that just because they are in another country or paying for something they can have all sorts of bad behaviour and get away with it...:confused3.

Memom , I love the pictures of the girls...they are soooo cute!!!![/

I think part of it is teenagers in groups are having fun and like to sing. Plus they are away from home and parents. It is not just brasiliens groups it is also cheerleaders, football players and band groups. In fact my only bad experience was a band group last trip. Then my husband reminded me of want it was like taking cheerleaders to camp when I taught middle school and coached cheerleaders.

Great pictures of the girls on the rock, they're both so adorable!!

I'm determined to at least explore WL this next trip, I've always wanted to visit there! How fun they have a wishing spot! :wizard:

Gone for a week - missed 10 pages....gone for a day - missed 5 pages! Wow!:thumbsup2

I'm glad to see your family gathering was fun and that you all had a good time! I cannot believe Brooklyn is already starting kindergarten!! She is growing up so fast! My neice would be starting this year too but her mother has decided to homeschool so it's a little different but still hard to believe! I bet the tye-dyed cheesecake you made was delicious!

I love the signs you made for the Diser wishes and I love Brooklyn's expression while she's holding it! I nearly spit my drink all over the screen! I'm glad you were able to have some more fun dis-meets! And the girls look very sweet with their bears!:goodvibes

I agree, I bet that window had to have been done by a Diser!:thumbsup2 It looked great! I love pictures of the girls on the bus too! Super cute! (as usual! ;))

Wonderful photos!
The girls look so sweet together! And very cute bears they have!
Wilderness Lodge really does look beautiful. I've never been there, (or to most of the resorts, but it looks like fun!)

That's a fun window at Pop! I really enjoy seeing the decorated windows there.

Your party looks like a lot of fun, and so does just watching a movie with the girls. I'm glad you were able to spend some time with them.

Good Luck to Brooklynn at Kindergarten! I hope she has lots of fun on her first day!

Of course you should tie dye the cheesecake!! You need those little disney touches. Like when I went to the movies to see Harry Potter last night, I totally saw a hidden Mickey in the movie. ;):rotfl:

I saw one too!!!
I can't remember what it was in, just that it was at the begining! By the time the movie was over I'd forget all about it.

Great family, friends, and birthday pictures filled with family fun. It is great that Trent and Drew's friends feel so at home at your house.

Nicole786 I want to give you a hug.
I'm so sorry for your loss of a loved one. (For a minute I was worried it was David).
I'm glad you are back and have some trips in the works.
I always looked forward to your creative tees. Are you making some for the little girl?
Take Care, Lana

Just saw this now! (something was messed up with my email subscriptions, but I fixed it!) thanks for the hugs! I really could use them!

MeMom and Jill, I looove the WL and the photos you posted just bring me back home for sure!! Its so peaceful there!!

Congrats to Brooklynn for starting Kindergarten! All those parties you have made me wish I was part of your family!! (OR at least lived close by so I can come and crash them haha!)

It is. You should go over their on your trip. By the way, when you do a TR, let us know. I have more reports than I can keep up with right now, so I am mostly focusing on trip reports and not pre-trips. I will join in whenever you get back and start the trip report, just be sure to come over here and announce it.

I talked to my mom about it and she said whatever day we can fit it into our plans, we'll go check it out! :thumbsup2 & I'll definitely post here when I start the TR. :)

Yes, maybe I need a schedule of all of your future trips so I know I have that extra magic in my corner.

They really are cute and I figured she did that so it would be easier to keep track of them. I think that is a really good idea with little kids in a large crazy place like Disney. Chances are you will never need to have that information but it's nice to know you do have it in your back pocket.

So far, we have not lost either one of them, but I make no promises with Bella. She's a fast one!

As it stands now, I will be going in October,
we're all going in December,
Jill is going with the in-laws in February or March,
and we're all going next June.
Hopefully, we can cover you in that time. ;)

I know exactly where you're talking about. It is such a nice, quiet place!

Yes, it is.
Let's make a pact not to let any non-DISers know about it. ;)

Yum!!! I could go for some of that cheesecake, right about now.
And I love turkey burgers. Mmmm...Mmmm

Trent doesn't think he can eat over about three percent of fat in anything, so he insists on turkey burgers. They are good, and he made about a dozen of them, but I had regular ground beef in the freezer, so I used that for some other burgers. I didn't see the point of going to buy more turkey when I already had the beef. Of course, Trent's way of eating is so much healthier than mine, and I should be doing everything he does. ::yes::

Your home always seems so inviting MeMom. I love that!

Thanks. It's just a plain little ranch house with lots of things that need to be fixed, but it is home. As you could see, Drew's friends ate down in Old Key West, while everyone else staked a spot at Wilderness Lodge. :goodvibes Trent is saving money for a down payment on a house or condo, but whenever he leaves, I want to knock out the wall that is behind the hutch. The living room that he uses and the kitchen together will make a nice big open area for our gatherings.

Then again, after I retire, I may be going to Alabama, so I will have to think about doing that and what it will do - hurt or help - to the resale value.

