Military Fall & Beyond tickets ?

So I have a few questions on how this works. First off do I understand it right. Can my grandfather (retired from army) purchase all six tickets for the rest of the family (non military)? But they have to be activated by him or my grandma? Which will not be an issue. We will go to all the parks together. Is this a 4 day park hopper only if you stay at the resort? Or can we stay off property? If we choose to stay on property for 4 days, can we use this with the stay and get the free dining?

Sorry for all the questions just trying to understand how it all works.

Yes to:

-Grandfather buys all six tickets. Activates them using his retired military ID card.
-Can be used whether you stay onsite or not.

No to:
Cannot be used for "free dining" promotion but you CAN add the Dining Plan at cost if you stay onsite.

If you stay on-site, not sure about the FD...we never do free dining, as it isn't a good deal for us, but I *think* you have to have room tickets with the room in order to do free dining.

If you are interested in staying on-site, you might want to check into military salute room only discounts for the time you are going. We're currently booked at CR with 40% off using the military discount.

Awesome! Ill look into that! Is it on the disney site? Can he book all the rooms under his military id or only his room?

The military rates don't show on the site, you have to call. I call 1-407-W-DISNEY. The rate varies by room category, I think 30% for value, 35% for moderate and 40% for deluxe/villas. Availability varies between resorts.

You can buy the tickets in advance at MWR/ITT locations, at Shades of Green once you get to WDW, or I *think* at the ticket window, although you'll pay more there due to taxes. Not as sure on the tickets, as although we're entitled to 12 tickets, they aren't as good a deal for us as buying tickets at Shades of Green once we arrive.
