As mesaboy2 said, yes everyone should do it once and then decide for themselves. Just don't go expecting there to be low crowds--it CAN be that way--and it can also be jam packed w/ people.
We thought it was an amazing experience and well worth the extra ticket purchase. I know they let more people in than they used to, but we still walked on everything we wanted to experience. The parade was a lot of fun, and the special fireworks blew us away. Just watching it snow on Main Street USA was enough for me!
We've done MVMCP twice and would do it again. The parade is the best of all the Disney parades. The fireworks are awesome. There are rare characters that come out (Bulls Eye and Abu for example), and you can meet all 7 Dwarfs. The Fab 4 are dressed in Holiday attire. The 2nd year we went you could have your picture taken with Cinderella's carriage. The princesses do meet and greets with their prince. There is also a stage show that is awesome. Getting on rides is a piece of cake.
Loved it! Going again this year. Parade was great, loved the snow falling on Main Street, hot cocoa and cookies are given out at specific locations in MK, character dance parties for lo's, and the overall Christmas ambiance felt magical.
The floats pump out scents of gingerbread and such. That's the only scent I remember, but there could have been more.
Also, there are unlimited snickerdoodle cookies, apple slices, hot cocoa, and apple juice.
IMO the MNSSHP is better but I have done the MVMCP twice and would do it again if I were going to be there. I make a point at being there when there is a MNSSHP.
