midway airport

Has anyone used ata out of midway? I have already chosen my seats and I wanted an exit row seat the person i spoke with said that they block those rows of seats you can only get those seats on the day of the flight somehow that just does not sound right to me! Are they correct or did i just get a person who did not know what they were talking about. Also how much is it to park at midway? I have an early morning flight and I just hate to have someone wake up at 4 to drive me. Can someone please help me I have never flown out of midway much less ata but the price was right i usually only do flights out of ohare

Actually a lot of airlines will not preassign the exit row. They want to see you and verify you meet the requirements.

I'm not sure about the seating assignments, but long-term parking at Midway is $10 a day.

When we went to Florida in January of 2003, the line was pretty long (we left at 6am), so I definitely suggest getting there early. ATA is a pretty popular airline especially for going to Florida, so make sure you get there at least an hour in advance, I would say more. You never really know, but best to be on the safe side!

Oh yeah the airport itself is really nice! Recently underwent lots of construction and renovation and is really nice, IMO.

I wondered about that. It's been years since I flew into Midway but it always seemed cramped and dated. On "Airline" it looks like a completely different airport.

Midway is gorgeous now!!
We fly ATA out of Midway to Orlando twice a month. I've found that the best way to get exit rows is by doing online checkin. They open the exit rows and bulkheads online, so you can change your seats while doing the checkin. Just be careful...some exit row seats are not all that great. Know your aircraft and choose wisely!

To get an exit row seat on ATA, you have to change at the time you check-in. If you used electronic ticketing, you can do this from home using your PC if you will not have checked baggage or using the express check-in kiosks at Midway whether you have checked baggage or not. We always have checked luggage, so we use the express check-in kiosk at the airport. This allows us to bypass the lines at the counter. You are asked if you want to change you seat selection(s) as you go through the check-in process. For the early morning flight MDW-MCO (usually departing sometime in the 6:50-7:00 am time frame), we arrive at the airport about 5:15 am. We have usually checked in and handed over our checked bags within 5 minutes of arrival at the terminal. It amazes me how few people use the express check-in, since I suspect many of those standing in the long lines have also used e-ticketing.
