Military tickets

My cousin works on the naval base. She offered to get me a 1 day hopper at a discounted price. I am not in the military nor is my so. Who I am going with. Will this be a problem at the gate? It is not the salute 3 day pass

Yes, it will be a problem. They print out the tickets on copy paper at the base, and when you exchange them at the gate they will ask you for military ID. The tickets say military on them. Also, the military discount on 1 day tickets is very small, not worth the hassle even if you could do it.

Actually I'll have to disagree with the previous poster. The Salute 3-day hoppers require the military member to be present, but the actual 1-day discounted military hoppers (which aren't at much of a discount by the way...maybe $5), can be purchased and given to friends and family...the same rules don't apply.

In my experience sonnyjane is correct. BIl and FIL are air force and have bought tix for us before. The non salute to the military tickets are normal park hoppers and we used them without them with us. We only needed them with us when they bought the $99 salute to the military tickets.

We were definately asked to show miltary ID when we exchanged our tickets in September. They were not the salute tickets. The tickets said military on them as well. Maybe it was the CM we encountered?

Very possible. It's also possible that your base is different. The price of tickets varies from base to base. For example, my discount here in San Diego is really pathetic compared to the discount for my friends in Washington. When I have purchased tickets in the past, there was no mention of them being "military tickets", I just went into the MWR and paid the discounted price, which as I mentioned earlier for a 1-day ticket is almost nothing. I think I saved $1.75 when I bought them last lol.

OP, to be honest, because the discount is so little, maybe it's not worth the risk, as the PP suggested. Perhaps better to just buy them online yourself.
