The 19 year old just got engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games). Her parents are reportedly happy for the young couple. I wish them luck...they're going to need it.

BTW reported by the Today Show citing People magazine VERY early this morning. It doesn't seem to be anywhere online yet other than some old speculative reports from March.

I wish her the best of luck. My parents were married at 19 and will be celebrating their 37th wedding anniversary this year, so I know that it can last. Problem is, she lives in Hollywood. I believe that Brad Paisley said it best:

Because outside of Hollywood people don't marry at 19? Of course they do...lots of them. She will be 20 in a few months. It's not like she's 15 and getting married.

I married at 18. By the time I was almost 20 I had been married a year. Married 18 years and going strong. My parents married at 18/23 and have been married for 38 years.

I was also engaged at 19 (two years before we got married). We celebrate our 20th anniversary today!

It has worked for us, but I would be none too pleased if one of my DDs came home engaged at 19. I hope things work out for Miley and Liam.

How people can compare themselves and their lives to a celebrity's is truly laughable...

Both have handlers and managers. Most celebrities have agendas. They may really be into each other but their celebrity is a part of the whole marketing process.

I know lots of teen marriages that made it, but even MORE that did not. Add the celebrity part and the percentages are astronomical.

I don't know or care if they make it but the comparison to a couple in Wisconsin and two kids who have been in the spotlight all their lives... nah. My Mom was married at 16 and was married for 60 years. My sister is celebrating her 50th next year. I would not compare their lives to "Hannah Montana".
