I think you'll do fine since you're obviously thinking about your diet ahead of time. That'll help you to make better choices throughout your trip. I have found that I really don't eat a lot differently at WDW than I do at home. There are healthy choices at almost all WDW restaurants. It's just a matter of having the mindset that you're going to eat as you normally do, instead of eating things you'd never eat at home just because you're on vacation.

I did have a couple of splurges last vacation, but then I have occasional splurges at home too.

I also made a few trips to the health club to work out while I was on vacation. Even though I was doing all that walking in the parks, I still felt better getting a few workouts in instead of taking the whole week off. I plan to do the same thing next month.

I think you've already...at least halfway...beaten the battle. You realize it isn't easy to eat healthy when toolin' around the world and you are making choices to stay healthy.

Last year, 3 weeks before our very first Disney cruise I was diagnosed diabetic and with metabolic syndrome. My endrocrinologist put me on a 12 carb/day diet...I thought I'd die for sure...especially on the cruise that I'd bee planning and drooling over the yummy foods I'd read about for a year. Well, we walked a lot, I ate healthy foods and some not so healthy ones, but I made the choices...if I wanted to splurge then I ate very healthy at the other meals and walked more. My blood sugar stayed in an acceptable range and when I returned I went to my 30 day check-up...I had lost 8 pounds. WOOHOO!

Now comes my problem...it's been 6 months, I've lost almost 20 pounds, feel better and am heading to WDW like you. Problem? I just can't eat huge meals anymore...my body isn't conditioned for it and when I did it at the holidays I paid for days with the yucky feeling of my body telling me to not do it again. I can't decide what to do...order the meal and leave so much food...share...kids menu....what to do...

Good luck to you! I can sympathize with you on the diet and the DS...almost a teenager...mine will be 13 in less than 4 weeks...we'll celebrate his belated b-day at WDW...and like you....that is IF he lives that long....I hear my mom laughing and telling me...."with roses, you get thorns".
