Ok I am trying to book a trip for 05-07 February...yes I know crazy huh? But it will be Disneyland Paris, and well it is very impromptu as hubby is military and deploying soon! SOOO what better way to do a send off? haha We miss DW and well this is the best we can do at the moment....so my question is

Do you know of a military ticket discount for DLRP??? Someone told me we can get them for 15 (euros or dollars I am not sure, but really doesn't matter too much)? Do you know how I would find out about this for sure. They did say you have to go to the ticket booth to get them..any insight would be great!

I kind of posted this on the DLRP site, but most of them are Europeans and not American's trying to go, so I am not sure they would know!

Hoping you can help!

According to a google search, an army times article comes up and says nope. There is also no mil. discount at the hong kong park. "Disneyland Paris

No military discounts. Adult one-day tickets are about $67, two-day passes are $143 and three-day passes will set you back $178."

15 euros sounds too cheap.

Can you see if the travel agent on base has some hotel package offer or something? Have a great time.

yeah I can't find anything either! I thought it was too cheap personally, but thought I would check! I know the travel agent on the air force base said DLP doesn't do military discounts! :)

I'd go w/ that then. W/ the kids on base I imagine the AF travel person would know what they're talking about. Where are you at ? We were on Ramstein in the 80s...Flugtag 88 anyone ?

We bought tickets through SATO on base at a reduced rate in 09. We were stationed in Baumholder. Where in Germany are you?

I've heard people talk about DLP on Army wives message boards that that have military discounts....just not for our military :( How do you like living in Germany?? We are headed there (Hohenfels) in June/July timeframe! I had to get one more Disney trip in before we move, but I've priced ticket/packages there and they arent "too" expensive.

We went to DLP while we were stationed in Italy a couple of years ago. I ended up booking a trip online through their site. It was about 300 euros for three night in one of their hotels and park hopper tickets for 3 days. We went in October which was off season. It was great!!!

I am in Baumholder! haha What a crazy place! I am sure there are worse places than this! We live off post so it really isn't that bad! Traveling is pretty easy from here...once we get out of the crazy snow, it will be even easier! haha The Euro really stinks right now, so things are pretty expensive! But I am a good bargain hunter, so that helps! haha

Hohenfels...WOW you will get a TON of snow! I am glad we aren't there just for that reason! They get hammered with snow! Make sure you have plenty of warm clothes! :) This country is just beautiful, there are amazing once in a lifetime opportunities here and that helps when you get homesick! I do miss the little things, we as Americans have endless choices for EVERYTHING, and you just don't have that here! But it is an amazing experience that I honestly wouldn't trade for anything!

We too did one last trip to DW in June before we moved over here...had a blast and loved it! Now we really want to go to DLRP before dad leaves...I just wish we knew about the extra day off before a week out! haha That's the Army life I suppose!

We are going to Ramstein today to talk to a travel agent and see if they can get us a better deal than what we have right now. We have 2 nights 3 days park hoppers, breakfast included (the hotel is not on resort, but one of their preferred properties...so still get EMH and free shuttles to the parks!) For 2 adults, 8 yr old and 6 old for $750 USD. I am hoping they can match or get us on sight for about the same! We shall see! I will keep ya posted!!!

gibsontrio....if you have any questions feel free to ask away! I was a little overwhelmed with the whole moving out of the country thing when we did it, it really isn't all that bad! It will take some adjusting and attitude is EVERYTHING! :)

Off to the travel agent!!! Keeping fingers crossed for good news!:yay::yay:

Good luck and keep us updated (I KNOW I will be following in your footsteps eventually)!!
I've heard about the snow and have been stocking up on "warmy weather gear" . My first choice was Hawaii so i'm not crazy about the cold weather, but Germany is one of those once in a lifetime chances ya gotta take, right? I'm trying to come to terms losing all those "American" comforts. We will have to live off post as well and to be honest, it scares me! But you are right , attitude is everything and I plan on seeing EVERYTHING i possibly can when we get there (going to have to do alot of hiking to burn off all those calories i'm going to drink!!) Do you find it harder to deal with your hubby being deployed while you are there? I have a friend here (Ft Knox) who is PCS'ing to Baumholder in April (her hubby is deploying as well) She's pregnant and I know its hard enough having a baby on your own, not to mention being in a different country.
Well HAVE FUN!!!!! and please keep us (me) posted on your trip!! There's only one thing better than and Army wife.....a Disney loving Army wife :)

