we are due to travel to DLP in a few weeks, this will be our 3rd trip, but 1st with a baby, well 17 months old. she loves milk and as there will be no fridge i was planning on taking some milkshakes such as yazoo as they do not need to be refrigerated. hubby reckons customs at St Pancras wont allow them, can anyone help me out please? if it's a no go i am sure i can pick some up there, but don't want to waste money beforehand. Thanks x

cool, thank you.x we have taken juice and snacks etc before but never milk products. hubby reckons dairy things are not allowed, i have googled etc but can't seem to find anything!!

You will have no problems taking drinks into France on the Eurostar. I normaly go through security and customs holding a bottle of coke.

If you want fresh milk the petrol station next to the Santa Fe Hotel sells milk.

On our last trip my friend's son was 19 months and had a load of the follow on milk cartons with her as he still drank quite a bit of milk. You could always email them to see if it's a problem then you know for definate that you're ok to take them.

great thanks, i have no issue buying milk there it's storing it, thats why i am hpoing to get the sterilised milkshakes beforehand.:confused3

Hi,
Bare in mind also that most milk on sale in France is also sterilised, in cartons and does not need to be refrigerated before opening. It also keeps longer than fresh milk once opened. You could always take some chocolate powder to mix in if needed, as it tastes slightly different to fresh milk.

We had this issue when we took our son in march who at the time was 23 months, and loves milk! We stayed in the sante fe, and they will fill your child's cup or bottle with fresh milk for free at the bar. we filled his beaker then took it up to our hotel room to settle for the night. you can obviously fill it yourself during the breakfast session, and alot of the diners offer milk as a drink option with the kids meals. Very useful!

We always take uht milk with us as it does not need to be placed in the fridge.
you can get smaller half pint cartons of it from Tesco.
