Love the pic Monica. I don't like winter stopping back, but today it's supposed to be close to 60 I think, hoping this rain passes and we see some sunshine this weekend.

I have been bummin lately because I have hit a plataeu. Nooooooooo, not so soon. Plataeu after cruise not before cruise. Ah, well, I'll keep plugging away. At least I know I"m getting healthier. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Keep working at it Dawn. I haven't been seeing any results scale wise, but I do feel better, which is a definate plus. Come on September!!!

What do you mean by plateau? Have you stopped dropping weight? That kind of plateau? It might be time to shake things up with your exercise routine. It's hard to stay motivated when you don't see the results you want. I'd be lying if I said I'm doing this only for health reasons.

Yes, that kind of plateau. I was able to drop 20lbs in two months and nada zip zero this month. I would imagine my body is trying to adjust after dropping so much weight so quickly. I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later. I was just hopeing for later rather than sooner. :)

WOW!!!! 20# in two months! I'd be happy to get 20# off before the cruise (honestly, I would like to lose 50, but don't see that happening AT ALL!!!!)

congrats on the weightloss, plateaus happen, try to kick up the exercise some.

Thank you Patricia! You are right, 20lbs is better than none at all. I really hope I can get another 30 or 40lbs off by the cruise but all I can do is try. I was surprised I got that much off at once as well, now all my coworkers are trying the same thing I did and many with success. You never know what your capable of until you try. I think your doing awesome by going to the Y every day. That takes real commitment! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Dawn,

were you following a certain diet while you lost this, or just eating good? Can you share you secret?

Actually, I have been doing the special K challenge.
http://www.specialk.ca/meal_plans.aspx It works well for my lifestyle. A typical day for me is a cup of special K cereal in the morning, a mid morning special K snack, lunch (my work gets lunch catered for free every day...hafta watch portions), a special K snack mid afternoon, and a protien bar for dinner. Believe it or not, I don't get hungry and often times skip my mid afternoon snack. I walk the stairs at work (7 flights) and bike ride with the boys in the evening. That is my secret. :)

Happy Five Month Milestone!!

five months! :snail: :snail: :snail: :snail: J/k :lmao: I was at the reinassance festivel on Sunday. I was trying to convince my son that he didn't want something from Harry Potter, he wanted something pirate (thinking ahead for the pirate party).......didn't work since I could devoulge my master plan. :rotfl:

From NBC2 news (my local news) :

NASSAU, The Bahamas: At the hurricane conference in the Bahamas, Philip Klotzbach and William Gray issued their updated forecast for the 2008-2009 hurricane season.

The new numbers are higher than those released on December 7, 2007.

Named storms 13 15
Named storm days 60 80
Hurricanes 7 8
Hurricane days 30 40

The forecast also includes probabilities for at least one major hurricane making landfall on each of the following coastal areas.

Entire U.S. coastline - 69% (average for last century is 52%)
U.S. East Coast Including Peninsula Florida - 45% (average for last century is 31%)
Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle westward to Brownsville - 44% (average for last century is 30%)
Above-average major hurricane landfall risk in the Caribbean

Hi, cruise threadmates. It's been a busy time for me. I'm thinking about you all though. Anyone doing anything interesting this weekend?

Ok, my big weekend plans are to clean out my den. Now don't anyone tell my hubby in case I dont' get around to it. Short story, oldest son had his bedroom in the basement. He got married and of course moved out, you wouldn't know that by how often he's at our house though, lol. So younger son moved from our third bedroom to the basement (growing up). The 'third bedroom or den' is off of our dining room and kitchen area (we have a split level townhouse). So when he 'moved out' of that room, we cleaned it out. Two years ago, it was really cleaned out, had our daughter graduation party and used that as the 'food' room. Well over two years, I've decided it would be my scrap room. Got a nice desk and needless to say, the room has gotten junked up. Hubby uses my desk to write out bills (has the file cabinet in there). There are still dresses and 'stuff' from my son and now there is LOTS of other stuff. When I left my old job (after more than ten years) I had accumulated LOTS of STUFF!!!! Needless to say, some of it's still in boxes in my den. I cannot scrap in there yet I do keep all my scrap stuff there when i am not scrapping elsewhere. I am going to try to remember to take a before photo and let you decide if it looks better. I certainly hope by posting my PLAN here, it will make me DO IT!!! (kind of like the exercise). I told someone about it and now I am accountable and I LOVE that. I am working out at least five days a week, at least an hour each day. I am planning on getting to the y before I start my 'clean out' tomorrow, so that would six days this week.

