I am SO confused! Help! We need 8-day tickets. When I went through the regular disney site, it would $660 for 8 day ticket, plus park hopper.

Then I figured it up with the military salute, plus park hopper option, and it still came out to $660!

What's up with that?? Does anyone know?

You would need 2 of the 4 day hoppers at $138 each for a total of $276 per person. These expire Sept 30, 2012. When is your trip?

Yeah, they are $138, plus $27 for the Park hopper option, so for two people, a total of $660, which is the exact same as a NON discounted regular ticket.

We are going in April.

The AFS ticket that costs $138 comes already loaded with Park Hopper or Water Parks Fun & More, depending on your choice. You could mix it up by getting PH for one 4-day ticket and WP for one 4-day ticket, each 4-day ticket costing $138+tax. Getting both add-ons on one ticket will cost a total of $165+tax. (No tax if purchased thru military sources.)

Only when you buy and use 1 AFS ticket/person is there a good savings. Using 2 AFS tickets/person is about the same as purchasing a regular MYW ticket. However, you could save the tax by purchasing your choice of tickets at your post or at Shades of Green.

The MYW tickets through Disney get cheaper the more days you add, that is why.

Yes, they are essentially the same price (if you don't factor the hopper option).
We need 8 day tix as well for 3 of us (plan on buying child hoppers for the 2 DS's), and I'm trying to figure out if I can activate 6 at the same time for 3 of us. :confused3

I am pretty certain you can activate 6 at a time, but no more. Try the Disney Military Tips blog, just google it, it should be almost on top.

I'm sure you are aware, but there are black out dates in April for the military salute tickets. You didn't say what dates you're going, but I think they can't be used from April 1-12? This might make a difference for you too?

Are you a FL resident?
WDW has a deal right now, 3 days for $99, add 1 day for $30 more. Use ends in May.

As others have stated, the $138 is already a park hopper or a fun & more ticket. You don't have to get both.

You can supposedly only activate 6 at one time but we have more dependents than that and were allowed to activate 8 at the same time in December as long as the AD military member was there.

You might want to look at the Everything About WDW Tickets locked sticky in the TPA&S Forum. Especially the items bolded in the list below.
