OK, I'll be needing a cup of milk each morning and maybe one before bed (for DD3) but I don't want to have to use garden grocer or anything like that since we are having our water shipped free from staples.com already. Can I buy a refillable mug and as I fix my "coffee" each morning can I fill the whole thing with milk instead? or has anyone ever used that powered milk? how does it taste??? We are staying at POFQ, so we'll have a fridge - any suggestions???
Thanks~!

I'd buy the Horizon organic milk boxes. They are shelf stable, so you can pack them in your bag.

But honestly, I think a week without milk isn't going to harm her. Will she drink water?

I don't know if the food court at POFQ is different from that at the value resorts. But this past March when we went with our son, 17 months at the time we had to buy milk. They don't have milk to make your "coffee" it's a creamer. We had a fridge in our room, and we bought the 1/2 gallon milk at the Foodcourt and made his bottle that way. One thing is that he drinks his milk warm....so each morning/night we'd fill his bottle go to the food court heat it up and go back to the room. It wasn't that bad since we weren't to far from the food court..a five minute walk. Were going again in September & plan on doing the same thing. He's a bit more patient with his bottle now that before so it should work fine.

My 3 yr old grand daughter LOVES her milk too! Her parents have wondered how to satisfy her milk requests too. You can't get milk in the refillable resort mugs. :-( We are staying at ASSp have requested a frig but won't know until we check in if we will get one so can't risk adding milk to our Garden Grocer order. If you are on the DDP you can use a snack credit for milk. I've read here that milk is cheaper (bigger container) at the resort gift shops than at the food court.

Good Luck!

DGS almost 3 HAS to have his morning and bedtime cup of milk. You can just buy it in the food court and keep in the freg. or a cooler. They have the 16 or20 bottle that might cover both time. There is also milk options with kids meals. We sometime get DGS milk but then he shares my soda and saves the milk for late. Might work if you are going back to the room or have a cooler with you.
I understand the NEED for milk.

we got the milk in the boxes like juice. we would put them on ice and open them up and pour into DS cup. He didnt need as much milk as i brought i guess the nonstop going and the lil bit of heat we had lol

We just got back yesterday - no you cant put milk in the refillable mugs, you can get coffee, sode, lemonade, hot chocolate (seriously) and water....we just bought a small carton of Mickey milk each morning it a little more than a dollar. Some days we used our quick service credits to buy breakfast at the hotel well you get a drink with your meal and since we had the cups we'd get the kids the big bottles of milk with our meals, and then 2 small water bottles with their meals and then we just got pop out of the fountains

I second this. This is what we did and it was perfect. And Horizon milk is sooooo much tastier than the cheap stuff. It is one item I splurge on here at home - no cheap milk for us.

Maybe we will try the horizon. We can not even switch brands of fresh milk so who knows!!

I'd not worry that much about it. A half pint (about a cup and a half) of milk is $1.79. Just buy them as you need them and keep them in your room fridge. It seems like overkill to buy specialty boxed shelf stable milk. You will end up paying more for the Horizon organic stuff than the individual Mickey milks...

They also sell quarts of milk in the gift shops of most resorts. They fit nicely in the room fridges. This will last you about 1/2 the week. They are like $3.50 or something.

That's what we do because we eat those individual cereals in our rooms, so we just buy a bunch of milks at the resort food court or buy one big milk at the gift shop and replenish as needed.

Our Kroger ran a special on horizon singles - 10 for $10. I stocked up before our trip.

Not only do our 2 youngest need milk before bed, so does their mom. I look forward to my glass every night. We were on a cruise in Dec. and I drove my dh crazy hunting down milk in the evening. At least it's easy to find at Disney. Have a great trip.

We stayed at POFQ and they do have milk available at the food court and the little store too I believe! Don't worry, you can also get milk at the parks before you leave and store it in your fridge at the resort. Bring along a little insulated bag and baggies for ice and you will be fine. My DS would NOT drink the soy or boxes of milk that didn't need refridgeration. If worse comes to worse you can always get a taxi to a store for milk, but I would just get it at the resort store...your best bet:)

Thanks everybody! This feedback is great!!!

Hey DisneyNV... I work in Allentown and live just up the turnpike in Mahoning Valley - small world!

Do they have fat free milk at Disney. My kids are big milk drinkers but only drink fat- free.

What about soy milk? My DS has been extremely sensitive to cow's milk protein his first year and my pedi wants him on soy milk not cow's milk when he turns a year old (while we are at WDW). I'm not sure how I am going to manage that transition that week, not to mention dropping the bottle too.

I always buy a 1/2 of Milk and keep it in the fridge in the room. DD loves milk at night as well as in the morning. I have purchased it in the gift shops at the hotels (POP, ASMov, ASMus, WL).

Why in the world would you make any drastic changes while you are at the "world"

Don't do anything different until you get back and are adjusted to being at home again!
