Military Discount Tickets

Sorry, I'm a little confused... If you have to exchange it doesn't that mean you have to go to one of the ticket booths first? (been a while since I've been to Disneyland...) Thank you so much!

No, you don't have to stop by a ticket booth (at least you don't for the e-tickets from DL's website). You just take your paper print-out directly to one of the entrance turnstyles and they will exchange it there for a smaller credit-card size ticket. Sounds like these will be the same!

I know at DisneyWorld you need the military person or spouse with you to activate the tickets. Is it the same at Disneyland?? If you prepurchase on base are they considered active at Disneyland without doing anything extra?

I have the same question. The 4 of us are going to DL with my parents (who have offered to purchase our tickets through the military base.....Dad is retired military). We were going to arrive one day prior to Mom & Dad.....does Dad have to enter the parks with us the first time we use these tickets and show military ID? Or do you just have to show military ID when you purchase the tickets? He would buy them in advance on base. According to the info on mousesavers, the tickets can be purchased for family and friends. Hmmmm.

My dad has bought our tickets from the base for previous trips, but I can't remember what happened when we first used them because we were all together.

Also....I should mention that these don't sound like they have a Magic Morning. We tried to get in early on a previous trip without realizing that the military tickets were not Bonus tickets. Not a big deal...we just killed time in DTD. I guess I just assumed that all 3-day tickets were Bonus tickets. Just a heads up for others who might assume the same thing.

Thanks so much to the OP for posting this info!

Would love to hear from anyone who uses these tickets during the current promo. Sounds like the military personnel needs to be with you..."In addition, all six must be purchased at the same time and one of the six must be for use by the eligible member of the U.S. military (or spouse). Valid military identification is required." according to the Disney blog post. Maybe I am misinterpreting the words :confused3 Either way looking forward to our trip in Dec :cool1:

A PR Manager for the Disney Resort posted the following on the Disney Blog:

Since a valid military ID is required to activate the tickets at first use, the military member or spouse must be with the friends when they first use the ticket.

Since the deal is so good.....we will have to push our trip back a day to enter the parks with my Dad.

We live in upstate New York and I'm only going to be in California for three days. so I called out to Disneyland to see how to get the ticket. I tried three different numbers and they didn't have a clue. So I figgered I'd come over on the DIS because you guys always know everything. Sure enough . . .

Is there any way to verify that these tickets can, indeed, be bought at the ticket booths? Even if I drive the 90 miles to West Point, they aren't likely to carry west Coast tickets.

It still sounds like there's a chance that Disneyland tickets don't have to be "activated" the way Disneyworld tickets do. (according to an earlier post) Hopefully someone here will post more. Probably just wishful thinking on my part... Would make schedules alot easier...

Even though the OP said yes, all of the written information I have found, INCLUDING the official Disneyland announcement on their blog, is saying no, that they must be purchased on base. Unless you can speak to someone at Disneyland on the phone, or can find official written confirmation first, I don't know if I would trust that they'll be sold at the ticket booths.

My father and myself went to the base ITT today, they said you have to buy them at the base. They also said the ID holder has to be at the gate, with their Military ID to activate the tickets.

She said they aren't like the other tickets we can get at the same place. These are not activated. If you buy the regular tickets at the regular price, those are already activated.

They have to special order the $99 tickets. They also gave us a paper where we have to fill out all the names and information on who is going to be getting/using these tickets.

Since they had people who abused it last year they are doing it this way this year. So they are being really strict about it. So I hope this information helps some what.

That information definitely helps, thank you.

Your welcome <3.

I was really interested in this deal, so I made him go today. Our trip is next month and we haven't bought tickets yet so, I would definatly jump on this then paying the extra $70.

They also do have the block out dates listed and that so, just have to keep that in mind.

I called Disneyland's ticket office today and specifically asked "if I buy the tickets on base, does the military member need to be present at the time of admission"? And the person on the phone said no, no military ID would be necessary at the time of admission (only at the time of purchase)

They did say that each ticket would have each individual's name on them, and that each person would have to have ID on them verifying their own identity - but I was specifically told that the military member would nto need to be present at the time of admission.

Is this another case of misinformation coming from the ticket office?

I think so, because I was told specfically that the member who bought the tickets have to be there. Because of the making sure you don't get more then 6 tickets.

You don't have to have the person if its a regular ticket, regular priced ticket from the base though. Only the $99 one they have to be there.

Does anyone know if you can get DL and WDW tickets, or is it just one park or the other?

We are headed to Florida in November and the to California in May 2011 and would love to take advantage of both if it is possible, but would completely understand if it was one or the other.

Thanks!

It does help! Now, if I could just get my hands on that paper!

GOOD question. I'd like to know the answer to that one too. Only in our case, it's me to California in January and both of us to WDW in May.

In '09 we did both... We were in Pensacola in January, so I took a long weekend for my son's birthday. By April, my birthday, we were back in California. They are different programs, so I think that is why. WDW was a 5 day ticket, DL a 3 day ticket. I guess the computers aren't connected from coast to coast!

DH is a vet. of the Air Force. We are 3 hours from the closest base. Is there any way for us to get tickets?

Retired? us too. I finally got an answer from DL customer service - According to Linda Trump, Disneyland resort Guest communications "you will be please to know that you may also purchase these tickets at any one of our ticket booths on the day of your visit."

My sister was at DLR yesterday and stopped by Guest Services to ask about the entry policy specifically on these $99 tickets. The CM said she was familiar with the new ticket package and the restrictions and said that the service member DOES NOT need to be present for family members to utilize them. :thumbsup2
