They were still building Millionare on our last trip... and now we are going in August..

I read somewhere there is a every 30 days "Hotseat" rule? Is that still in effect?

I understand the premise of the game, and how it is played at WDW.. how do children handle the attraction. I have a 8 and 5 year old.. is it too long? Or do they have fun just "pushing buttons"?

Is the prize really a cruise? Are the other prizes just pins/lanyards, etc? I thought I had read Disney Dollars somewhere, but I wasn't too sure about that...

Is there a specific strategy to this? First show of day, last show, least crowded times?

thanks!

I believe there is a "30 day rule" for the hotseat.

If your kids have ever seen the game on TV, they will probably enjoy it. The attraction is only about 30 minutes, part of which includes the stage manager and host setting-up the game. They do have a 30 second time limit for answering when in the hot seat, so things move along briskly. But we only saw 2 people in the hot seat the time I went, and neither made it very far.

The grand prize is a Disney Cruise. For reaching other plateaus, they award a pin set and other minor prizes. Nothing of any real substance unless you've won the cruise. No, Disney Dollars are not part of the prizes.

It is a FastPass attraction. For standby (if available) I'd suggest an early show, lunch time, during the parade, or at the end of the day.

The 30-day hot seat rule was still in effect last November. There is a hat for reaching 1000 points, and a shirt for reaching 32,000 points, plus pins for every level. the 1,000,000 prize is a cruise for 4, i think. The first show of the day was very empty in November. My 12 yo DD made it to the hotseat by pushing the buttons at random on the first fastest finger question. I have 2 shirts and can't wait for one more try for the cruise! My kids always enjoy the show.
