Corinna, your welcome. I'm sorry you won't be able to come down this far for a visit.:guilty:

Patricia, I sure do still have your cell number programed into my phone! I'll see what I can do about coming up that Saturday possibly. We won't be able to go into the parks and I don't want to mess up any plans you have. I'll see what I can figure out. ;) I am sure you are very excited!
We are staying at the All Star Sports one night on May 27th. Chase decided he wanted to go Epcot on his birthday (May 28th) so we will do that and go home. Unfortunately the Garden Grill is booked solid :headache:but I'm hoping if we show up when it opens that perhaps we can squeak in for a birthday dinner. I bought a birthday package to be waiting in the room for Chase when we check in. He'll have balloons, a mickey ear hat with his name on it, a goofy plush, an autograph book, and some snacks......all with a birthday card from his pal Mickey. ;) I love planning birthdays. Can you tell? hehe

Dawn, please don't feel guilty. You did us a big favour. It would have been such a shame to rush it. We will head to the gulf coast at some stage, just not this year. I will now get a day at Seaworld before we go on our cruise. I have the ambition to see every showing of Blue Horizons that day.

Dawn, is it just the two of you? If they have no availability, try calling and seeing if they ahve a table for four! That's the only way we are able to eat at Le Celier (we too are doing Epcot for my bday). That's our only definite plans. Sat and Sun are still open. I have a friend who is planning to get us in the parks with her pass but we are up in the air as for time and where. We do have a dinner ressie at the new restaurant in AKV at 5pm Saturday.

I hope we can make it work out, would be so great to see you!

I would love to hear what you thought of Sanaa. I had a look at the menus and don't think that this is really for us, but I would love to hear some first hand feedback.

Corrina,

I was a little leery initially looking at the menu but figured there is something there I can try (I am not that adventurous in the food field). I will definitely let you know what we think. Hoping to have a window seat since we have a 5pm dinner that evening.

Corinna, I"m very glad I did you a favor. :goodvibes

Patricia, it will be four of us going for Chase's birthday. I called today for cancelations and there were none at the Garden Grill. They did have an opening at the Coral Reef though. I have visited there but have never eaten there. I am sort of on the fence about it. I know it will be super expensive and I'm not a big seafood person (neither are the boys) but I think it would be a neat experience. I have read that you can get a personalized menu for a b-day person and then read you can't. :confused3 I do remember you have to contact the dining manager directly. I might see how this goes. I"m sure a five year old would really perfer to have dinner with chip and dale and mickey but we'll do what we can.

I talked to my mom and she said she would like to come up with the boys and I to see you and Dale. Perhaps we could do a lunch date somewhere. :confused3 Let's get together and make this work! :yay:

Dawn, keep calling every day. I hear and if that fails, try showing up early and seeing if anything (sad puppy dog eyes on the birthday boy).

I am looking forward to seeing you, my mom and the boys again! That will be so nice. We'll figure out when/where next week. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I can't believe it has been almost a year since we stepped onto the Disney Wonder. It feels SO much longer then that. I hope everyone is doing well!

Well, a year ago we were on the Wonder. So much has happened since and the time has gone so quickly.

I think the last time I posted here was shortly before we went on a back to back cruise on the Norwegian Jade. We had a great time, but the cruise did not even start to compare to our two cruises on DCL. I have linked my trip report in my signature (Cheating on the Mouse Boats).

My sister is getting married in Germany next Saturday. As I am extremely busy at work at the moment and I will have just over three weeks vacation time from September 30th, we are flying to Germany Saturday morning on the first flight and come back Sunday night on the last flight. The ceremony is Saturday afternoon. I just hope that everything is going to plan. I was really struggling finding a suitable wedding outfit. With exception of my two evening gowns, all the dresses I own are either black or predominantly white. Neither would have been appropriate. Fortunately I found something yesterday at the last moment. I got a beautiful midnight blue satin Goddess dress with a little lace cover up in the same colour. The jewellery that I had custom made for formal night this year will go perfectly with this as well.

I am pretty much ready for my vacation. I decided to get an annual pass this time round. With the DVC discount, this cost me almost the same as a 7 day hopper purchased in the UK. The advantage the annual pass has is that it will still be valid during my post cruise stay after the Westbound Transatlantic.

