Hi, Dawn,

I hope you have a great flight, pleasant weather and enjoy your adventure. I look forward to reading your trip report.

Patty,

Gee, can't you get just a little more enthusiastic about this cruise? ;) Thirty laps today. I had to take a break between the first 20 and the last 10. My hair is like straw even though I rinse it right after swimming and leave conditioner in it after I wash it.

Hayley,
Good luck with the house. What do you like about it? Is it in the city?

I'm not working this week because of VBS and Sports Camp at church. They're during the day, but there's no way I'm working nights until wee hours of the morning and getting up early for VBS and camp. It's nice having more time at night to read the Disboard or play scrabble while I stream my favorite talk radio shows.

I'm glad our cruise is only 47 days away, but I regret that the closer the cruise is the fewer days of summer are left.

Hi Monica.

YES, I'm just a little excited!!!! Can you tell!!!! So if it's 47 days til the cruise, it's 46 till I get to meet you!!!! :goodvibes

Have you tried the special shampoo for swimmers? When my kids did swim team, we'd buy that and it definately made a difference. Congrats on doing 30 laps today. Thats great. I did my two mile run this am. Tomorrow is regular workout at the Y.

What's the name of that shampoo? There's no way I'm wearing a bathing cap. That would have been the smartest thing to do.

What was your time on the 2 miles? I think mine is 30 minutes since I'd be walking most of it!

I am sure that this is not the one Patricia refers to, but this one is the shampoo of choice in our house. Graham pretty much lives in the pool at the moment and this works for him:

I have just ordered my dress for Formal Night on the Magic. I had ordered a dress from Torrid, but something has gone wrong with the order and by the time I notices, it had sold out in my size. I found this on Ebay and fell in love:

I might wear this for Dress Up night or for Pirate Night on our cruise. I think this is exactly the kind of dress Elizabet Swann might have worn.

Monica,

I use to get something at the Hairdressers supply store. There are a few available at the regular drug store now. One is ultra swim chlorine removal shampoo. I'll tell you, using something like this will make a big difference. Oh, an the link Corinna sent to Lush, my kids LOVE stuff from there. There's one in Philly so they go there to go shopppin (use to only be online and in MCO). If you decide you want to try something from LUSH (they are all natural stuff) let me know and I'll have Aubre pick it up next time she's in Philly.

We are die hard Lush fans. We have three Lush stores in the city where we live. The only non Lush cosmetics that we use in this house is toothpaste, deodorant and high factor sunscreen. I am not sure how it works in the USA, but the shampoo is part of their Retro range which is only available online in the UK.

Ok, don't panic, but wanted to let you know before you hear it through various other places and it gets blown out of proportion. There was a fire in one of the lifeboats at 2am this morning. There is another Disbride on board who's been in contact with us at times. Don't know any other specifics at this point, other than a very interupted night of sleep.

Corinna

Very nice. I love it!

The only shampoo that I have found that works for me is Smooth Down by Redken. I have corse (sp?) hair and it can get out of control pretty easily lol. I only wash it like every 3rd or 4th day. In the summer I mostly let it go curly or wear it up. With the humidity here is is just not worth trying to straighten it. In the winter I use a flat iron. I can't live without my flat iron. :) I think I am going to cut it all off soon. I do that every once in a while. I just get tired of the work lol.

We have a salt system so that might be a little easier on the hair. I know it's not the ideal but, a bathing cap might be the best way to keep the hair in good shape. People will just think you are a pro swimmer that all. ;)

Sorry forgot this part of the message. I run VERY SLOWLY! Some would say it's a slow jog. My son went with us yesterday and made fun of me cause he walks as fast as I run. I am 5' 4" and don't have very long legs. We've been doing our 2 miles between 25:30 and 26:15. When we ran Saturday (5k) our first mile was too fast (for us) at 11:30 (or so) and then I ended up with shin splints so I had to walk more than i would of wanted too. We've been doing intervals of run four minutes, walk quickly one minute. Seems to help get the heart rate back down and make it tolerable.

Ok, now no one can make fun of me on the ship if you see me running at my snail pace.

You are still moving faster than me sitting on my butt doing nothing. :thumbsup2

Thanks Mary. I have actually enjoyed this, working out and running (only wish I'd taken up this habit 20+ years ago, lol).

There is something my running buddy has taught me (this is from her wish team of marathoners).

Dead last finish trumps
Did NOT finish which trumps
Did NOT START!!!!

I have to stop beating myself up for how slow I think i go. As my buddy tells me again and again, I just starting running in April. She's been doing races for three years now (but as a walker) and she can't believe how great I am doing. :goodvibes Thats how I feel after being with her!

Patricia...you are doing WAY awesome!!!!
A fire on the wonder!! what the heck?!?! Well, they have 45 days to get it under control. ;) Thanks, for the packing list. (by the way, can I be selfish and ask you to ride the shuttle to the port w/ us and hubby can return the car by himself? ;) hehehe)

Corinna, I LOVE your dess!!

Monica, thank you and I read somewhere that if you put conditioner in your hair before you swim that it will keep your hair from drying out (wet it and put it in).

Ok, better get back to work before I get in trouble. Have a great Wed!!

Dawn, I would love to ride the shuttle over (if there is still room). I had thoughts of asking one of the 'guys' to ride over with hubby (so he won't be 'lonesome', lol) and then meet them at the port. Any one want to 'volunteer' their other half??? (ok, remember hubby will be reading this, this is what he does at work all day, lol, but he won't get a user name and post!!!) So be nice!

Patricia, if the shuttle is a possiblity then I would call and schedule now. You can always cancel!
Ok, I'm a sap.....I found a dog I want to adopt....not that I NEED another dog but I couldn't resist these lil eyes.....http://milldogrescue.org/Available_Dogs.html His name is Thunder.
He looks just like my baby I had when I was growing up. SO I emailed them to see if Thunder is a possiblity to add to our family. If so, I'll have to give up an excursion but what is one excursion when you are saving a life. :)

Fire?! Jeez! I hope everything is OK on there!

Corinna, that's a beautiful dress! I just bought my Dress-Up night dress the other day from River Island :)

What's all this talk of Lush?! I LOOOOOOVE LUSH! The closest store to me is in Chester so whenever I go there I stock up! I even tracked down a Lush store in Venice  I was telling DBF, I'm sure I smell Lush (*** you can smell it down the street right?!), he was saying don't be silly - this is Venice, and sure enough I followed my nose and there it was! He does indulge me and buys me one of those big hatboxes every Xmas though which lasts a bit :) My fave bath bomb ever is Fairy Jasmine, it's so lovely!

Dawn,

he is ADORABLE!!!!! I'd say skip the excursion, lol. As for the shuttle, I think hubby got his feelings I hurt that I'd want to 'start' our cruise w/o him. I guess I wasnt' thinking clearly.

I'm sure I smell Lush (*** you can smell it down the street right?!)

Hayley

YOU ARE RIGHT!!!! You can definately smell LUSH!!!!! My daughter LOVES to go to that store. There are always Christmas presents from there under our tree.
