Mike' Make Over Madness!

Hey, Mike! So glad to see you posting. Congrats on another 3 down! You are doing so amazingly well! :cheer2: I hope you are tremendously proud of yourself!

Have a great day, sweetie! Have fun shopping! I LOVE shopping for fruits & veggies -- then I get so excited to go home and fix salads and cook veggies. It's a sickness, I tell you, a sickness! :teeth:

Hi Cam!

Just sent you a PM about the August Challenge! :)
If wanting to rush home to cook up the veggies is a sickness, i think it is one that we could all stand to "catch"! heheheheh!

Hope you are doing well!!
Mike :goodvibes

Glad to hear that things are settling down a bit and that you have some new books to enjoy. That's always so much fun!!!

Hi Mike.....congrats to you for hanging tough!! Wish I could say the same for me.....I failed for Aug - scale broke and I just about gave up.
But....today is a new day - in fact I'm finishing up my coffee and going to do my Walk Away the Pounds - starting slow.
My daughter is settling in very well at Albany and reports that her friends at RIC are doing well also!!!

Have a great day!!

Hey Mike, long time no post, but just wanted to say how great it is to see you continue to progress so much. I've been popping in from time to time and reading, reverting to my usual lurker self on message boards, but I've been watching and cheering you on (silently, sorry). Keep it up, then write the book!!

Hi Mike,

I'm signing off the boards for today, but I wanted to stop by and say hello! :wave2: Have a great weekend! :goodvibes

Okay... I'm back... I know I said I was logging off for the evening, but I changed my mind. (I'm a woman.... that's my perogative. ;) )

Now that work has slowed down somewhat, have you had a chance to plan your birthday trip? I can't tell you how many times I have planned and re-planned my trip in December. Once hours come out in October, I'll probably be re-planning again. :teeth:

My biggest issue with planning right now is how much to budget for gas. (We're driving from Ohio.) I originally budgeted $250, but then I added a $50 cushion just to be safe. Now, I may have to add another $100 depending on what the gas prices do. My DH thinks that they will stabilize soon. I hope he is right! :goodvibes

Hope you have a good weekend! Remember... R & R (Relaxing and Researching WDW) is a good thing. :goodvibes

Hi All!!

Been quite a day for me... first let me warn you that you may hear more about my bodily functions in this post than you may want to read about so I alert you now to skip to the next paragraph if you are so inclined... ok, with that out of the way... a few days this week I have been constipated, fun I know. Mostly because I have been low on good fibrous veggies and had no time to shop, also my water has been down. Well in the last 24hrs or so, I was able to... shall I say... get things going again. hehe. Why do I bring this up? Because I was feeling bloated and I knew it affected my weigh in this week. So I decided to weigh in again this morning. I know that I should wait a day to make sure I am really getting this number but I figured I would throw caution to the wind and claim the loss!! hehe so onto a "cleaner" paragraph for the weigh in...

... Ok, everyone with me know?? hehe! As of today I am now down 64lbs!!! I am going to add my new clippie and change my counters when I finish this post! hehe!! I decided to measure my circumference again today, and I have to date lost 8 inches around my midsection!!! :cool1:

Now on to even more exciting news. This week I made the decision that I was going to do a whole grocery shopping myself. Usually, I have gotten my groceries delivered by Peapod. I told myself it was because of the convenience but it was really because I couldn't physically do the shopping myself. I would be in too much back pain and sweating like I had run a marathon after the first aisle. So I told myself this week I would try it out & see what happened. Well I can tell you I was nearly crying when I was headed back to my car after shopping for over an hour!! Sure it was nice to sit down after the excursion but I did it! I walked the entire store, I stopped and browsed, I bagged my own groceries, etc.! I felt soo free!!! Like I was flying, you know? I know it was not like I walked on water or ran a mile even but it was a milestone for me! A great natural high!

I spent more than I wanted to shopping but I think I was just excited to have all the options there for me! hehe Tonight I am going to make a grilled eggplant lasagna. I will lightly olive oil eggplant slices and grill them on my George Foreman grill. Then I will combine some fresh mozz diced with fresh ricotta, maybe some spinach & roasted garlic too. I will layer it all in a baking dish with some low carb pasta sauce and top with more fresh mozz and parm. Should be delish! :) Today I had Alouette Garlic & Herb Cheese stuffed in celery sticks for lunch, so yummy!!

I reinvigorated & refreshed! I think I might go for a walk tonight with my iPod! We'll see! :goodvibes And for Tracy, I am indeed working on my trip planning. I sent my survey back to my Dreams Unlimited agent and hope to hear from her soon. I am really thinking of doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour this time! Moreso, I am hoping that I can be in good enough shape to not need to rent a scooter this trip! I have some chronic back pain that is not weight related but exacerbated by it. I hope that I can build my strength up enough by April! I am planning to start water aerobics this coming week once we can access the rec center again. There is an indoor walking track there too so I would like to walk & then swim after. We'll see! :)

I hope that everyone has a great day!

WOW, Mike! You are literally melting away before our eyes. :cool1:

I am so glad that you enjoyed your grocery shopping. Nothing on this journey is so minimal that it can't be mentioned. There is only one person who could walk on water, so we have to find our little pleasures where we can and doing something you haven't done in a long time is really worth telling the world about.

At the rate you are going, I will bet that you will be walking around WDW at a very nice pace. Your back must be feeling better already with some of the weight gone. I know that for myself, I started noticing a large decrease in aches and pains after losing 30lbs. It is amazing what we do to our bodies without thinking about it as we gain weight, but so much more amazing that we have a second chance to correct things and allow alot of physical problems to correct themselves as we venture along on this journey.

Hope you have a great night. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

It's always nice to be appreciated! Woot woot! I hope your start to the school year is calming down! :)

Have a great weekend!

Mike, your post brought me to tears! I am SO happy for you. The freedom you felt must be incredible! I am very , very proud!

You are so inspiring in your will and dedication. Maybe someday we will get to meet and I can give you the BIG HUG you totally need and deserve.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Mike you darn near made me cry! I am so proud of you and your grocery shop!!!! It's so amazing to get your life back and to be able to do all of these little things people take for granted. I remember when I was working downtown in Chicago I moved suburbs and had to change train lines. My old train line came in right across the street from my office but my new train came in at Union Station which was about 4 1/2 blocks from my office. It might as well have been a marathon. The first time I walked it I actually had to stop and rest halfway through. That feeling of being able to do something you never could before is such a high! And a very addicitve high at that!

Keep up the awesome work! I'm so proud of you!!! :cheer2:

P.S. Sorry my baking invaded your dreams! That gave me such a chuckle! Good thing it was imaginary sugar cookie dough!

Thanks Lesli!

You are right I do feel better already. I still get back pain but not as quickly as before. At my heaviest going into a convenience store to buy milk and pay for gas would get me screaming in pain. So I avoided so many opportunities because I was not sure if I would be able to rest adequately when walking. No more worrying about that!!! Walking around Disney all day will be a triumph, and even if I can't do the whole week unassisted, I will know I was victorious!

Hi Pearlieq!
Thanks so much for your support too (and sorry to you too if I made you teary! hehe!) It does feel great to do things again that others take for granted. I am also so happy that I could share my victory here with all of you because I know if I told people here how happy I was to go shopping they would definitely not get it.
Don't worry about your baking invading my dreams! :) Last night I dreamt I was eating the pretzel bread from Le Cellier while trying to escape from evil squirrels in my old high school! LOL

Thank you again & have a great day!
