We are staying at the Contemporary in November with friends who have DVC. They have booked a 2 bedroom suite for the 7 of us. Yesterday another friend texted me that her family would like to join us. Can we apply a military discount ( if its released past October of course) to their room even though we are staying in DVC? MH and I both have military IDs

I'm not positive, but I think that the person eligible for the discount has to be in the room.

At the very least one of the card holders must be in the room, military rooms are very limited so book early. try Davids Vacation Club for a room there, might be a cheaper way to go.

We booked two rooms under the military promotion before (the max per Military Member is 3). We were advised we needed to have the reservations linked and be staying in one of the rooms. Since you are staying DVC under someone else, you would not be able to book the room for a friend unless you or the service member were in the room as well. If you were both too book rooms, you could do it. I am not sure about staying at separate resorts (have heard mixed info on that but the general concensus is you have to be same resort) but you must have a room under the rate as well in order to book a second.

FWIW - you can always scout for a discount depending on when you're going. Some of the room discounts are pretty close to the military!

Thanks, I know separate resorts wont work, Ive asked that before. I figured it wouldn't work but figured I would explore all options.
