I'm considering booking a trip for October to attend the F&W festival. Last year, we bought three military passes ( for myself and 2 guests ) I remember seeing a new military pass was available, but not good for the whole year? I'm not going this year if I have to pay full price for passes and I can't seem to make the search engine work.

Anyone with info on the Military salute passes?

Just to confirm -- the military member's ticket is free (like it was last year), and they can purchase up to four additional tickets, right?

Thanks.

No. The AD members must also pay $99 for their tickets. There are no free tickets offered in this year's plan.

The link above has all of the details.

Thanks for the info...though it's a bummer.

Maybe they'll do another promo for the fall.

I guess I'm not fully understanding...my Dad (retired military) was going to buy the tickets for my family (four of us) -- that's what he did last year. So this year, could he just buy the four tickets for us and NOT get one for himself, or does he have to get one for himself and then he could only buy three for us? Does the military member have to be present at the parks in person to activate the tickets like they did last year?

If you read farther down in the information posted in the link, it does talk about a free ticket for the military member. So I'm really confused! I need to stop by our local office here on base (I am civil service, working for the Air Force) and ask more questions.

This is what the MouseSavers "blurb" said about the 2010 military deal earlier this year (a friend sent it to me):

"From 1/3/10-7/31/10, active or retired US military personnel may purchase up to a maximum of SIX 4-Day Base Tickets (which provide access to one theme park per day, no hopping) for $99 per ticket, plus tax, to be used by themselves, family members (including spouse) or friends. These tickets will be valid through 9/30/10 or until all entitlements on the tickets have been used, whichever comes first. There are block-out dates (when the military tickets are not valid) of 3/27/10-4/9/10 at all four theme parks, and 7/3/10-7/4/10 at Magic Kingdom only.

Although these tickets do not include either the Park Hopper or Water Park Fun & More options, they can be upgraded to add either option, or both, for an additional $26, plus tax, per option (half the regular price). "

I'm going to stop by our local ITT Tickets and Tours office this week and ask them.

I'm confused (which happens quite often, LOL).

I have no idea about the activating part. You can call Shades of Green as well for info.

As far as the free ticket goes, there are no free tickets for eligible service members this year. This year, the service member must also pay $99 for their tickets. They can purchase up to six tickets total (unless there is a special large-family exception made), one ticket for the eligible service member and 5 others.

I think where your confusion lies is this wording from that post "This purchase will not prevent the service member from receiving the free ticket at a later date, but this will make the service member ineligible to purchase any additional tickets."

I think the poster just used wording from either another site or C&P from the 2009 information and forgot to change "free" to "discounted" . There are no free tickets this year for anyone.

OK, that makes more sense. So the military member can buy one ticket for themself and up to five additional. That helps!
