Military discounts at WDW?

I am trying to research my best options for our Feb. 2011 trip to WDW. There will be 6 of us total (4 adults,2 kids) . I have looked into the Shades of Green and then at POP. Am I missing something, or are we not going to be better off (money wise) to stay at POP? Noticed that if you stay at SOG that you can't book the dining plan, we calculated the price with the plan and without and we will be better off with the plan. The room rates ,unless I messed up, seemed to be cheaper at POP, and the ticket pricing I found was only a $5 savings. Someone point me in a different direction if I am looking at this all wrong. Any tips, corrections, etc will be great appreciated!!!!

you don"t pay the sales tax and hotel tax if you stay at SOG and same with the tickets

The rooms are also larger at SOG, but who stays in their rooms??? Be looking for special military tickets. The past two years, they've offered $99 tickets to military and also a % of their rooms. Call Disney to see what they have to offer.

I think that you will come out staying "disney". SOG charges by the rank of the sponsor and does not include the dining as you have mentioned. If DD is what you want, then go "disney" and get the tickets from the Military salute or the MYW if they are available next year!
