Military uniform formal night

agreed.. and he didn't buy a single drink all night....

what was really cute was the little kid( yes carnival allows children in their fee restaurant) ask all awed and shy like if DH was the Captain....

I just like showing him off. and he gets back from this deployment just before the cruise so he'll want to be reminded that he really is in the Navy after spending 8 months playing with the Army and their toys heheheh

Also wanted to add: the formal nigh pics make GREAT family holiday gifts! especially for parents and grandparents who complain that they don't get enough ....

Great pictures! We've done the deployment thing, too. So glad you will be able to enjoy a cruise when he gets home.

I think wearing the uniform is fantastic. I agree with the other posters that said that it allows us to thank them for their service, so we can all enjoy the freedom to take these cruises we love so much.

Even as a civilian employee on an installation I had to make my job security personnel and post security aware of any overseas travel. And attend a private briefing concerning the specific locations I was traveling to.

And DH says there are too many risk in taking the uniform on board. There are too many foreign workers from too many different countries. In the positions both of us have held it is not worth it to lose his career.

Heck, informants have been found outside the gate at a local pizza place. Never know where they can be found, or when a uniform can disappear.

We saw several men in their dress uniforms on formal night. I think it looks great and he should not have any doubts about whether to wear it.

My Husband wears his and always gets lots of attention. Seeing him in his dress blues still makes my heart beat double time! I vote for him wearing his uniform and you getting yourself a new dress! (Us military wives have to stick together, and lets face it, we know how hard it is to the job we do!):worship:

My husband has never been coined, but if he is, I don't think he will be buying the drinks!:thumbsup2

I feel the same way when I see my hubby in his blues. I've already bought the new dress. :)

What about on the Wonder for a 4 night cruise? Any uniforms seen there?

I am a Fire Fighter, but our dress uniforms are very nice also.

Mic E Man - I was just wondering the same thing. I was considering taking my dress uinform (fire/EMS) for formal night but wasn't sure if it would be appropriate.

They do not have a formal night on the 4nt cruise just a dress up night on night 2. I have not seen any military uniforms on those cruises.

Yes, you should be getting a briefing from your command before going on any cruise. You may not think about it, but you are leaving the country and with that certain rules apply. Make sure any of you military people follow the proper procedures for taking leave (liberty) outside of the US. If something happens and you did not follow the proper procedures, you could be in some hot water.

i think no US branch of the service will let you take liberty to go on a cruise. when i was in back like 16 years ago when you were on liberty you could only go so far from your base im thinking 100 miles. you will have to take leave. also liberty is only for a maximum of 4 days in a row.