I have decided that I will do MNSSHP this year. I have put together a pirate costume for pirate night and decided it would be a shame to just use it for one night. Graham has no interest in this, but I am sure that I will have a great time on my own.

Graham however has something else to look forward to. He has taken up running over the last year and will do the 10K Race for the Taste from Wide World of Sports through Hollywood Studios and Epcot. I am rather proud of him for doing this.

Corinna

Corrina,

I hope you have an awesome time at the wedding! Tomorrow will be one year since our Vow Renewal!!! Where did that time go? Your dress sounds beautiful! And WAY TO GO for Graham!!!! My running partner is supposed to be doing the race next month (if the doc clears her from her knee injury). I'm sure he'll do great! Tell him to enjoy it, stop for some photos and just have fun!

Hi. Ladies,

Has it really been a year?? I was wondering how you all were doing and what you were up to. We had such a wonderful time on the cruise and knowing all of you made it even more so. If only we all lived in Florida and could go on more Disney cruises. I think this one coming up in October will be our last for the foreseeable future. We toyed with the idea of taking the kids to WDW while we will be in Florida but decided against it. Money's just too tight. I know we're weird because we've never taken them but I think it will make it all the more special when and if they take their own kids one day.

We leave for our October cruise 38 days. There is sooo much going on right here at home I don't have time to think about that. Surprisingly though, Warren stumbled on an FE gift that is affordable and very appropriate - bandanas with a map of the Caribbean on them. He's going to have them silk screened with the date of the cruise on them. I'm going to order several pounds of mini-M&M's to put in cellophane bags. Then I'll wrap the bags in a bandana tied with a ribbon and gift tag. What to you think? Will it work? So far we have only 10 families in our gift exchange. Thank Goodness. We all agreed to subdivide if the number of families reached 15.

Gotta go take a pain reliever and go to bed -having a root canal in the morning. :scared1:

Monica, hope the root canal does as pain free as possible. Your FE gifts sound great. I'm so jealous you are going to be on a cruise so soon. I know you'll have a wonderful time.

I hope that root canal gets sorted out and is not too painful.

You are going on your cruise two weeks after we do. By the time you are sailing away, it is nearly time for us to go back to the UK. Fortunately we will only have 6 months until the next cruise which will be a nice long one (Eastbound Transatlantic).

Your fish extender gifts sound lovely. Are they real bananas? In which case I am glad that I am not on your cruise as I am very allergic to bananas.

We have about 40 cabins for Fish Extender for our upcoming cruise. I had lanyards made with the name of our cruise meet thread and the dates.

For the inserts, I had little cards printed from a business card place that has our cruise meet thread logo on the front

and this on the back

Yesterday the little plastic pouches finally arrived so once the wedding is over, I can start putting them together.

I also made some cell phone charms for the females over the age of 6. They are similar to the ones I made for our cruise, but they are spelling out the word "Magic" and I have used crystals in the ships's colours as accents rather than people's favourite colours. For the boys I did bag clips with lamp work beads that a DISer from the Netherlands made for me. The younger boys (6 to 9) get Mickey and the older boys get skulls with Mickey ears. For the younger kids, I got the cutest pirate rubber ducks.

I woke up with the biggest smile this morning. I use my iPhone as my alarm clock. A couple of days ago, somebody from the cruise meet thread for our Westbound Transatlantic sent me a link where you can download Disney ring tones for the iPhone. So this morning I was woken up by the ship's horn. For my actual ring tone I now have the music from Soarin.

Corinna

Corrina, your FE gifts are lovely. You are going to have so much fun!

Monica, hope you are not in a lot of pain today.

