Okay my fabulous friends......we are booked to see Mickey again in June...my mom, my dad, and the kiddos.....No Mark this time! :guilty: He just doesn't get as much time off as I do....BUT! He is quite happy about the little vacation he will have from me and the kids! :rotfl: Gee, wonder why? :rolleyes1

So, how do I start one of these trip reports? I love reading everyone else's and I just think it will be awesome to document our lives leading to the big trip....I'm still new to this DIS thing and just not sure where to begin :confused3 Will someone point me in the right direction!?

Way to go Karen! I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time. To do a trip report... go to the Trip reports section and then go to the Pretrip reports. Click new thread and then you start your TR. You need to come up with a good title, but you can always edit that.

I find it hard to keep up with, but so good to refer to when I finally scrap book my vaca!

Congradulations Karen! I'm so excited for you! Are you doing another four night or a three or seven night? Have a lot of fun doing your trip report! I know one of my favorite ones to read are the geek reports on the trip report section. I laugh my tail off! Much like reading Dale's trip reports. hehe I can't wait to hear all about your trip! :goodvibes

Nice photos! The day after Christmas turned out to be the big day for visiting. Everyone showed on Friday. We partied all day and night. (not really partied).
I hope that baby comes today or tomorrow and in her own time (no inducement).

Thank you Monica! Those were taken on my favorite beach. If any of you get around to coming to the West Coast of Flordia, I highly recommend checking out Siesta Key! (Way better then Castway Cay....pinky swear! ) I'm so glad you got to spend a fun time with your family. Christmas is normally the only time I get to see my brother and I really REALLY enjoy the family time! :goodvibes

We have a grand daughter!!!!

Isabella Grace was born this afternoon...

Congratulations. A friend of mine was due on the 29th and still no sign of the baby.

Congratulations to your son and his wife and you and Dale and everyone! :grouphug:

I hope everyone is having a great new year! The boys and I went hiking in our favorite state park and I wanted to share some photos with you. Let us entitle this "the reasons I don't walk by the water";) :rotfl:

and baby too
This baby was just a couple feet away on a grassy log. I could have picked him up if I wanted to. Thankfully, "mommy" and "daddy" were about 15 feet away across a stream. Considering Aligators can move up to 30 miles per hour at short bursts I was glad the stream was between them and us.

We also saw a family of wild pigs w/ piglets, a tree full of vultures, and several pheasent type birds, but those pictures are on my 35mm camera and I don't have those developed yet. If you ever want to experience the "real" Florida, this is the place to do it! I would love to rent a kayak but I'm afraid I might bonk one of the gators on the head with my oar. This park is about a two hour drive from Orlando if any of you want to visit and take a walk on the wild side. ;) :goodvibes

Dawn, where you see cute animals, i see boots (alligator) and soup (turtle) .:cool1: oh, and i live on the Wild Side. :lmao:

I would love to rent a kayak but I'm afraid I might bonk one of the gators on the head with my oar.

I nearly choked on my drink then. ;) Just goes to show that also we speak the same language, we do not really. If this was a UK board, the sentence above would most likely have been censored. Bonk has a very different meaning (I assume in this context it is used interchangeably with "hit") and does not refer to a decidedly adult activity as it would be in the UK.

Seeing those photos I never have the wish to set foot into the Florida countryside ever again. I suppose we live a very protected life over here. We only have one venomous snake and if you do get bitten, it is no worse than being stung by a bee. There is no poisonous spiders or frogs and nothing that would eat you. So seeing alligators all over the place does somewhat scare me.

Corinna

I'm kinda scared now too! Not sure I want to leave Disney property......:lmao:

How different than our weekend though.......we bundled up today and took the kids sledding for the first time! I will try to post pics soon!

Dale, with the ten to fifteen foot alligators we saw I think you might be able to have a pair of boots for every occasion.;)
Patty, thank you for the compliment about the picture. I thought that one came out the best also.:)
Corinna and Karen, I didn't mean to scare you. hehe It is like anywhere else...you just use common sense and you'll be fine. There were people wading out into the water to go fishing with all of those alligators around. I don't think I would be quite that brave. I had a friend up north that was laughing at me when I went to visit her. She lived on a lake and couldn't understand why I didn't want to go swimming in it. In this state, if there is a body of water, there is something in it that is capable of eating you! I couldn't get use to the fact there was nothing in the lake up north that wouldn't eat me. You know those nice little retention ponds you see driving around Disney? Betcha they have a gator in them! It is awe inspiring, and yes a bit unnerving to see them so close. The park guides warned us not to let our dog get to close to the water and indeed we saw a plaque dedicated to a yellow lab that got eaten by one of those gators. :sad1:
Corinna, yes, I did mean "hit" hehe.
Karen, I can't wait to see your sleding pictures! I was sixteen before I ever saw snow for the first time. I still remember my brother stuffing it down my pants. Snow is something I like to visit but not live in.
I had dreamt all night last night about being on the Disney cruise ship. Makes me "home sick". :guilty: I miss all of you!:grouphug:

Finally some sledding pics......

Gotta love the highwires in the pics! Of course, we are all sick now :crazy2: ......I was up at 330am this morning :faint: driving to Walgreens to buy children's tylenol and motrin for Josh (Bad Mommy, I just kept forgetting to get it at Walmart!)

Hope everyone is staying warm! I'm freezing with a short sleeved t-shirt, long sleeved t-shirt, and sweatshirt on........hurry up summer! or even spring at this point!

Why does everybody look cold?:rotfl: What is the white stuff on the gound? Over exposure of the pictures?:lmao: Seriously, sorry to hear your all sick. :crazy2: Hold on a minute i need to turn the a/c on. It's hot in here.:rotfl2:
