Mid day breaks and travel time

I am trying to schedule mid day breaks (2 little ones need naps) but having a little trouble figuring out how much time I really need. Any advice? Specifically how much travel time do I need? We will be driving and I know at mk there is the whole parking, tram, ferry/monorail process. How long does that all take? We are driving to mk from pop century one day and the dolphin the other day. We are also driving from pop to ak and Epcot.

The pita part of MK is that it's not connected to the parking lot. So you have to return to the TTC parking lot, so you need to figure an extra 15 minutes just to get to your car from MK.
I believe it's about a little less than 15 minutes drive to and from Pop, and even less from the Dolphin. So my guess would be about 30 -40 minutes travel time each way. (From park to room) The other parks will be shorter travel times.
Depending on where and how you're doing lunch, I would plan a 3 -4 hour break, maybe from 11:30 - 3:00 - 3:30...
We used to take longer breaks, getting lunch in the park and then leaving. Napping and then returning around 4 pm.
Sometimes we would just make Sammies in our room, but after nap, have a little Snack, head to the parks and have a cool TS dinner.
I would plan at least 3 hours though...
Depending on the buses and how long between, it's sometimes a lot faster from MK to resort to use Disney transport.

I always stay offsite and always have a rental car and i will say that MK is a pain if you're in a rush. From your car to actually being in the park is AT LEAST 20 minutes. And that is if you catch the ferry, monorail or bus quickly. During peak hours or peak seasons, that 20 minutes can become MUCH longer.

I think 1hour realistically to travel. This goes back a while for me, but I think the wear n tear for adults/kiddos is too much to go back to a resort for an hour or 2 reprieve.
We used to take my kiddo on the monorail ( MK or Epcot) and it was cool, relaxing ride... You can stay on a re loop if you wish. Then we d hop off at a resort n while he napped in the stroller, we'd grab a snack/cocktail, or walk around there, cool off n unwind. Before you know it that 1 1/2 hour passed n we d head back to the park or not. ( there were days we just swam/played at pool)
That being said, we did not do commando style all day/night with a little one. Didn't need the stress of that , so if we missed things.. Whatever, because the visits were relaxed, fun n All were content!
Have a magical visit!
