I rode it Friday during the 24 hour party. Honestly, I was extremely disappointed in the ride. As we finished, my niece turned to me and said "That's it? It's over?" and I have to say, I echoed her thoughts. We were in the very front row though and I've always found that to make it a slower ride. I'll give it a try the next time I am back, but overall, it certainly wasn't worth the hour wait time in line and it REALLY didn't live up to the expectation for me.

We were at the 24-hr. event on Friday night, the last night of a week-long stay. It had been a long, hot day (at Epcot and DHS, not MK) and I had the option of staying later and lining up to ride SDMT. But after reading all about it, I just didn't feel it was worth another hour or two in line.

I'll catch it next time. Not getting a ride did not detract in the least from a great week in all other respects.

+1, I'm with you on this, after all the hype I found it very short and underwhelming.

It was incredibly smooth, however. Also the swinging cars added an interesting element to the ride

I was able to ride it 3 times this past weekend and I really enjoyed it. I wish it was longer and the seats were bigger though.

The first time I rode was during the 24 hrs. I got in line at 2:45, the line was halfway around the mountain. It said 75 mins and it was exactly that but the line moved fairly well. Second time was on Saturday, I got in line not long after they opened it and it was maybe 20 mins, again it moved fast. I think what held it up were all the people stopping the line to play with the interactive part.

However on Sunday they had given out surprise fastpasses for it. The line was at 90 mins and it was no where near as long as it was during the 24 hr event, it was barely past the entrance. The line crawled along. It was definitely better without adding fastpasses in.
