Awesome goal! I was in the Air Force (active duty). I had planned on eventually making my way to OTS (officer training school) to become a pilot, since I'm a pilot in civilian life of four years.

The Air Force has many great benefits, especially if you do a job you love. Pararescue is extremely tough, but if you can do it, it's highly commendable.

I tip my hat to all of those who have and who are and who plan to serve :)

Thank you for your service.

if i may ask what was your rank when you left?

and thank you, my dad was in the Air Force ( i cant remember how long) he was part of dessert storm and he was deployed to Saudi ( i dont know how long he was there ). Yeah I've seen some of the stuff they do to train the P.J.s its some really hard core stuff call me crazy but jumping out of a perfectly good airplane to rescue a downed pilot sounds like a heck of a job to have and i know thats not all they do but from everything that I've heard it really peaks my interest. I really like the motto "That others may live"

Ah, thank you! When I was discharged I was an airman. Never got to rank up (my situation was one heck of a scenario). Nobody in my family was military except for my grandfather, who was a sergeant in the Air Corps. before it became the Air Force. PJs are pretty crazy (the job, I mean). My squadron was next to the PJs', so I got a lot of the inside scoop as to what they went through. Absolutely crazy. I'll tell you one thing, I could never do it and actually pull through. Crazy intense physical training.

oh that stinks that you never got to rank up.

yea both my dad and granddad where in the military. my great grandpa has a interesting story about working in the navy yard

and yea i gotta work and work to get into shape now if i want to do that

I personnally want to go into the Army and eventually work my way up to the Rangers. Though I am going through college first which will give me an autamatic rank up.

ok come on now theres gotta be more people here who want to join the military

Either the U.S. Nurse Corps, U.S. Medical Specialist Corps, or the Canadian Forces Medical Service.

Awesome heck maybe someday we will all cross paths and never even know it
best of luck to you my friend

I wanna be in the Air Force! I've always wanted to be an astronaut and to be one you have to be a pilot first. I'm actually having my first flying lesson this summer when I turn 15 and I can't wait! The only thing is that my mom doesn't want me to join the Air Force, but once I'm 18 she doesn't have a choice lol

Awesome

and you do know that if you want to be an astronaut you would join NASA which isnt part of the Air Force let alone the military Right?

United States Navy, go through Annapolis Naval Academy, become a pilot flying heavy cargo aircraft.
