Military 40% off Rack-Rate rooms

I would call back. I was able to book 2 connecting rooms at the pop in June using the 40% military code. I think I also read someone booking 3 rooms using the code. Good luck and keep trying. You are also able to add dining (counter or basic plan).:dance3:

Thanks for the info, I'll keep trying. I really hope we can get two rooms or we won't be able to make this happen.

You just made my day with the news that you booked more than one room!

I have a question maybe someone can help me with.

We need to change our dates in June. My problem is I have a window of dates (depending on how many snow days my kids use this winter). If no snow days are used my kids will get out 5 days earlier, or if only 1 used 4 days earlier, etc. So right now I dont know the exact date we can leave. Can I book a package including all the dates, and then remove days as needed as long as it is within the 45 pay in full date?

We really want to take advantage of this great Military offer, and want to get down there as early in June as possible before it gets to hot and crowded. If we are able to leave a week earlier all the more better, just dont know when school will end. As of now we are having a mild winter, but I know that can change.

Thanks.

My question is i called to book the MYV code for 40% off room, i was told by CM that i could not add dining to get the 40% rate. Has anyone tried to add dining and still get 40%. CM told me it was a room only rate no package.

oh man...I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm worried about calling now, so many of you are having problems with it. Sounds like the cm's aren't sure of what's allowed or not. We are a family of 5 so I'm hoping for a mod, but if not I would need two rooms at a value. Now I have and our oldest DS also has a ID so maybe that would help, don't know, the more I read the more confusing this is all getting!!:scared:

You can add dining to the 40% room rate, but it's a different code.

Could you share this code with us. Is it posted on Mousesavers?

Also, I want to double check. My DB is a retired from the Air Force, not active during 2008, but he can still book a room for his family using the 40% off. Is this correct? Can he also take advantage of the free ticket for him and get the 5 day passes for his own family?

I am using the 4/3 code for my own family in June. :thumbsup2 We vacationed last year together at the beach and talked about planning a trip together to Disney. :surfweb: So, if I am reading your comments and the specifics of the deal correctly, it just might become a reality! The kids would love it!

I think someone asked earlier on the ticket thread about whether the 40% off rate was better than the 4/3 rate--I didn't want this to get lost in that big thread. I know I was curious, and I found this post in which someone took the time to calculate it all out. In most cases, when staying 7 days the 4/3 rate wins out. I was quite happy to find someone who figured it out (so I didn't have to! LOL)

I think this thread was comparing 40% off room plus tickets at the normal price compared to 4/3 deal.

If you are allowed to do both the military 40% off room rate and the Salute companion tickets (5 day passes at 99.00) with the free military member ticket, it would be a better option I think.

Not sure I have a real answer for either of your questions but know that for both offers your DB would have to have a valid and current military ID. Now that I think about he wouldn't qualify for the tickets because he's not Active Duty. It's for those who have served within the past year.

Retiring from the Air Force and leaving it when your duty time is up are 2 different things. When you leave the Air Force and you don't retire from it (this goes for all military branches) you do not get any of the privileges that those who have served 20+ years and retire. So your DB can only be a retired military person if he's given 20+ years of his life to the military. If he has then yes he can take part of the 40% room discount because he's got a retiree ID, but not the ticket offer.

The ticket offer does apply to retirees.

The ticket offer does apply to retirees.

Thank you for that info. There were other places I was reading that stated that it didn't apply to retirees. I thought it was kind of dumb if it didn't because my FIL is retired AF.

No problem. There is a thread on the Theme Parks board with a comprehensive list of details that may help you.

Yes, a dependent can book a room. As long as you have a military id you are eligible for the discounts and promotions. Retired military and even DOD workers are able to use the discounts. All info. is on mousesavers.com. Hope this helps.

I'd like to know exactly where you read that DOD workers were eligible.

