Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween question

You can get into MK with party tix at 4 pm. Plan to be at the gate earlier than that so you can get right in and head to your favorite ride. CM's will be herding day tix holders out at 6 pm I believe, so you might want to catch a ride and then get a bite to eat and watch the stragglers leave. You are there as others are just coming in and should be able to do a few more rides and then pace yourselves so you enjoy the party atmosphere rather than running around trying to do all the rides. Enjoy!

Reviving this thread as it seems to confirm my wife's fear that 11/1 might not have a party forcing us to go on 10/31. I am reading mixed reviews regarding crowd size. My kids want candy so I plan to bring a Costco bag to avoid wasting time in lines for a snickers...

More than likely all the parties will sell out, so Halloween won't be anymore crowded than the others. Only issue is that Halloween may sell out quicker, so I would purchase when you are able rather than waiting.

I disagree, the term "sell out" is entirely different on different days. Last year we went on opening day and the next party day both were "sold out" but the crowd level on the first day was at least double the 2nd night. I'm not into conspiracy theories but there's no way both nights had the same tickets issued.

Well, we've never experienced noticeable difference between sold out events. I think it just depends on what the crowds (and yourself) are focused on at the parties. Some nights may be focused on candy/shows, etc., some nights may seem more character or ride focused.

FYI, candy lines move fast and did not take too much of our time at all. Tip, don't do them right when the party starts, the last few hours they move really fast and give huge scoops of candy!

One thing that can impact crowds on sold out nights is weather. If it's egregious enough to impact a party (like canceling parades or fireworks), Guest Services will issue raincheck tickets if people ask for them, even to parties otherwise sold out. Enough of those and you can see a bump at the next party after one of those washouts.

I understand the kids wanting candy but man that’s a waste of quality time. I’ll bribe my kids :)
Using party time to trick or treat? LOL, with the size of the scoops Disney gives out and how much I pay for chocolate at the store, I count it as a win to spend a few minutes in line. At the end of the night most lines are no wait and the portions are generous!

This was just one of my scoops last year and zero wait, it was a walk up!IMG_2504.jpeg

3 treat stops and we had to empty our bags into Ziplock's before going to the next stop!

We did one treat stop early on to have candy to munch on and then saved the rest for the end of the night. We took SO much candy home and chose to stop trick or treating as we had more candy than we needed!

wow, it takes about 7-10 days prior to the day to sell out. crazy popular

It depends but yes it's a very, very popular event. Some dates actually sell out much faster than that. Halloween night is usually the first to go and last year sold out crazy fast, iirc within the first few days of general public sales. That's why the rule of thumb is if you know what date you want, get your tickets ASAP. Every date will sell out and every year there are people who missed out because they waited too long debating specific dates.

Planning to Take the kids to their first not so scary Halloween party next October and had some questions about strategy.

We will be in for a short Columbus Day weekend, which I assume will be packed, but would like to be able to hit most of the rides, so I am Planning to splurge on the premier lightning lane passes. But as I understand, there are no lighting lanes during the halloween party hours.

Does this mean I going to need to purchase separate general park admission tickets + premier LL (which can only be used till 4 pm), and then a separate Halloween party ticket?

Other option would be to pair the Halloween party with the other park day, but that seems like a lot to squeeze in for one day
Yes I believe it is all separate. The lines move quickly during the party, everything is usually less than 30 mins

What's the difference between Mickey's not so scary halloween party and the oogie boogie bash?
OBB has treat trails, where you walk through a trail past a villain to get your treats at MNSSHP, you stand in line to trick'or'treat, there's no villains or interactions with the line. OBB sells out in a matter of hours, MNSSHP sells out after days for party dates. OBB is in California, MNSSHP is in Florida. Both have a parade, but the Headless Horseman starts things off at MNSSHP, which is amazing. Both have special food, photo options, and ride overlays. Both allow attendees to wear costumes. Both run from afternoon/early evening, until midnight.

This is generally true but they did have the Evil Queen and Maleficent inside the Princess Fairytale Hall treat trail last year. Not interacting just kind of being menacing lol. I hope they end up doing it again because it was really fun. We got selfies with them!