Our cruise was made SO much more special with all of you!! :grouphug:
I'm glad to hear the updates from everyone! Corinna, you are SO talented! I am so jealous of all the cruises you keep going on. I love hearing about all of your adventures. I hope you have a great time at your wedding. Monica, hope your root canal went ok. I love the sound of your gift! I hope to be able to hear about your adventures on your new cruise coming up! Please keep in touch! Patty...well Patty.....I always talk to you so you know I love ya! lol It was Christopher's birthday yesterday. He is really excited to be going to NASA and doing the astronaut training in October. We are doing that on the 23rd/24th and then on the 25th we are going to Epcot. My brother might be able to surprise him by coming down for that. You know how I love surprises! hehe. Well I miss all of you! I know we say almost daily we need to go back on another cruise. It wasn't just the amazing cruise but the people that made it so special! Dawn
P.S. Corinna, I have "yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me" on my cell phone lol

Alrighty, so this is a totally selfish post. I entered Chase into the Gap casting call contest. If you would like to vote for him use this link: http://family.go.com/gapcastingcall/entries/chaseingdawn/ *insert puppy dog eyes here* It may require a log in to vote. If so, the one you created for the Disney cruise line or any Disney site will work. Patty, I think you should have your son enter Isabella into the contest! ;) Why shouldn't the world know you have the cutest little granddaughter ever?! :teeth:
In other, more relevant news, is anyone booking passage on the Alaskan cruise? I looked up the prices and ouch! However, I think it would be well worth the money and hopeing maybe we can save the money and sail out in 2012. Maybe then it will be a surprise cruise for the other child's birthday. :rolleyes1 I miss all of you and hope everyone is doing well! :goodvibes

Hi Ladies!

Has it really been over a year now! That's really crazy! Happy 1yr Renewaversary Patty! :) It's great to see how everyone's doing and what everyone's up to - seems like everyone is busy!

We've also booked our 2nd DCL Cruise, 22-26 August 2010 on the Wonder. We're now also less than a year out from our wedding! Eek! We've booked the venues and we're just in the process of sorting the contract. We'll be arriving back in the World in 10 months and 5 days, and counting!!

Hi, again. I am not going to talk about our upcoming cruise in 2 weeks because I know I would be jealous if the shoe was on the other foot. Three weeks from now, it will be since by then our cruise will be over and we don't plan to book another one for a long time. 2010 is the year dh and oldest ds go to Sea Base, so there will be no expensive vacations!

Anyway, the root canal was not at all painful. I can only hope if you have one, it should be like the one I had.

Corinna, you crack me up. Bananas?

In a matter of hours I will be on the Magic. I am so excited, I can't sleep. DH has no such problems so I am hiding out in the bathroom with the laptop.

Corinna

I'm so jealous of you guys ,Monica and Corinna, going on the cruise! I'm so excited for you. I pray you guys have great weather and an even better time! We are hopeing to make the Alaskan cruise in a few years. We have to get the bills paid off first.
Hayley, Congradulations on your upcoming wedding! I pray it will be everything you dreamed it would. :)
I enjoy hearing everyone's updates about their life! Take care!

Well, I am back again. I came back from my vacation a week ago, but I have been really busy. We had a great time and I will start working on a trip report as soon as I can. I have also taken loads of photos and will add those to the trip report.

While I was on the Magic, I booked the Eastbound Transatlantic Cruise for next year. We had originally planned to do both Transatlantic cruises. This is still what I intend to do. However, DH has decided that he really does not like sea days and that he will go stir crazy if he is doing two cruises with so many sea days. He is still committed to the Westbound Transatlantic and I will do the Eastbound solo. I am little worried about doing this on my own, but I figure that I usually do my own thing during the day anyway and I will still have company at dinner. There are a number of solo cruisers on the cruise meet thread and there has been some suggestion of linking reservations so that I would even sit with other DISers.

Fortunately they lifted the overtime ban that we had for most of the year just before I went on vacation so I am doing as much overtime as I can get away with to pay for my solo cruise. The single occupancy rate is quite a bit higher than the rate for two or more people sharing.

Corinna

Corrina, I hate you! NOT REALLY!!! I'm just jealous! I so want to do another cruise (more than a few days). My dream is the Panama Canal crossing, but it's a big dream. Can't wait to hear all about your cruise and see your pics.

Monica, how was your cruise. Hoping you didn't have to drive through nasty weather either way.

We were hoping to do the Panama Canal Cruise in 2011, but I saw the prices and they are much more than I am willing to pay. So this has been relegated to the "to do sometime" file. Instead, all going well, we are going to celebrate our 13th anniversary in 2011 on board the Magic. We got married on a Friday 13th, so our 13th anniversary seems quite significant.
