Middle names

Do you like your middle name? Do you ever use it?

Nope, never use mine. I don't hate it, more like dislike. Hubby HATES his, tries to keep it a secret from friends. He gets angry if his siblings ever say it.

I disliked mine when I was younger, it is a little weird, and I have to explain the whole story when someone asks what it is, but now I like it, I wouldn't like it to be my first name though, to weird. It is part of my user name (the *s*) and I always sign everything with my middle initial, including the different pass logs at work where you could pretty much sign anything.

I sign my middle initial on everything but I never use my full middle name. My mom has the same full name except we have Sr. and Jr. sometimes and my middle name is my grandmom's name which is Frances and sometimes it gets confusing and most people don't know that francEs is for girls and francIs is for boys. so it's kind of boyish I suppose.....Good topic......I think alot of people hate their middle name and I think that the only reason they have that middle name is because of an older relative that would have been hurt or upset not having their name included somehow........Great topic!

My middle name is boring. "Diane". It's a great <i>first name</i> but very boring as a middle name.

I like my first name, though. Not too many people share the name "Katholyn" with me. I like that

Nope, I hate my middle name. I use my middle initial sometimes.

Alan, my Allen uses his middle name too. He hates his first name more than I hate my middle name.

Love mine - it's my mother's AND my paternal grandmother's! Funny how that worked out. It'll be my first daughter's, as well.

I hated my middle name when I was younger 'Deon' its my mom's middle name as well. My grandmother picked it because her two brothers were named Dwayne and Leon. (sounds like a boys name to me).

On a different note my husband goes by his middle name as well as his father and about 70% of his relatives...lol I don't know why they do. My husbad was named after an uncle who died in Vietnam so he started feeling like it was a big responsibility to live up to his name. So he changed it to his middle name.

The only time my middle name gets used is when I'm in trouble with my mother!
Whenever I hear "MARIE" I know I'm in for it!

Both of my parents go by their middle names. In fact, I've never heard anyone refer to them by their first names. And the funny thing is that their first names (Carlton and Mary) are common names and their middle names (Dwight and Maxine) are a bit more unique. Go figure.

I've always signed my full name, but my handwriting is so bad that most folks assume that I am only signing my middle initial. I neither like nor dislike my middle name.

When it came time to name our daughter, we gave her the same middle name (Ellen) as her mother and her grandmother.

My sister all three of her children her maiden name as their middle name.

I think that my family is wierd.

I don't particularly care for mine, and I'll be using my maiden name as my middle name when I get married in December.

I don't use my middle name at all. I don't even sign my middle intial when I sign something. Not a matter of like or dislike, I just don't use it.

It's Perie (accent over the "e" ).... and I NEVER tell anyone that!
No one knows how to pronouce it.. its pier(like a dock) eeeeee.
Its persian for Princess (and I'm about as white they come.) My mother was all into these exotic names when I she named me, hence the first name Melora which I love (now) but have never grown to like or even tolerate the middle name. I wanna smack people when they say it.

I was actually born Alicia Kay but when my mom adopted me she didn't think that was fancy enough so she changed it. Not sure I would have liked Kay for a middle name anyway..whenever I tell anyone what my name used to be they always say "and what does the "K" stand for?"