No idea about DLPR discounts but waving because we used to live at Hahn AB (now the Hahn Airport, of course). Hunsruck is a GREAT place to live, unfortunately most folks don't realize that til they come back. ENJOY it. (And have some Schwenkbraten for me. :thumbsup2

We were stationed in Vilseck and Wurzburg for about 6 years. Travelled a lot and had a great time but couldn't wait to get back to the States. As soon as we got back here we started trying to figure out how to get back to Germany! Have no idea why we were in such a hurry to return to the U.S.! Hoping the next assignment takes us back!

OP... have a great time! We did DLP while we were there and had a great weekend!

You guys are so awesome! I love my disboard friends! My hubby always cracks up at me when I am on here. He says face lights up and I get soo excited! haha He is right I do! Especially, when I get to plan a trip! haha

Ok so we made a decision! I mean this is only a week out so we couldn't really sit and search for deals. So we went to the travel agent on the Air base here and booked our trip! They were about the same price as booking through Disney so since we were there, we just did it! We are staying the Hotel l'Elysee Val d'Europe for 2 nights 3 days with ph and we also get breakfast included. This isn't exactly Disney Property per se, but it is still right there on the Property. We still get continuous shuttles, and we have access to EMH so it's all good! We are pretty excited about this! Should be interesting because I haven't done a lot of planning for this one, which is odd. But we aren't doing any sit down meals, it was just to short notice! But we do want to eat out of the parks and get a real FRENCH dinner! :) I will keep you all posted as the trip fast approaches and after the trip!

Michelleinmaine.... HI!!! I couldn't understand why in the world people would volunteer to extend for another 3 years over here....but now I do! There is so much to see and our list is so long, I don't think it will be possible to get it all in in 3 years! Especially, with deployments! OIY!

gibsontrio....we just got here in July and this will be our first deployment over here. So I am not sure how that will go...we have deployments under our belt, just not an overseas one...or one in a foreign country before! haha We will get through it though, we always do! Your poor friend. Baumholder has this cloud over it...everyone hates it here, can't wait to go back to the states, the army sucks, life sucks, that's all you hear over here. I don't get it. It rains a lot sure, it has snowed quite a bit for us, but seriously, it isn't bad. I think those that complain live on post and don't leave it! Yeah I would be miserable living on post if I were them too, but I surely wouldn't stay home! If she needs help, tip or anything just send me a PM on here and I will send ya my email addy! :) It is a lot of fun around here! There is always something to do or see...you just have to get out and go see it! :)

We stayed at the Holiday Inn several times and it worked out fine...the shuttle was OK and so was the breakfast.

it will be cold, cold, cold. Bring hand and foot warmers.

You can also hit the mall/outlet mall at Val d'Europe....probably won't buy anything but stock up at Cora before you come home. Go to the Peanut Butter section and get some Speculoos --- it's the spread that they sell in the BX, from the Netherlands, that is like the cookie? It's like crack.

I bought a few princess costume items at DLRP and then sold them on Ebay once I got back to the US and DD outgrew them....people paid BIG money for them. Just a thought, if you're going to buy some anyway....it was a cape, some slippers and a crown.

Have a great time!

Gibsontrio, we were stationed in Hohenfels from 2002-2006, went to knox from 06-09 and have been in Heidelberg since August 09. OP While in Hohenfels we were able to get to DLP and I always made the ressies online with the DLP website, the specials they offered at the time were better than what SATO could do for us. We are planning on going sometime in May(daughter in college is bringing her roommate who is a seasonal worker at WDW).

The foreign parks tend to cater to people living in Europe/Asia.

However, since you're military, you should be able to buy discounted DLP admission through your ITT office on-post/base.
