We have been using salute tickets for all our trips but this year I am really confused to the number of tickets we get to activate. I know the website say six but is that for the 2012/2013 and the 2014/15 period? We activated 2 tickets in our Feb 14 trip we are going back in Nov and already have the tickets we will activate three. We are planning on going back in Feb 2015 would we only have one ticket to activate? Or would we have 3? I called and different CM's have given different answers so I am not sure who to believe.

I could be wrong but from my experience you should be able to activate/purchase 6 tickets per the promotion year- Which is what October-Sept? So the 2014-2015 military tickets salute offer is 6 tickets from Oct 2014-Sept 2015. If you purchased 3 in November 2014 you will have three remaining until Sept 2015 or your Feb 2015 trip.
If I am wrong someone else please chime in.

That is what I though too, but when I call I got so many different answers I am so confused. First CM told me I should be able to activate 12 total by sep 2015. He said that because it is the same promotion and I have only activated 5 I would have 7 left. The second CM told me just one left but since the other people we are going with are my dad, sister, brother, etc we should be able to activate for all them. Third CM said I would only have three left. I am not sure who is right. Fourth CM said just one can't activate for any other people in the party including the spouse (me).:confused::confused:

The question is when did you purchase your tickets that you have not activated? They are only good until the end of the promotional year, so if you bought them under last year's promotion, they would not be valid for this years promotion.

This year's valid admission dates are September 28, 2014 through October 3, 2015.

Current 2013-2014 offer on tickets expire and may not be used after Sept. 27, 2014.*
For the 2013-2014 Armed Forces Salute, Disney offers four-day park hopper tickets to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida for $169 (add the water park option for a total of $198) and three-day park hopper tickets to Disneyland in Anaheim, California for $129 (which allows you to visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park on the same day). This discount runs from September 29, 2013 through September 27, 2014.

It doesn't specify in the details anymore but the last time I bought the Military Salute tickets ( a few years ago) you had to buy all 6 at one time. If you only bought 2, you could not buy 4 more later... you basically forfeit the remaining tickets. They are suppose to keep track of the military member in their system so they can only make one purchase for up to six tickets. I am not sure what database they are using to track this, but it is suppose to be tracked. Just like I can get into Busch Gardens or Seaworld once a year free and up to three dependents, but they were tracking it to make sure it wasn't used more than once.

I know that the tickets that we bought for the nov trip are with the new promotion good until 0ctober 15. That still doesn't help because the promotion was extended and it is not a new promotion that is why everyone seem to be so confused.

Tickets used in Feb-14 would be under last year's promotion. This doesn't count towards this year.

If you purchased six tickets after August 25, 2014:

Nov-2014 -- using three tickets.
Feb-2014 -- using three tickets

The "extension" is for a new period for six tickets. There is no confusion. They extend it every year. If they did not extend it, but cancelled it, then they would not be offering anything. Every year it is extended with a raise in the ticket price.

Nina Bella gave you some good information.

You can activate six per the promotion period which runs through early October 2015. I got confused when you started mentioning your dad, sister, etc because that sounds like more than three tickets!

Unless you AND your spouse are both active duty (or retired), you only have an allotment of six per promotional year.

Like Nina Bella said, too, they have required in the past that you purchase all six tickets at once if you were going to use all six, but I honestly don't know if that's the case this year or not.

As far as everyone needing to be present to activate, it's totally luck of the draw on what CM you get at the ticket window. Most of my friends have been activate the tickets without everyone present, but Disney apparently CAN request that everyone be there to activate.

I thought we would only have three too. The confusion started when I called Disney to make resort reservations and the first CM told me I should not add tickets to the package because I would still have 7 left . So I called back the next CM also seem to think that both promotion would be combine too but I would only have 1 ticket left but she asked who the tickets were for. I told her it was for my dad, sister, etc. She said in that case I could activate the tickets for all of them because it was immediate family. This didn't sound right to me either so I called a third time and got different info. My DH and I would be there to activate the tickets because we are going in the trip with them so that is not a problem.

You don't have to buy all six together anymore that only change for one year I think it was either 11 or 12.
Thanks!

Just don't believe anything the CMs on the phone tell you re: the military tickets. They don't understand them, they don't understand the rules or any of the military lingo (i.e., the difference between active, reserves, retired, discharged and IRR).

Now THAT I agree with!

I think that the CMs don't have a good understanding of the military discounts--not the tickets anyway since they don't really deal with them.

If you're saving your tickets to use for your immediate family (I'm assuming your core family of three), then you have six tickets to buy at ITT/MWR! Just ignore whatever else a CM tells you from central reservations!

Did you book the other resort rooms at the military price? Maybe that's what really confused them...you booked the room at military rate but then wanted to add tickets!

if you bought 3 tickets for your Nov 14 trip you will have 3 tickets left for FEb15, and yes most CM's are clueless when it comes to the military tickets. your best bet is to go to DTD to activate them if you want to do this ahead of time, they seem to know best.