I think that is SO awesome! Good luck getting your den cleaned out. I've been telling myself Im going to rearrange my bedroom now for the last six weeks. :rotfl:
My weekend is going to be much like Patricia's I think. We are having a garage sale later this month and I have decided to sell my baby items. I never got rid of ANYTHING, not even clothes, and my youngest will be 4 in another month. I figured I may have a tiny gold mine and this would be cruise money. :woohoo: I have to get everything together, load up cars, and get the items to my friends house (an hour away) for the garage sale. Since many items have been in the garage, I need to make sure they are disinfected. Sometimes I swear I have a daddy long legs spider farm out there. After that task is complete, I am hoping to rearrange my bedroom (see above), then it is on to mowing the back yard (my wonderful neighbor mowed the front yard earlier this week....what a suprise to come home to! :cloud9: ). I then need to battle the weeds that are trying to take over my landscaping. I think the weeds are winning right now. Home Depot will just love me! I'll have to repair the hole in the wall my son's dog ate in his room. :headache: Yes...a wall. Does plaster look like a great thing to chew? Apparently it does to a lab. Sometime in there I have to take Christopher to boyscouts so he can sit outside a grocery store and beg people to buy candy. Is there a little smiley icon for pulling your hair out? At least I should get plenty of sun! It is soppose to turn cold here on Sunday. High of 71. Yes, I said 71 AND that IS cold for FL! ;) I'll have to take out the parka for the evenings when it is 49. :) I have to fix my bike. I fixed the back tire last weekend only to find out I didn't do it right. I tried to fix it again and popped the inner tube in the tire. :headache: Now I have a new inner tube to put and and cheers to lessons learned. ;) Ok, that is my diatribe. :) I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and I can't wait to see if Patricia gets her den cleaned out, what Monica is up to, and the rest of the boards adventures. popcorn::

I really did it!!!!

Ok, if you missed my post a couple up, you are wondering what did I do??? :confused3

Well, I cleaned out my den/third bedroom so that I can scrap in there and hubby can do bills. Here are some before photos (scary, sorry).

After several trips to Good will and LOTS of trash, I have a den. I even hit a garage sale and got a desk for hubby. He was using my scrap station as 'HIS' desk area. It is now folded down (the sides fold down and it's on wheels) so it's over iwth my scrap stuff and I can pull it out easily when I want to scrap. I need to get some of his stuff organized on his desk, but that is a small task compared to the big picture.

Beautiful Patricia! :thumbsup2 I am sure you feel LOTS of satisfaction! You can come over here next since your on a roll.

I convinced my sons to clean out their rooms today. I told them they could keep whatever money they earned by selling their toys at the garage sale. I ended up with three bags of stuff. :thumbsup2 That worked out SO much better than sneaking into their rooms comando style and getting toys together to go to goodwill. ;)

I ordered the biobands for sea sickness for my mom and her boyfriend. She also had me get a child one since we aren't sure if Chase will get seasick. I am SO totally excited about this cruise! It is so hard to contain it sometimes. :jumping1:

I was reading a review on cruisecritic.com and laughing at one of the bad reviews. One of the comments was "it was to Disney":sad2: ...Hello....It IS a Disney cruise! If we didn't want it Disney, we would be on another cruise line. The little things that amuse me.:)

Dawn,

I can't tell you how good it feels to actually accomplish something major. I also changed out some of my winter clothes to summer (still have two more boxes of those to do though) and I cleaned a little bit of the living room closet to make room for hubby's harley helmets and bag. I still see LOTS I need to do, but it was so good to get something done. Thanks for the encouragement!

Good job on getting your sons to do some of their own picking of toys to get rid of. I find that helps so much (they make that decision, no sneeky stuff out of the house, lol).

I hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend. We've had beautiful weather Friday and Saturday (had a couple thunderstorms today, but fast moving), but going to get cooler again tomorrow. darn! I love spring with warm days and open windows!!!
