*Mickey's Very Merry Bankruptcy Bash* LOTS OF PICS UPDATED!!!

:worship: I love reading your trip report but I still have one unanswered question....when is your next trip?!?! Hopefully you'll get to Jellyrolls the next time. Looks like you guys had so much fun in EPCOT! Again, my favorite park...I could spend days and days there and not get bored. Please tell me you have about 100 days left in your trip report so it will get me through until my trip!! popcorn::

Blayne-it was so nice being there for the holidays, especially because it wasn't crowded and we had low rates for our room. I definitely would suggest coming this time of the year at least once.

LuckyMommy- thanks so much! As for when we're going back...we're actually starting our honeymoon in Disneyland in May and then going to the national parks out there :). I wish I had another 100 days! In fact I wish I never had to leave!

I so wanted to get a piece of the gingerbread house too...but for 8 bucks a pop....thats a little more than I want to spend on a cookie! :)

How was Jellyrolls for couples? We are thinking of checking it out one night.

Instead of writing another installment of my trip report, I followed your link over here and found myself caught up in your trip! I love the pictures of the holiday parade and your writing style has me feeling like I am right there with you guys each step of the way!!

What a sweetheart your df is! That slipper surprise was just amazing! :lovestruc

You guys make such a sweet couple! :lovestruc

Thanks for taking us along with you!! :wave2:

Your tempting me . . . the two of you seem to be having such a good time-- adult style that DH & I may have to consider a solo trip for our next anniversary! Thanks for sharing!

I can't believe how close our paths crossed - we checked out of AKL the day you checked in! (I think, I'm beginning to lose track of your dates!) We emailed a room request for pretty much the same area that you did... but got ground floor of the kudu trail :sad2: I was quite upset as I had told them it was for our first anniversary and we got no PD when we stayed there our wedding night and entire honeymoon... despite me wandering round in a great big frock! At least we got to see a couple of giraffes and some ostrich. If we ever stay there again I'm going standard and will just use the public viewing areas!

Loving your reports still BTW :)

KatGarcia- thanks for continuing to read!

Jaycns-I'm happy that you decided to read. Thanks so much! I LOVE your TR so go back and write more pllllllllllllllease :rotfl: As for Jay he is very sweet and makes me very happy  .

Kangafan- thanks for reading! I hope I'm not tempting you too much :lmao:

WdWTravels- I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't get the room that you wanted. The only thing I can say was that I requested the rooms when we booked, faxed them over before we left, and arrived at the lodge relatively early. Regardless I guess sometimes you just don't get what you requested. Thanks for reading!

November 17th

We slept in till around 9:00AM. While this wasn't exactly what we had intended on doing, it was the best we were going to do. We decided to take it easy today as we had already seen a lot and not really spent any time at our resort. We went downstairs to Mara for breakfast and watched cartoons while eating. I just have to note I LOVE that some of the resorts play old disney toons constantly. I've always been disappointed when I've stayed at one of the resorts that doesn't play them!

Anyway, after breakfast we made our way back to the room and decided to go out onto our balcony to watch the animals. But.....where were the animals? We waited........waited, waited more. Finally we called downstairs. Apparentely the animals aren't out between 9 and 12 noon. Blast!

There was still some things we hadn't seen at MGM so we headed that way. It was COLD today. People were complaining all over the place. It was the middle of the afternoon and I was wearing a tee shirt, sweater and sweat-shirt over my sweater and I was still cold.

As we made our way into the park a CM dressed as a director walked over to us and told Jasy he was going to be the star of his new show! How funny! Jay had to help an old woman who was drowning I believe saying "help me, help me, help me!". She was trying to make herself seem unappealing to the extreme which made the whole circumstance even more hysterical. Jay walked over exagerating his muscles yelling, "Dont worry! I'll save you!" I wish I had better pictures but I took video of it really only!

PB171107.jpg

After Jeremy's bit of fame we made our way over to the Animation area. I LOVEEEEE this part of MGM and it's a definite must do for me any time we're at the world. I love the video with Mushoo but most of all I love taking the drawing class in order to learn how to draw the characters. Today we drew Minnie to add to our slowly growing collection at home.

We explored the area a little more singing and acting on the voice simulator machines. These are really great for those of you who haven't seen them. They are machines that show a part of a cartoon from one of the disney movies for example Lion King. Then they ask you to sing the parts and they put your voices to the animation. It's so fun!

We met Mr. Incredible and then explored more of the little areas where you learn about animation and learned that Stitch was supposed to be set in the Mid-West but was at the last minute put in the Polynesian. Hmmmmm, do I sense the Imagineers scheming up some big bucks for the Polynesian resort on that one?

PB171119.jpg

At this point we were ready for lunch so back to the Flatbread Grill. Yummy yet again but teh Sangria just wasn't the same in the ice cold weather. I guess there's a reason it's predominantly a summer drink!

After lunch we decided to go see the Narnia exhibit which was basically a preview for Narnia. It was god awful. Terrible. We were the last ones leaving the theatre and were able to get some pretty cool pictures at the very least.

:rotfl:

I was freezing after this so we decided to go back to the resort. We made it back and the animals were out! Horay! (It was about time!)

and lastly, my favorite.........the showdown

PB171150.jpg

It was so amazing just watching the animals from our balcony. We had a great conversation and a romantic time. We spent hours out here just relaxing and taking it all in.

