After enough animal watching we bundled up. We knew it was going to be cold. For me this entailed a long sleeve shirt, with a sweater over that, and then a huge yankee sweat-shirt over that, a scarf and gloves.
Jay laughed at me and called me his abominable snowman. I would have the last laugh!
We made it over to EPCOT and decided to go see my favorite movie, the circle of life. I seriously could watch this about 10 times in a row. It's just that sweet.
We decided to ride our beloved Soarin' one more time. Another great ride. I find it amazing how it's so realistic and doesn't make you nauseated at all. Ahh, I can smell those oranges now...
After riding it was time for our Coral Reef reservation. We took the walk over and checked in at the podium. There were A LOT of people waiting. We however, were seated almost immediately and received many a dirty look. What can I say, it helps to be a party of two!
We were seated near the back of the restaurant but I didn't mind. The seating is tiered so that you can see the aquarium well from any seat in the house. It was BBBBBEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAUTIFUL in there!
Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to get a good picture because of the very dim lighting, but I did my best!
Dinner was wonderful. We had a fast and efficient server that I felt could almost read my mind. He really made the night. The overall ambience of the restaurant is very romantic and overall we had a great time. Also, the food was outstanding, but you'll have to check my dining report for that one!
After dinner we made our way to world showcase to watch Illuminations. It was
COLDDDDDDDD! My throat was starting to KILL ME. This had been developing for several days and I knew regardless of how many Vic's drops I shoved down my throat this was the night that was going to do me in. I don't do well in cold weather. I was a smoker for years and only recentely quit my habit (six months and counting woo hoo) but my lungs are still recooperating. I was bundled up as could be and soooo grateful I had taken the advice of the disers and packed all sorts of warm clothes. This night however, I could have used a winter jacket. It got down to 38!
Because when I think sore throat I immediately know the answer is alcohol!
We watched Illuminations. This is my least favorite of the nighttime shows at disney. I just don't get it. To each their own. I'll stick with my fantasmic and wishes shows.
After teh show we went to france and tried their Grand Marnier daiquiri. I got to test out moi francaise yet again and embarassed myself only slightly. Jay was happy to find they did not do away with his beloved tangierine daiquiri in Morocco only had moved it into the counter service location. This made his night.
The park was practically empty around this time. It was 10pm and really there was only large groups of young people or couples around. We were having a great time, even bearing the cold! I did however get Jay on video camera saying "you were right, I should have brought gloves. I was wrong, you do need gloves in Florida". That was the highlight of my evening.
We made our way over to the American Adventure. I had never been in here before. What a beautiful building. I wasn't a huge fan of the show but I know a lot of people do love it.
We ventured into Norway and I was able to finally try the famous school bread. I again was disappointed by this diser favorite. It was like....a boston creme donut. Oh well!
We were pretty tired at this point and decided to call it a night. After all, we had a yeti to visit tomorrow!