THIS IS THE EXACT EMAIL WE RESCEIVED FROM THE SGT. ABOUT THE TICKETS:
Complimentary 5-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" ticket

Park Hopper(r) and Water Park Fun & More options. This ticket is valid for
five days of admission into the four Walt Disney World(r) theme parks, plus a

both) may also make a one-time purchase of up to a maximum of five 5-Day

$99 per ticket, plus tax, for family members (including spouse) or friends.
Although this ticket for family members and friends does not include either
the Park Hopper(r) or Water Park Fun & More options, this ticket can be
upgraded to add either such option, or both, for an additional $25, plus tax,
per option. Actual prices may be less. All tickets and options are
non-transferable and must be used by December 23, 2009.

Activated members of the National Guard or Reservists (with orders showing
active status after January 1, 2008) and active or retired members of the
United States Coast Guard are also eligible to participate in this offer.

"Disney's Armed Forces Salute" tickets can be obtained only at participating

after January 1, 2008) will be required to be presented by the service member
(or spouse) for all ticket transactions (including to activate tickets at the
main entrance theme park ticket windows). See your military base ticket
office or click here for details.

FROM WHAT I GET FROM THIS IS YOU HAD TO BE ACTIVE LAST YEAR OR RETIRED WITH ACTIVE STATUS. I'VE CALLED THE BASE TO CONFIRM AND I WAS TOLD WE COULD GET THEM WITH MY DH MILITARY ID BECAUSE HE WAS A ACTIVE NATIONAL GUARD MEMBER LAST YEAR! HOPE THIS HELPS A LITTLE.

THIS IS WHAT MOUSESAVERS SAYS ABOUT THE ROOMS:
Military Offer - Save up to 40% on Rooms
Special deal for eligible members of the US Military*: Save up to 40% on rooms at select Disney Moderate Resorts!* For stays most nights 1/4/09-12/23/09, except not available at all 2/13-2/15, 4/4-4/18, 5/22-5/24, 7/3-7/4, 11/25-11/26/09.

Offer is also available at other select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. If you'd like to book these rates as part of a vacation package with the Dining Plan, there is a special code for doing so.

*Offer available to active duty military, activated reservists and retired military. Proof of Military eligibility is required.

The number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited. Minimum length of stay requirements may apply for Friday or Saturday arrivals. Savings based on non-discounted price for the same room. No group rates or other discounts apply. Advance reservations required. Additional per-adult charges apply if more than two adults per room.

I DON'T SEE ANYWHERE WHERE IT SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT DOD, BUT I'LL LOOK INTO, DH WORKS FOR DOD, BUT IS A GUARD RIGHT NOW, WILL TRY TO FIND OUT FOR SURE SO THOSE WHO ARE DOD WILL KNOW. COURSE IT MIGHT BE EASIER JUST TO CALL AND ASK, THEY DON'T HAVE TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE, NEVER HURT JUST TO MAKE A CALL AND ASK!!;)

HOPE SOME OF THIS HELPED.....:) ;)

FNB is the code to add dinning!!!

hmm. after reading it over a few times myself I just realized the 40% is for Mod. only, so I guess not much of a choice there for us, we'd have to go with POR cause their are 5 of us, is there another Mod. that sleeps 5 ?

That’s what I thought to but I was able to book a deluxe yesterday and the savings was about 1300. I was only going to save about 300 staying at a mod. The man I spoke with told me it is what up to 40% and not all resorts were giving that discount.

I booked Beach Club standard view 8 nights for two adults and one child with dinning plan for 2674.01. The price for the Coronado was 2012.67 for WV and 1800.67 for a SV.

Here are the prices I was quoted for WL
CL 3025.11
WV 2200.96
ST 2161.11

And Prices for Poly
CL 4213.11
TP 3505
GV 2700

Actually, as the previous reply said, it can apply to values and deluxes, too. You need to call with your dates and see because it's going to vary based on time of year and how many people already booked. I booked GF at the 40% off and it's less than it would have been even with the 4/3 deal (going in May, so could have done either one). Call and see what they have for your dates. Hope you get what you need! :goodvibes

If I understand correctly the thing about active duty from Jan08-Dec09 is for National Guard and Reservists I don't think it applies to the rest of the Military. I think if you retired prior to this you will still qualify for the discount.
