Is this basically just a 3D version of Fantasia? I've never quite 'got' that film

Would someone who doesn't like Fantasia still like Mickey's Philharmagic?

Cheers :thumbsup2

It is totaly different to Fantasia and has the music from alot of different Disney animated movies :) It is great and a 'not to be missed' attraction.

Claire ;)

Agree its not to be missed. Its a compilation of recent movies. We have seen it about 12 times now and its still brilliant. Will watch it at least another twice in August.
Remember to look behind you at the end.:goodvibes

Yep, we loved it and it is a definite must see.

Its fantastic-nothing like Fantasia really. And if they ever open an apple pie stall outside it they would make a fortune:rotfl2:

Thanks for the replies :)

I really don't know what to expect from it, but I'll find out soon enough I suppose :cool1:

I agree it is a definate must see. And then you will probably want to see it again to see things you didn't catch first time round. :thumbsup2

oOOooo just noticed our tickers... You'll beat me there by a day!

I will have to against the majority here and say we were not that stuck by it. Perhaps because it had been built up so much, perhaps because you have to get in there early and wait 45 minutes before it starts, either way, it was okay but none of us are bothered about seeing it again. We would rather use the time to nip on rock n roll coaster several times. However, I would still urge you to go and see it and form your own opinion. It certainly is done to the highest standards but we felt like the majority of the time we were just watching movie clips on water for long periods of time.

Aren't you thinking of Fantasmic?

Yes sounds like Fantasmic to me! Which is totally different to Phiharmagic which is at MK. Must say Fantasmic is a take it or leave it kinda show for me.

Claire ;)

Mickey's Philharmagic is awesome! We were so surprised by it, it is one of the sweetest and best attractions at Disney, definitely not to be missed!!!

I love this show! Not to be missed!

I personally also don't rate fantasia but went on mickey's phillar magic and absolutely loved it. It was a massive hit for all the family, even my niece who is not a fan of 3d shows enjoyed it. I would definately recomend it.:thumbsup2

Makes me cry everytime!! and the smell of that apple pie:goodvibes
Can't wait till August will have to bring my tissues and pot of clotted cream;)

Now, even though wicket got her Philhar-thingys and Fantasmi-thingys muddled up, she does make a good point about things being over-hyped. The more something is built up, the greater chance of disappointment. Don't get me wrong, I think Mickey's PhilharMagic is very well executed, and I do agree that it's a must-see, but I wouldn't want you to believe it's something it isn't.

It's a 3-D animated compilation which follows Donald's attempts to retrieve Sorcerer Mickey's hat. The effects are actually rather limited when compared with some others such as It's Tough to be a Bug, Honey I Shrunk the Audience and, particularly, Shrek 4-D at Universal. It's glory, however, lies in the gorgeous, larger-than-life animation which fills half the theatre, and the familiar and emotive scores from Disney animated movies. Particular highlights for me are the Lion King, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. The Peter Pan bit is quite good, too. Oh, all right, then - all of it!

Like most 3-D shows, the effects are much better appreciated from the back of the theatre (despite what they tell you ;) ). As you enter the holding area, move towards the right-hand side to make sure you're near the back when you move into the theatre.