Up Next: Our EPCOT Night and the Coral Reef

After enough animal watching we bundled up. We knew it was going to be cold. For me this entailed a long sleeve shirt, with a sweater over that, and then a huge yankee sweat-shirt over that, a scarf and gloves.

Jay laughed at me and called me his abominable snowman. I would have the last laugh!

We made it over to EPCOT and decided to go see my favorite movie, the circle of life. I seriously could watch this about 10 times in a row. It's just that sweet.

We decided to ride our beloved Soarin' one more time. Another great ride. I find it amazing how it's so realistic and doesn't make you nauseated at all. Ahh, I can smell those oranges now...

After riding it was time for our Coral Reef reservation. We took the walk over and checked in at the podium. There were A LOT of people waiting. We however, were seated almost immediately and received many a dirty look. What can I say, it helps to be a party of two!

We were seated near the back of the restaurant but I didn't mind. The seating is tiered so that you can see the aquarium well from any seat in the house. It was BBBBBEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAUTIFUL in there!

PB171181.jpg

Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to get a good picture because of the very dim lighting, but I did my best!

PB171185.jpg

Dinner was wonderful. We had a fast and efficient server that I felt could almost read my mind. He really made the night. The overall ambience of the restaurant is very romantic and overall we had a great time. Also, the food was outstanding, but you'll have to check my dining report for that one!

After dinner we made our way to world showcase to watch Illuminations. It was COLDDDDDDDD! My throat was starting to KILL ME. This had been developing for several days and I knew regardless of how many Vic's drops I shoved down my throat this was the night that was going to do me in. I don't do well in cold weather. I was a smoker for years and only recentely quit my habit (six months and counting woo hoo) but my lungs are still recooperating. I was bundled up as could be and soooo grateful I had taken the advice of the disers and packed all sorts of warm clothes. This night however, I could have used a winter jacket. It got down to 38!

PB171193.jpg

Because when I think sore throat I immediately know the answer is alcohol!

We watched Illuminations. This is my least favorite of the nighttime shows at disney. I just don't get it. To each their own. I'll stick with my fantasmic and wishes shows.

After teh show we went to france and tried their Grand Marnier daiquiri. I got to test out moi francaise yet again and embarassed myself only slightly. Jay was happy to find they did not do away with his beloved tangierine daiquiri in Morocco only had moved it into the counter service location. This made his night.

PB171204.jpg

The park was practically empty around this time. It was 10pm and really there was only large groups of young people or couples around. We were having a great time, even bearing the cold! I did however get Jay on video camera saying "you were right, I should have brought gloves. I was wrong, you do need gloves in Florida". That was the highlight of my evening.

We made our way over to the American Adventure. I had never been in here before. What a beautiful building. I wasn't a huge fan of the show but I know a lot of people do love it.

We ventured into Norway and I was able to finally try the famous school bread. I again was disappointed by this diser favorite. It was like....a boston creme donut. Oh well!

We were pretty tired at this point and decided to call it a night. After all, we had a yeti to visit tomorrow!

That was a GREAT day! .. i love the picture of you and Mr. Incredible --> i love that movie and i will HAVE to get a picture with him. I also loved all the pictures of the animals .. so pretty! Too bad it got so cold, that is the only thing Im really worried about for February!

He's GROPING Goofy!!!! :rotfl2: OMGosh how FUNNY!!!!
Love your TR, by the way...just was caught off guard at the grope! :rotfl:

Blayne- thanks so much for your reply. Mr. Incredible was hanging out in the animation area and there was no line so I'm sure you'll get him no problem! I think you'll be okay in Feb....we just had a really cold week

UtahMomma- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I would have never noticed that. I just showed that to Jay and he was like "OH MY GOD..I'm groping goofy the dog". We just cracked up for about 5 minutes. Thanks for pointing it out!

Congratulations on quiting smoking. I know how incredibly hard it is and now I wish I could just get DH to do the same.
Love the pics at AKL...I can't wait for the DVC there but in the meantime you've inspired me to try it sooner.
I was sooo surprised to hear Illuminations was your least favorite, especially with you being a die-hard EPCOT fan. That's okay though...I must say it's my favorite!!
Keep up the great report!!

Looks like you two had tons of fun! Thanks for including the great pics of AKL! I never knew what all the fuss was about that resort, but then I saw your pics, and now I definitely want to stay there :goodvibes

I'm sorry you did not have a chance to go to Jellyrolls! DF and I kept saying we were going to go one nightduring our trip last year, and we were always too tired to make it over there too! The sad thing is we were staying at the BC :rotfl: Sometime we're so lazy!

Still loving your TR! Keep it coming :thumbsup2

Luckymommyx2- thanks so much for your response. It was very difficult to quit but I'm so happy that I did and it's all over with. I LOVE AKL...IMHO it's the nicest of the resorts. I'm happy that you love Illuminations, that's whats so great about Dis...everyone has their favorites!

JJClemenson- The pictures honestly don't even do the lodge justice. I have some other ones I'll be posting that begin to capture the beauty. Thanks again for reading, I'm so happy that you're enjoying it!
