Might have to switch to a cabin which includes free dining. Any thoughts on this?

Dh won't be able to take the trip with us in October, so that means no trailer. We can switch to cabins which are available for our stay during Halloween, and i was told it includes free dining, which we have never done. I was looking at the list thats included, but have never made that many reservations in advance. Has anyone done the free dining before?

We stay at the cabins every October with free dining. We love it.

Thank you! I hate to say it but i have been going to Disney since 1974 and have never stayed during free dining! been doing alot of research on it. really want to stay at the fort during our stay so the cabins would make a great choice instead of the travel trailer. how long in advance do you make your reservations for this?

We already made our reservations. You make your dining 180 days in advance and we are at 154 days. What I do is make a spreadsheet and determine which park we are going to on which day and base our dining reservations on that. We still do cook/ eat at our cabin. We will never stay anywhere else. The kids call it their Disney house.

ASAP, the restaurants fill up fast.

This for sure.
Our free dining trip was going to be in November before we changed over to the campsites. I had some meals booked and cancelled them. I was having some trouble getting some character meals at 180 days out and that was the week before thanksgiving.

Thanks everyone! When we first started going to Disney we never had to book meals or rides in advance. Things have really changed since 1974!
