Dh just got off work and we will be leaving for ATL as soon as he gets home. (15-20 minutes from now.)

I'm a little nervous about trying to post about BWV after DVC Mike's great trippie.

It will just be the two of us. We don't have kids.

I thought I would go ahead and give a preview of our trip report. We plan to post lots of pictures. (We finally figured photobucket out!!)

Dh - the real Mickey's Apprentice - 43 loves WDW as much as I do.
ME - usually Mickey'sApprentice - 39 loves Disney and the DIS

We tend to go pretty commando.

OK, DH is ready to go. Its time to pack up the lap top. The hotel tonight charges $12 for internet. Don't tell Disney that they could be charging $12. We'll probably post again tomorrow. It may be Saturday though. Does POR charge?

Hope you are having safe travels and we will be here waiting for you when you arrive "home." :thumbsup2

You have a lot of great plans and ADR's can't wait to see all of your pictures!! Have fun! :goodvibes

Safe travels and have a great time.

Looking forward to your trip report and many, many pictures. It will be a few months before we get there so I enjoy all of them.

Quick update:

We are at the Atlanta Airport now!

We got here over 2 hours early and got through security and to our gate in less than 20 minutes.

It looks like I'll get to catch up on the DIS and do a little work too!

I didn't sleep at all last night...Must I say it...I'm too excited!! I went ahead and got fully dressed and made up by 4:30 a.m.

Dh was more than thrilled that I interrupted his sleep. :confused3

We'll take lots of pics tonight at POR and DTD and post them when we get to our room at BWV tomorrow night.

Hey, come on down fellow Alabama DVC'ers. Lots of 'Bama and Texas stuff here this week. You can tell who is on Spring Break.

Anyway, we are at OKW until Sunday. See you soon...

Are you there yet? Are you there yet? :rotfl: :lmao:

We're Here!!

We didn't have internet service at POR. We got back from AK about 3pm.

My next post will give lots of information.

Left you a PM.

We are here and it is wonderful!!

(We've got to head out soon for our 6:30 ADR at LTT, but I will give the highlights. - I'll post some pics when we get in tonight.)

We have taken lots and lots of pictures!!

I'm really glad that everyone is looking forward to our trippie. I'm going to tell family and friends about it, so everybody be nice. As for family and friends, I'm not really going to go on and on and on about DVC. You guys get enough of that at home.

We got to POR about 2pm yesterday afternoon and were offered 2 std. beds in AB or a king room on the mansion side. We took a mansion room. It was very nice. I really love POR. It is so nice and homey.

We went to DTD and took lots of pictures of the THV. I think the paneling under the bar is much better than it has appeared in pictures. I can't say for sure 50 feet away.

We ate at T-Rex. There was a 5 minute wait. The guy we checked in was very nice and wished me Happy Bday. It told me that T-Rex makes a big deal out of all birthdays. That was kind of funny. We had terrible service. Our server barely noticed us at all, and of course didn't notice my bday button. The food was really good. (I forgot to take pictures though.) I got the 11 oz. Ribeye. Very Good! DH got Salmon and said it was good too. T-Rex has a few items that don't break the bank, but if you get something like Chicken, fish, or steak it will be pricey. You really pay for the extra commotion at TREX.

We then headed over to Saratoga Springs and looked at all of the models. The pictures of the models do not do them justice. The bar in the kitchen of BLT is amazing, and that view will blow you away. I loved the sliding doors and the vanity in the small bathroom. My opinion of the kitchenette/bathroom sink area in the studio has not changed. OMG! I also noticed that there is enough room in the bathroom for a small vanity like the one in the 1/2 bath of the 1 bedroom. We had seen the models for AKV before. Oddly, I really liked the dishes, just not enough to buy points.

We went back to DTD and spent money on clothes, and then took the boat back to POR. The boat driver asked who all was celebrating, had us raise our hands, asked us our names, and then had the whole boat sing Happy Birthday. Awesome!

Disney intentionally had the lights on at THV. PO guests were in awe of the treehouses. Many people talked about how much they want to stay in the treehouses.

After getting back to POR, we caught the show in the River Roost Lounge. This guy is a real hoot!! He is absolutely hilarious. You must go to Riverside and see it. I think its only on Friday and Saturday nights. Its the kind of thing that is especially great if you aren't expecting it. At one point, he had all the women get up and dance like the Rockettes, while he played NY, NY. What fun!

We tend to plan every minute, and are very commando. Last night we just wanted to go with the flow. It was very magical.

This morning, we leisurely got up, delivered our luggage for transfer, ate at the POR food court, and then checked in at BWV. We had the breakfast platter at POR. It was good. The potatoes were very good. To get to BWV, we took the bus to DHS and the boat to BWV. We then went to AK.

We didn't do much at AK. We ate CS next to Yak & Yeti and went on Kali River Rapids and saw the Nemo show. We then headed back and got settled in. The CS was just ok.

At BWV, we are in room 5029. Wow! What a view! We are in the yellow part and close to Big River Grille. The balcony is really small though. Did I say, wow! The view makes up for the small size. We aren't trying to get an army on it. The room seems in good shape so far.

Overall, I'm loving being here for my birthday. All of the CMs and some guests have wished me a happy birthday. It just makes you feel like you are a real princess or maybe even queen.

The weather is great! You need a light jacket at night, but its not too hot during the day.

Anyway, its time to head to the MK.

Gotta go!

I hope to post photos and a MK update tonight or in the morning.

Hey everyone:

We are back for the evening, and found the DIS up and running. I'm posting our pictures that go with our 1st day report at POR and BWV.

We returned to POR and had a great time at the show in the Rooster Lounge. Here is a picture of the really great performer, and all of the women in the audience doing Rockette style dancing to New York, New York. (Mrs. Mickey's Apprentice, that's me is in the Rockette picture too!)

OK, I'll try to get caught up with the trippie tomorrow. I took some food porn pictures at LTT and Mama Melrose.

If you are enjoying the thread, let me know!!

Thanks for sharing your trip!

Great pictures - such bright pictures!

(and I'm curious, why are some big - meaning you can see details etc - and some small? Does it have anything with how you post? TIA I have a photobucket account and they always post so small - smaller than anything posted here - and all I do is c/p)

Great pics Mickeye'sApprentice! Keep them coming! I have 45 more days until my arrival at Disney, but I need my fix now!
I have not been to POR in a few years. It was refreshing to see pictures of that place again.
Has Space Mountain been closed yet?

Love your report! POR was our "first home" for a few years, LOVED that place and love Piano Man Bob Jackson:thumbsup2, he is just the best and has been there for years entertaining people. BCV is now our home and will be there in a couple of weeks, so am really loving these pictures, nice job!!

Love it all....especially the new york new york thingy...perhaps that is your true calling....just kidding...you would then live farther away from Disney and that just wont work for either of you. Sure wish I had time and mileage to be there with. Can't wait for more pictures. I want to know about AI in the studios. PS DH is thinking possibly a return in January....about the same time frame as last time....think about it....I have hankering to come down again....

:dance3::cheer2:
