Hi everyone,
We will be arriving on WDW property around noon in late august 2007. We will be 2 twenty-something couples, and the other woman is a newbie. i'd like to spend our arrival day in the MK, with dinner at LTT, Spectro and Wishes. What should our strategy be when we first arrive? I've never gotten to the MK at mid-day. I know we'll want to use fastpass, but I thought I'd get some input from you guys on how to give her that first taste of disney magic.

I am also going this August and will be ariving mid-afternoon at MK. My plan is to grab a fastpass first for something (haven't decided what yet) and then riding something with generally short lines such as "its a small world" i know its not everyones favorite but its a good way to get right into the magic without having to wait on a huge line for your first ride or waiting to use your first fastpass.

Those are great ideas. does anyone else have some hints?

HM and POTC are usually fast movers even in midday. And since you have a newbie with you, IMHO a 'classic' ride is the perfect place to start. I would try to grab a FP for one of the bigger attractions such as Splash, Big Thunder, or Space Mtn's before heading to the other attractions, if there are any left when you arrive.

We usually arrive midday as well. Our first park is, by tradition, the MK. Pirates of the Caribbean is definitely fast moving. I'd head into adventureland, grab a fastpass for the Jungle Cruise (I've waited in horrible lines for this, expecially at midday) and ride Pirates or do The Tiki room while we waited. With time left over, frontierland would be great for a newbie. The big rides like Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain are classics and should be ridden by all! Then Tomorrowland for Space Mountain, and maybe the TTA. Fantasyland for the Carousel and Dumbo (which, in my family, must be ridden at least once or you can't say you've been to disney). Liberty Square for Haunted Mansion. Even for twenty-somethings, this should work. Especially with a newbie in your group. Don't forget Fireworks! Hope you enjoy it!
