Hi guys,
Another family who is traveling with us next week to Disneyland told me last night they planned to buy the Military tickets since her dad was in the Military. I thought I read on here that in order to redeem those tickets the person who is active or inactive needed to be present. Is this correct?? I dont want them to get those tickets and get to the gate and have issues. She says she was told this was okay to do. Any experiences? i

I think it depends which tickets they are buying. Last year, we used the normal military discount tickets (bought on base by the military person)without having the military person present when we went into Disneyland. When we go this year we are using the special "Salute the troops" tickets. These are bought on base by the military person and we were told the military person has to be with us at Disneyland to use those.
Thats just what we were told though.

We had my uncle (military) buy the tickets on base that we used for our trip last month. I had the same concern as you do. It worked out fine. I understand the 'Salute the Troops" tickets is a much bigger discount then the regular military discount.

okay cool thanks so as long as it's not the Salute type ticket they should be okay. Thanks for the info.

Hi all, just wondering what the "regular" military discount would be for both adult and child tickets? I added tickets to our reservations but just realized I come from a military family and could get mom to buy them on base for us. Thank you for any information. :)

The only price I think I remember off the top of my head is $156 for an adult 3 day park hopper. Have your family member call the base and check on the prices for you! They are usually very happy to tell you! Last year I know the tickets from the base were cheaper than AAA discount and my union discount.

Many thanks, kirstie101. I'll call them today ... :)

Hola! We are using the Salute tickets next week... and you just need someone with a Military ID to redeem the tickets... the Active or Retired member would need to be present at the MWR to receive the voucher for the free 3 day park hopper pass... but a spouse can buy the companion tickets and a spouse can redeem the vouchers at DL with a current ID card. (If the military member had to be there then any family with a deployed soldier would be excluded from the offer). The vouchers must be used by 6/12/09.

Hope this helps!

Hmm. This has me thinking. Would the 3-day Military tickets (not the special salute tickets) get those 2 extra days that the promotion is now? I know if I get them through my credit union our 3-day PH will be valid for 5 days and I was wondering if the Military tickets were the same as well. If so I may need to give my dad a call. If not, no big deal.
