Mimi's Diner

Hi, there!
We have a Mimi's Cafe here in Brandon, FL and it's a wonderful place to eat and is very family friendly!
The restaurant has unique decor and a wide variety of menu items.
The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable, especially when compared to DL food prices!
Check out this link to menus (a little old, but probably not much has changed).

Enjoy!

we LOVE it! My DH and I go on our "date" weekends. And I'll meet my dearest friend there for breakfast occasionally too. :thumbsup2

We stayed at HoJo's last trip and it was so convenient to go to Mimi's for dinner at least. You get SO much more for the $ compared to DL prices - I hated the food at DL for the most part and hated the prices. I think it would be a nice break from the parks personally.

YUM!
Gotta have the carrot bread.. I liked the corn chowder as a light meal at night time. Very yummy.

They have their own website with menu

Dh had the following one morning:
Chipotle Breakfast Burrito: 7.99

Flour tortilla stuffed with melted jack and cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, shredded beef, green onions, cilantro and black beans topped with spicy chipotle sauce

It was a large portion and lots of flavors without being overwhelming.

You can call ahead for a "to-go" order , they pack it up very nicely complete with utensils and napkins.
I plan to stop in this weekend to have muffins while walking to the park from Hojo's :)

Nope - it's right across Harbor Blvd from Tomorrowland, the first thing you see when the Monorail exits the park. (Not that you can exit Tomorrland and walk across the street.)

It is closer to walk to Mimi's from the DL/CA gates than it is to walk to Goofy's Kitchen in the DL hotel.

I second this idea. They give you lots of food. We got muffins as our bread for our meal and ate them from breakfast the next morning.

My vote = YES!!! Mimi's is great and the price is right. The food at DL can't compare with WDW and I've stopped at Mimi's many times for both Lunch and Dinner. Better food than The Blue Bayou and half the cost.

Just my .02 cents

Another vote for Mimi's!! The pasta jambalaya is delicious--and enough for 2. The carrot raisin bread and the bread pudding with whiskey sauce are heavenly.

It is so very worth leaving the park to eat there. We love it. I am so glad we have them here in AZ also.

Mimi's looks great and is on our list for our upcoming trip.

It is very clean and a charming atmosphere. I believe its sort of supposed to be like a French country cottage. Its nice on the outside and inside. My family of five ate a nice, hearty breakfast there a couple of weeks ago. With tip it was $45. They also give you juice as part of your breakfast which is nice. Very good service too. While I don't agree that the food at DL is not as good as WDW it is nice to have offsite dining options so close to the park for a change of pace and cheaper to boot!

How busy/crowded does it get for breakfast, lunch and dinner? We are staying at the Carousel Inn which I believe is very close. We are trying to do a "cheap" Disneyland vacation before our DCL cruise in September, so saving money on good food would be wonderful! :tink:

There is a Millie's in the Fairfield Inn parking lot before you get to Mimi's. It is like a Denny's, but is not as good as Mimi's!

By the way, you asked about the cleanliness of Mimi's -- It is a big chain and I have never been in one that was not well kept. It is like the Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill type of chain.

My kids were in no condition to go out to eat after 10 hrs in the park but we all were dying of hunger. (too busy one day to remember to eat) As the hunter/gatherer of the group I was sent out to find dinner for the family and was treated wonderfully by Mimi's. The food only took abt 10 minutes from order to delivery while I sat at thier bar enjoying a complimentary coke relaxing. The food was great. Good kids menu. Bread was fantastic and portions were large. With a 20% tip I think I only spent abt $45 for 5 of us. I don't know how the dine in experiance is but I highly recommend taking food back to the hotel if the troops are tired.

We stay at HoJos frequently and order take out from Mimi's at least once each visit. Get this, they messed up my order on 3 occassions so I had to go back down to get the correct order. One time, they comped the entire order on the other occassions they sent up a dozen muffins to my room. All this and I didn't complain or get angry about the mixup. They have my loyalty for sure and we all love the food - kids included.

Or is it a first-come, first-served basis? If they do take reservations, do they do them more than a day in advance? (Like, could I make reservations on Thursday for Saturday?) Thanks!

There are many places around the resort that will deliver spaghetti, chicken, pizza, ribs, etc. Fed a family of 6 for $25.oo with pizza and spaghetti.