Say school very quietly, please. :ssst: ;)

The strawberry bars are so good on a hot Animal Kingdom day!

I will surely appreciate those updates. I won't be able to see them until I get home, so they will be a nice treat at the end of a school day.

I think AoA is going to be awesome. I'm a lot more excited about the outside, as I think we'll probably only stay there once or twice. I love what I have seen on the drawings of all the stuff around the grounds, and I look forward to taking a ton of pictures there.

Chocolate-covered strawberries - YUM!

We have fun with our little get togethers. If there wasn't at least some kind of Disney toy or poster sitting around the food, the guys would think they'd gone to the wrong house.

It looks like you had a nice party. Yellow cake with chocolate frosting is my absolute favorite. I think the added Mickey sprinkles would put me over the moon!

I love a butter cake with a light glaze of chocolate, and Mickey sprinkles definitely make that even better! :thumbsup2

Even good kids sometimes lose their minds when they are around the wrong people. It is certainly no one group, nation, sports team, or whatever that causes the issues. We were at All Star Music with some band kids once, and they were very low-key whenever we saw them.

I think it's the way we react to situations sometimes, too - not just the kids. I could have huffed and puffed about the people in front of me buying things for their friends, but really, in the whole scheme of things, it wasn't that big of a deal. They were hungry and thirsty, too, and their leader was gathering them all up, so they were running out of time. I try to think beyond the immediate aggravation at the circumstances sometimes.

Great pictures of the girls on the rock, they're both so adorable!!

I'm determined to at least explore WL this next trip, I've always wanted to visit there! How fun they have a wishing spot!

It is a beautiful place to walk around. Go sit out on the porch on the pool side of the lobby amd enjoy the sound of the water flowing by.

I don't know that that is meant to be a wishing well, but we have kind of taken it upon ourselves to make it one. :rotfl:

Maybe someone will come across the owners of those DIS windows somewhere on the boards. :)

The girls loved their bears, or bayuhs, as Bella says.

Brooklynn is still just four, so she will go to Kindergarten this year and then Pre-First next year. This will give her a year to get accustomed to school and to mature. We don't want her to grow up too fast, either.

Wonderful photos!
The girls look so sweet together! And very cute bears they have!

I can't remember what it was in, just that it was at the begining! By the time the movie was over I'd forget all about it.

You should carve out time to visit the resorts. That is one of my favorite things to do. I love to see the flowers, pictures, furniture, landscaping that makes each resort unique.

Brooklynn had her orientation tonight. She will start on Wednesday. I'm sure Jill will share some pictures of the big event. :)

Great family, friends, and birthday pictures filled with family fun. It is great that Trent and Drew's friends feel so at home at your house.

I think they know there is nothing they can hurt here, and of course, there is always plenty of food.

Just saw this now! (something was messed up with my email subscriptions, but I fixed it!) thanks for the hugs! I really could use them!

MeMom and Jill, I looove the WL and the photos you posted just bring me back home for sure!! Its so peaceful there!!

Crash them any time. If you ever find yourself in Nashville, give us a call and we'll make a party happen. :thumbsup2

I'm really sorry you don't have as much time to DIS any more, because there really is a lot of support and encouragement and comfort among these friends.

I know you can appreciate the Wilderness Lodge pictures.

I talked to my mom about it and she said whatever day we can fit it into our plans, we'll go check it out! :thumbsup2 & I'll definitely post here when I start the TR. :)

I think you will both enjoy it. :) You can take the boat from Magic Kingdom over and get to walk up that neat wooden dock and past the pool area. The lobby is awesome, and maybe you can see the geyser going off.

Love the party pictures!! I hope I got my password texted to Trent in time for Jarvis's girlfriend to see them singing! lol

Love the WL! The grounds are so gorgeous that we make it a point to visit every time we're in WDW. I look forward to staying there one day. When we decide to have kids, I know who to call on for a little good luck ;) I hope you'll use your fountain powers for us!

Looks like a birthday celebration filled with fun and love!

Good luck to Brookie on starting kindergarten!!

Awww... love the coin-tossing wishes! I like the happiness one, I'm in desperate need of that for when school begins Hahahaha And the picture on the rock is very cute as well. (:

The WL looks gorgeous! I totally want to stay there now. And it looks like they have a nice selection of merchandise at the mercantile. I can't have a full Disney fix without some lovely souvenirs! :goodvibes And I think I may have to get one of those picture frames... maybe...

Ooooo... DIS Meet sounds like fun! That's great you get to come in contact with someone involved in this online world. Adds a whole new layer to things :thumbsup2 Again, adorable pictures of Brooklynn and Bella with their bears! More Kid-isms, I read? :D

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

My Brooklyn was so interested in your Brooklynn going to Kindergarden....best wishes for a wonderful school year!!! :cool1::teacher:
Love the pics at Wilderness Lodge....love that place!!! Ok so who's pregnant now?????

How exciting for Brooklynn! First day of school!!!
I can't wait to see what she wears!:goodvibes

Love the updates! When does Brooklynn start school? I bet she is so excited! But I bet Jill will miss seeing her at her work!!!
