Military and AAA discount tickets

We just booked our trip for January 2008. For Christmas we're asking our friends and family for WDW tickets. Now my brother and BIL are both in the military so they would likely buy the military tickets unless I tell them differently. My mom has AAA and would buy them with her AAA discount unless I tell them differently.

My question is: we're neither AAA nor military (though my husband is law enforcement if that matters in Disney's eyes). Would we still be allowed to use these tickets? Or should I have my family buy them elsewhere?

Can't answer your question directly, but CAN tell you that I was pricing tickets today and found a site that beat AAA's rates. If you sign up for the newsletter at mousesavers .com there is sometimes a link to exclusive rates at Undercover Tourist.

A DIS friend sent me October's newsletter, and the link has a great rate of "buy a 3 day park hopper, get 3 days free" (i.e., get a 6 day PH for price of 3). I checked the Disney.com price, and I think it showed the UT price was a little more than a true 3 day price, but it was still a great deal!

Yes, you will be able to use either military or AAA tickets. No problem. I'm both and besides saying where they were bought they are the same as any other tickets and do not require that any special ID be shown. Have fun

Why don't you buy all your tickets through the military? I purchased AP vouchers for a co-worker and his family using my military discount and they had no problem at all using them. Plus, I think there's no sales tax on military tickets.

Where do you buy the Military discounted tickets? Shades of Green Resort, or at the park entry gates?

Shades is the only place that you can get them at WDW. They are available through some bases, but I'm not sure which ones anymore.

ok so i know about those discounts. and i have AAA. but my girlfriend and i want to go down in '09 and we want to know if there were any student discounts on anything...rooms or tickets. we are just trying to go to wdw for the cheapest we can since we are still in college...and that costs a lot. thanks

I don't believe that Disney has discounts for collage students...The only place I've ever seen that was for Disney Paris, when I logged onto the french website and printed out a coupon for 50% off or something like that for admission for DLP...I've never seen any discounts like that for WDW or DL...

get the military tickets - there is no tax

There is also a ticket called the "stars and stripes" tickets, and those are unlimited park hoppers with unlimited "pluses" - these are our favorite tickets!
