Might be a dumb ?: Lanyards at Walmart?

So, I bought a bunch of inexpensive pins for my kids for our trip to Disney, but haven't bought any lanyards yet. I'm not really concerned with buying a Disney themed lanyard as it will be covered by pins anyway Instead I thought it might be fun to just get 4 different solid colors (so each kid has their own color). And it will probably be cheaper too. I'm looking for the flat lanyards, not the cord style, because I think they will be better for holding pins. My dollar store didn't have any lanyards. I want to go to Walmart, but I'm not sure what department of the store to look in. Anyone have an idea?

And while we're talking about lanyards, any ideas about holders to hang on them that are good? I want to put a little ID card for each kid with my cell # in case any of them get lost, plus maybe their ticket. I don't know yet really LOL

Two years ago, when I went back to teaching pre-K I needed a lanyard for my classroom key and whistle. You would think they would be easy to find. No, they were not. I ended up buying the cord one at Longs because that was all I could find. I looked everywhere- Walmart, Target, etc. Even the Disney store didn't have any. I didn't like the cord one either because it isn't good for pins and I wanted to put pins on it to wear at school. Finally, we had book fair at our school and they sold little do-dads up by the register. That is where I found my current lanyard.

So, all that to tell you, it wasn't easy. I thought they would be everywhere. Good luck and I all can say is keep your eyes open everywhere you go.

Hmmm... I would try Office Depot or Staples instead. I believe they carry them there.

If you have a teacher supply store in town...try there. I don't knwo which kind they will carry, but they usually carry that kind of stuff.

Seriously- I found some in the key making department...They have several colors of the wide flat lanyards- and they are not that expensive either....

I found some VERY cute Disney Princess lanyards in the $1 section at Target recently. They had blue Cinderella and pink Ariel. They are super soft fabric and seem comfortable to wear. Good luck finding them!

I also found some cute Disney flat lanyards (Princess, Hannah Montana and Camp Rock) at my local Michaels in the $1 section. They are so soft and nice, I wish I would have picked up a few extras now!

OP has 4 boys, I'm pretty sure they won't want Princess lanyards. LOL Andrea, we just buy them at DL, they aren't that $$$ and they have smaller ones for the kids, you could get the older boys adult sizes and the littler guys the kids size, they have a green one and a blue one for the boys. Or, go to mousepinsonline.com and buy them there, they have flat lanyards for sale. As for pouches, we always get ours at DL too, they are about $5 there.

If you have a Dollar store, try looking there. The one we have in town (which is where we stocked up on tons of glow sticks) had a huge selection of lanyards. Lots and lots of them. They also sold the little ID pouches with them as well.

Kerri, it's good to know that I can wait until we get there because the lanyards are not that expensive. I was just trying to find them soon as I'm giving the boys little presents before we leave. I will check out that mousepins link you gave me earlier too. I forgot about that.
