I'm taking my first solo trip in September and Mickeys NSSHP will happen twice while I'm there. Is the $68 ticket worth going by myself, without the kids? Is it geared more toward little kids? I don't want to waste the money if there isn't something for adults. Thoughts?

I would go solo. You will have your favorite rides available, see adults and kids alike dress in Halloween costumes, a great fireworks display and a parade which is special. Don't forget trick or trick stations all over the park. The CM's
are generous when filling your bags with candy. I believe you will have a terrific time. :thumbsup2

Yes, attending the MNSSHP is worth doing alone. The parade and fireworks are terrific and the villains show in front of the castle is alot of fun. I don't trick-or-treat, but I do like to get my pictures taken with the characters in their special Halloween outfits. This year, I will be doing a solo split stay in September. The first two nights I'll be staying at a Universal resort and attending Halloween Horror nights and seeing the Blue Man Group. Then for the second half, I'll move on to Kidani Village to attend MNSSHP and the Food and Wine Festival. My advice would be to go for it and not worry! :yay:

I have done MNSSHP solo the last three years and I enjoy it very much for the simple fact I can dress up. I also enjoy the special halloween festivities and checking out guest costumes. I do collect the candy but I typically give it away at the end.

Yes, go! I think the adults have more fun than the kids. We go every year, no kids. You can go full costume or just a fun t shirt. Some don't dress up at all. But definitely get your trick or treat bag and fill it up at the candy stations! Its definitely worth it. pirate:

it is geared more for adults. oh the kids will think it is for them...like they do the rest of Disney. But it is all for the grown ups! Now excuse me while I go plan my costume...

Definitely do it, lots of unique photo ops too and definitely the Trick or Treating. There is so much to see and do so don't bother doing rides, I did rides one year and missed my chance of a photo with Flynn Rider, he was leaving as I got there. I love the costumes guests wear as well.

i am in the same boat... i am going 10/3-10/20 with 2 aunts in their 70's however they are only staying about 5 days and i am staying another 13 days

the aunts dont want to spend the money for the party so i just ordered a ticket for the 16th or 17th i foget which day...i did notice thurs night was cheaper (a few dollars) than fri & sat..
i have heard many people say the halloween party is better than the xmas party...so i figured i would try it once....

will hit 2 new events this time (after 28 trips) the food & wine festival and the halloween party...

so i would say ...go for it and try it once... if you like it = money well spent if you dont = chalk it up to a learning experience
good luck... i asked around...i am not dressing up, just want to see the extra parades, fireworks and shows... cant wait to hear what you think

I can't speak to going solo, but I can speak to going as adults without kids! DH and I have been 5 times (and we don't have kids) and will be going to our 6th (and maybe 7th) party this fall! We like the music, atmosphere, fireworks, parade and I like meeting some of the characters in their costumes. DH likes to ride the major rides with basically 0 wait time - like BTMRR and Splash. Finally, we like the special food offered during the party - last year we had the ghost cupcake at Gaston's and the candy corn soft serve.

I've been on my own, not quite got the confidence to dress up but wore a Halloween tshirts instead. Had a great time didn't feel odd collecting candy, most of which I took into work when I got back think it lasted about two days, if you've ever seen drs and nurses with anything sweet that shows how much I had:rotfl2:
I really enjoyed hallow wishes and would do it again

I appreciate this thread and the responses. I'll be a solo dude attending MNSSHP and it's nice to see all the encouragement. Also I just can't wait to hit up all the rides, and apparently check out the parade because it's cool. Thanks
