Military Discount

We're starting to plan our trip for late this fall and was just wondering if anyone knows when Disney might announce if they will be extending the discount beyond September 30th. If we can get the discount we will be staying at AKL; if not back to Shades of Green.

There is no indication yet that they will extend it. There is a lot of speculation that they will NOT extend it after doing a military promotion every year since 2009.

However, only Disney knows for sure. Keep checking the DIS!

We are also waiting on news of a military discount. Once we get that info we can plan better where we'll stay and how many days. We did Shades of Green in Feb and it's a very nice hotel. The rooms are large and that may have spoiled me a bit and it was great being so close to the Poly but I like the extra Disney themes of the other resorts. If no discounts we'll be back at SOG again. He really keeps up with all the goings on and until I read his page I was unaware that the DOD had anything to do with Military Salute discounts. Disney negotiated with the military on the terms and eligibility. Anyway if you haven't already you should really check the site out, there is tons of info.

Hard to tell. I have only read a lot of we'll have to wait and see type comments.

The staff writer for Military Times, Jon Anderson quotes a Disney spokesman as saying, "“Hopefully we’ll have something to announce by early this summer”
