Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

OH my I read the first dozen pages of this thread and realized that they are almost 100 to read! :goodvibes

So I am just going to start asking questions.

Our party is arriving in two parts. Two people(teenagers) by plane and using ME to get to resort and the rest of us are driving in.

Can they take ME and go straight to the party or do they have to go to the resort first?

With the AP discount, how many tickets can you buy? Can only those who hold AP's get the discount rate or can they buy for others staying at the resort with them(grandkids)? Also related this. The AP passes are in FL right now and the holders are in their Northern home until October so we have no way to get to the numbers on them. Is there a way to get those numbers from Disney?

Are there any dates sold out yet? Do we dare to wait and buy tickets when we get there( resort desk)? I am afraid a late plane woudl really screw us up! It is suppose to arrive at MCO at 3 PM...is that enough time to get to MK and enjoy the party?

How is food at Liberty Tavern? We have never eaten there before.

Stupid question coming.....is it worth the $35 plus dollars a person? Don't get huffy. I've just never been to this before. :rotfl:

I just called Disney and the 12/16 MVMCP is not a date where you can use the SP/AP discount!

does it "snow" the whole time of the party or is there a specific time. Also can you get your picture taken if you arrive at 4 p.m. or do they start taking the pictures at 7. I am still trying to decide if I want to go.

It suppose to snow the whole party but the last time I went, it only snowed during the parades.

They do not start taking pictures till exactly 7:00p, unless you are in Tomorrowland between 6:00p and 7:00p, that photo place was open for that hour.

We were there last year on the second Sunday in Dec. I think it was somewhat more crowded than a Tuesday, but it really wasn't bad at all. It's Friday MVMCP's that are the most crowded.

Thanks for the info. :flower:

Count us in for the party on Dec. 1st. I made a adr for cp, but the only time slot they had was 4:05. I took it but think its just way too early for us to eat dinner. Its all they had for a party of 5. I have to coordinate all this with dh who will be finishing up his conference at the swan.

Hi, all!

I've been making Christmas Resort Iron on t-shirt designs. Thought y'all might like to see them. They're free to use as you'd like. Just save the design, print on transfer paper, and then iron away. There's a tips link in my signature too.

Christmas Resort T-Shirt Transfers

There's a lot of other Christmas shirts in this link that I did. Iron on T-Shirt Transfers

Can't wait for our Christmas trip! I'm so excited!

Today I got our ADR for Crystal Palace on 12/4 MVMCP at 5:00pm. I woke up at 3:45am west coast time to call in!! I had a neck spasm just listening to the Disney music, waiting for a CM to take my call. It took 45 minutes before a nice CM answered. Then she told me I was one day early if I wanted to make ADRs for the next 10 days (wanted 12/4 CP). I mentioned that "But we are checking in on 12/3, so shouldn't the 90 days start from 12/3" She then explained that since my first ADR was 12/4, I would have to call 9/5 to make the dining reservations.

Being a great CM, she gently hinted that my kids would probably like to eat at Chef Mickey's for dinner on 12/3, the first day of checking in. I replied, "But we don't arrive until around 5:30pm at MCO. So I was thinking of just eating at POP Century foodcourt." She then stated, "But wouldn't it be a great way to start off your vacation with a nice dinner at Chef Mickey's." Finally, I get the hint! So we booked my family for Chef Mickey's at 7:40pm that first evening, and she was able to book my next 8 days of ADRs, including our CP dinner for MVMCP, without me having to call back tomorrow. Guess I wasn't thinking straight at 4:50am in the morning.

Good Luck to everyone with your MVMCP ressies. :wizard:

Can anyone tell me if there is free face painting at the Christmas party like there is at the Halloween party? Also, if there is, where is it?

TIA!

It't the free souvenir photo they take of you during the party. There are usually 3, 4 or 5 locations. There is a festive background. You get one photo per ticket.

Thanks.....lokking forward to that......is there a place thats best to have it took or are they all as equally cool!?

They are all pretty much the same but some might be more or less crowded then the others depending on the time of night...

So if you have two in your party, you can get two free pictures?

Yes. When you get in line, they will ask to see your tickets and mark them as you get a form to fill out (they mark the back of your ticket so they know you've already gotten your free photos taken). If you want your copies to go to one address, you fill out one form per group and put how many copies you are getting (based on your number of tickets). If you want your copies to go to different addresses then you ask for a form for each address.

We invited our niece one year and got 2 forms and had 3 copies go to our address and 2 go to hers. We had a total of 5 party tickets so we got 5 copies of the photo sent to 2 addresses.

They will ask you all of this as you enter the line. You'll be filling out form(s) while you wait in the line.

Hope this helps.

We have found that the one in Adventureland is not at all crowded between 7 and 8.

So, my family of four gets four free 5X7s, even if it is the same picture? Can we get four different ones taken, at different photo stops....in hopes that one of them is a good one?

You ONLY get 1 photo per ticket. You cannot, to my knowledge, get four poses as that would cause the lines to be very long.

I guess you could wait in four lines and get one photo taken at each location, but not 4 photos at each location. They will mark your ticket to indicate that your free photo was taken.

As far as I know, each location looks pretty much the same...but some have longer lines then others.

anyone have photos or video of the snow falling? this would be great. what should i expect as in temp at nite in florida in dec? thanks

I am sorry if this has already been asked, but, are LTT and Tony's Town Square open during MVMCP or just before the party starts? Thanks so much!

I am debating on buying tickets to MVMCP just because I think it would be cool to see the "snow" on main street and the parade. Is this parade shown the same one they do during park hours?? Also, I have been to Disney in Dec and in Jan and I have seen them doing snow on Main Street. Am I correct in thinking that I will get to see the parade and snow during normal park hours??
